We loved the coffee here.
I had chocolate with mushrooms and my friend have a mocha.
They were delicious.
We also have tiramisu' cake. I felt the cacao lots in it.it was really tasty.
The place is always busy.
The food is made with fresh ingredients.

Lovely atmosphere for a coffee shop in the middle of Totnes. The owner knows his coffee and has knowledgeable staff working the espresso machine. The guest blends are always worth asking about too.
Totnes has a wide range of coffee shops for a small market town, this one is a stand out.

On a rainy Monday we found ourselves in Totnes hoping to find a table & have brunch @the.hairy.barista 🥳 The place was packed & buzzing 😃 The food was exquisite & so was the coffee. The Pancakes where some of the best I have ever tried! 🔥🥳🙌🏻

Overall a great place now they’ve moved location. The place has a vibrant and yet when mixed with the relaxing music, it’s a great place to chill out, especially in the window where you perch on the swing seats

The Hairy B has moved. Even better place. Lovely outdoor space, kids play area, swings in the window..Lovely coffee the best in Totnes alongside the Curator. Enjoy the falafel and love the Halva croissant. Always feel life is a little sunnier when I leave the Hairy Barista.

Great coffee, even better cakes... And vegan friendly too! A good choice of dairy free milks and always has delicious vegan cakes to chose from. Customer service is always good and its a great place to sit and people watch... One of our favourite spots! 😊

Such a cute place with a very cosy and earthy atmosphere. Coffee & cake came out really quickly and waitress was very friendly. Chai cake was unusual (much less sweet than you'd expect, definitely tasted 'healthy') but tasty and my decaf latte was excellent - not too hot so it wasn't bitter, nice and strong, good taste and not too thick/thin texture-wise. Not too much seating but it'd be worth waiting for a table to become free!

Every drink has been perfected - beautiful espresso-based drinks (beautifully balanced shots, perfectly textured milk), the best hot-chocolates and wonderful Turkish coffee (a must-try)!
The food is all vegan, and very tasty.
I’ve probably been to 50+ coffee shops but this tops them all.

I would have loved to pack this café into my suitcase and take it with me. But I will definitely keep it in my heart. I found the atmosphere relaxing and inspiring, and the coffee and tea absolutely fantastic! I had both soup and cake there and can therefore say: the concept of this café is lived and made tangible by everyone involved. Thank you for a really nice holiday memory. I will visit this place on my next holiday just because of you.

Awesome oat flat white, friendly staff. Carrot cake was lush, think it might have been vegan, but didn’t check. Either way it was ace. Definitely worth travelling to for good coffee. 👌

Wonderful little cafe with very cozy feeling and beautiful, delicious vegan options (not 100% vegan though). My wife and I ordered 2 Toasties and both were very distinct and tasty with vegan cheese too. TheHairyBarista smoothy was rich and spicy. Espresso was great too! What a find.

Totnes is lucky to have such an amazing, forward thinking, community based cafe with VERY delicious plant based food and amazing staff. All round vibes are so special, you would think you’re in a cool cafe in Bali or Ibiza.

We loved this cool/quirky cafe in Totnes. We were in a rush unfortunately so just grabbed take away coffees. But each of us was thoroughly impressed with the coffees prepared for us. An almost perfect flat white / latte.
We would like to have tried more of the interesting food/drink options on offer as the ingredients/flavouring combinations looked epic. Another time!

One of the best coffee bars ever - not cheap but great food, service and atmosphere

Really great coffee spot loved the courtyard and kids play room. The cakes are refined sugar free and taste incredible. Coffee for me is key and this place did it well. Made better by a content two year old in a treasure trove of toys which kept other people happy the little ones were entertained.

This is a cafe worth visiting - the food was all delicious, the coffee was divine, but above all else, the service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed happy to be there. It shouldn’t be hard to find a cafe this good, but it is!
