My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon. The moment we walked into the pub, there was a large adorable fluffy dog laying across the floor. “Just move him aside” said one of the friendly staff members. I smiled and told him we love dogs, and we walked past him. The pub is beautiful and quaint, the courtyard and garden very peaceful and charming. The rooms are very nice and the water pressure in the shower is very good. There is a huge map of middle earth in the pub area, right by “Tolkien’s chair” as he used to frequent this place. Staff could not have been kinder. We loved our stay and hope to come back some day :)

Stopped in for Sunday Roast while on holiday and we were not disappointed. I was able to order the last beef and my wife ordered the chicken. Both came with veg, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding, and delicious gravy. For £18.95 each, we left completely stuffed, with food remaining on our plates as we were unable to finish everything. Would come again.

My wife and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon, due to the fact I’m a massive J.R.R. Tolkien fan. It was everything I wanted, from the moment in to the moment we checked out. The pub dog, Finley, was adorable, and the staff was amazing. The owner is a joy to chat with and took the extra time to share Tolkien more and provide consistent A+ service. The pub is beautiful and quaint, and there is a huge map of middle earth in the pub area, right by “Tolkien’s chair” as he used to frequent this place. The courtyard and garden sets a quiet, soothing scene. The rooms are fantastic, and I honestly felt like I was sleeping in the Prancing Pony. The amenities are up-to-date and great. We loved our stay, and I plan to come back!

Called in for a drink during a visit to the area. The pub was lovely inside and out with friendly staff. We didn't stay or eat so can't comment on that. The Bell has a lovely area out the back to sit and enjoy the area and the weather.

Wonderful B&B in the central area of the Cotswalds. Pleasant atmosphere, great service, and reasonably priced. The landlords are very friendly with site suggestions and they even have an in pub dog named Finlay who is always happy to see you each morning.

A chatty pub that also seems to have some space for those who seek a book and the quiet. Waiting for my train, I had 2 hours to kill. This pub and the lovely folks serving made my evening. Good food and really cool crowd.

Best pub in town without a doubt!

Friendly staff, very cozy, nice courtyard and well themed. The map of middle-earth on the wall was a really nice touch.

The food was good and arrived swiftly, overall great service. Plus, the pub dog was adorable and friendly too.

If you’re ever in the area and considering a pub to visit, The Bell Inn is the only right choice.

Had a lovely meal here only a short cab ride from where we were staying in Blockley. Booking in advance recommended as the popularity of this place speaks volumes. Highly recommended we will return

We stayed three nights at the Bell Inn as part of our 50th year anniversary trip. We could not recommend the Bell Inn more highly. John and his staff made us feel incredibly welcomed. Our room was comfy, the food was terrific (do not believe those who denigrate British food), and the staff was friendly and attentive. We loved the atmosphere in the pub. JR Tolkien would be proud to see how well the place has held up.

We stopped here whilst travelling around the Cotswolds looking at sights that inspired Tolkien whilst writing The Lord of the Rings. This is a lovely pub with some great bar staff. We had a few drinks which were reasonably price, sadly we didn’t get lunch as it was very busy and had an hour wait. So we looked at some of the old photos around the premises. We took some pics and chatted to some regulars. A great pub with the added bonus of being the inspiration for the Prancing Pony in Lord of the Rings

Popped in a couple of times during our stay in Moreton in Marsh. It's a nice pub with connections to Tolkien and the Lord of the rings. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the drinks and food were good. Dog friendly with treats on the bar, well worth stopping at if you're in the area.

Myself, mum and two sisters have just returned from a two night stay at the bell...where to begin??....the rooms are so comfortable and so clean and welcoming.

John is absolutely wonderful. He made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Food was 1st class!!!. Can't wait to return.

Best country pub in Moreton. John is super friendly and the bar staff are easy going and can have a laugh with. Super friendly place. Dogs welcome and food is out of this world. Wouldn't dine anywhere else. Massive beer garden ideal for the hot summer days.
