The Golden Lion Hotel

Well done to the new Golden Lion team! We have never been in this hotel for food previous to this despite being local to Hunstanton. Being newly refurbished and under new management we wanted to give it a try. We were able to get a late Sunday lunch 7pm last night as a family of 6. We chose 3 beef, 2 pork and 1 chicken! Despite the late hour the staff were attentive and the food was fresh. Good portion sizes all served nice and hot, cooked and presented nicely-the gravy was perfect! I have to say we had high expectations and we wasn’t disappointed! Keep up the great work. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful hotel and right beside the sea. We just went for 2 nights and was totally chilled. Staff very helpful and smiley 😊 I'm unable to walk too far at the moment so was nice the shops are literally round the corner. Would recommend paying for residents parking as the free parking in front of hotel seems to be permanently full.

Incredible food, fabulous decor, amazing staff... whatever your doing...DO NOT CHANGE IT.
3rd time we've been since the refit, and its absolutely fabulous.

We're local so have not stayed there but I'm sure it's fabulous too.

Recently refurbished rooms. Great location in centre of town. Had to pay for parking but with it as behind locked barred area. Food delicious but book as it gets very busy . Staff friendly and attentive. Seperate eating and sleeping areas for people with dogs.

The new owners have carried out super refurbishment and redecoration. Full credit to all those involved.
Not the cheapest around but a good menu and good service.

Only went for a meal but since the refit, I have to say it is really nice inside.

Myself and my partner had Sunday lunch there. Excellent service and first class tasty food. Filling too! I had a whole fresh maceral fish with new potatoes and greens. Lovely. It cost £50 with drinks. My partner had a whole seabass saulte potatoes with greens. I have stayed at a bay hotel with drive in. They are really worth the money and have breakfast hot and cereal ,rolls etc
, and dinner with afters. Worth looking at.

Popped in for hot drinks in the bar. Great service, warm and welcoming atmosphere, spacious and comfortable seating areas. Beautiful building, did not stay as was only in Hunstanton the day but would definitely book up if was staying in the area.

What a difference the Golden Lion is now since it went into new ownership. Very clean and newly decorated with new floor covering. The new bar is very pleasant, as are all the staff.

Our 1st visit since the revamp!!! It's looks amazing!!!! Dinning room & bar areas look fantastic, clean & new furnishings look good. We where upgraded when we checked in for a sea view room and the new rooms look good & the large walk in shower are a big improvement!!!... once again the whole atmosphere was lovely and the staff are very friendly!!! Both the bar & dinning room areas were busy but the staff were on the ball!!!! We didn't eat here but from what we saw the food looked lovely. Look forward to our next visit.

Wow what a fabulous place, ideal position on the green with panoranic sea view, the bar was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly.The barman on duty was credit to the golden lion. Well mannered devonshire lad from Exeter.👍

Just had 2023 Christmas Dinner there. Well cooked on a very hot plate. I'm booking up for next year. You won't be disappointed with a visit to the Golden Lion.

Wow what a transformation. Fabulous location on the green in Hunstanton sea views from the bright loung /bar area. Staff are very friendly. Will be back.👍

We recently went for a four day break to the Golden Lion Hotel. We had requested a downstairs room due to mobility issues, but was told there were none left on arrival, after 24 hours they had managed to transfer us to a downstairs room moving all our luggage and organising everything, this was all done with no fuss and a huge smile from all the staff involved.

Our stay was very relaxing, all the staff were extremely professional and friendly, the room was clean and the food and service excellent. We would have no problem in recommending this hotel for a friendly, comfortable and relaxing stay.

We would like to thank all the staff for a very nice time.

My wife Linda and I had a wonderful overnight stay on 31/3/23.

Staff very friendly. Room lovely and clean, breakfast was superb; plenty of choice. We decided to stay here in Hunstanton for personal reasons having met for the first time by chance whilst we were both with our parents in the mid-late 80’s then meeting again a few years later through a dating agency; getting to know each other then getting married in 2001. And here we continue with our story, hoping to now consider returning each year. 😀

We have stayed here twice now and it is ideal. Staff was helpful and friendly. Good price to. We will be returning soon.
