I stayed here overnight for a short visit to Totnes and it was a delight. The rooms were beautiful and the food was delicious. All of the staff were super helpful and kind. The included breakfast was delicious as well. I highly recommend taking an evening here or at the very least, stopping for a meal. The food was all fresh and there were lots of gluten free options.

I don't normally review hotels and stick to pubs and heritage railways, but I feel this need to be an exception. Room was excellent with a soft bed and lovely bathroom and the breakfast was delicious. I recommend the full bull. Staff are helpful. Sure they have no televisions, but who cares. They have a brilliant restaurant downstairs focusing on local cuisine and Totnes has plenty to offer without looking to hard.

We stayed here for a birthday weekend and absolutely loved it. The ethos of the place is really felt - local, quality and responsible. The staff were kind and not imposing. And whilst it is a pub with rooms, there was a real local feel.

The food was incredible - we went for a huge mix of small plates which were well portioned and priced. And ended up eating there 4 times over 6 meals!

I'd really recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely base to explore the local area

We really did drop on with this gorgeous little restaurant in Totnes yesterday. The town was recommended to us by a friend for its hippy charm and being dog friendly. we wanted to stop somewhere that did nice food... Not standard pub grub. The Bull inn's menu suggestions and ideals got my attention straight away. Seasonal, exciting and organic food.... we really did struggle to choose what we wanted, and it was all delicious. The beers, wine and waitress! were also 10/10.
We 100% will go back but with an over night stay next time so we can sample some of the cocktails on offer.

Absolutely fabulous lunch. The staff were super friendly and they were very accommodating on my daughters allergy needs. We were allowed to try a little wine before we bought a glass which was a nice touch. The food was outstanding, full of flavour, fresh and wholesome. We will most certainly be back!

The best food I've ever had in a super relaxed, non pretentious setting, we go regularly on special occasions or with guests because we want to show them how it's done.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions about the ever changing menu, or make recommendations on drink pairings.

The atmosphere makes it feel like you're in a family member's house and they have just rustled up the most amazing meal out of local food. Really wholesome and blinkin delish 👌

Damn were we in luck. Didn't have a reservation but they had a rare open spot. Our local friend we visited from overseas told us this place was in the top something in The Guardian so we had high expectations and those were fulfilled. You know the food is going to be fresh when the menu is limited. Delicious and super creative dishes that really tickled all my taste buds! Would definitely recommend this place! Also dog friendly 😍

We popped in for lunch arriving at 12 noon and managed to get a table for two but advisable to book as tables quickly filled up the whole 2 hours. Very varied eclectic menu with small plate and large plate choices. We had the small plate, trout for me and lamb chops for my daughter. Lots and lots of drinks choice. We enjoyed our meal, fine dining at the best. You won’t find general pub grub here. The desserts delicious, we shared. Service was good being busy, we were well attended. I liked that there was no music shouting at me. All in all a pleasant experience.

Stopped in for a quick drink and a bite after a long trip back from Spain, and the vibe we wonderfully similar - sitting outside, great quality tomato bread salad + bread and oil, and wine. Lovely quality and a lovely vibe

Evening meal. We shared 2 small plates, red mullet and pulled pork tacos and one main, monkfish. All three were excellent. Shared the chocolate ganache dessert, which was a little dissapointing as it was a dessert i could have easily made myself and therefore seemed expensive. The service was exemplary.

Found this gem of a pub online a few years ago while searching for places to go not far from Somerset.

I knew it would be a good place to go because their food looked and sounded yummy, but I knew I had to go after following them on Instagram and seeing their forward thinking and actions regarding global issues. It was a no-brainer that a place with good food and even better morals would be great to support.

The front of house staff were lovely and helpful to everyone that walked through the door
, thank you! It was great to see them support each other and have general chatter too.

I overheard the kitchen staff and serving staff getting briefed about allergies/food requirements and what alternatives they can provide. Often, I go to restaurants whose menu is drastically limited for people with food requirements, and I'm usually left disappointed and sad when there's only one or two things I can eat because of hidden (not obvious on the menu) ingredients.
So, it was so warming that The Bull Inn staff are so on it with recipes and dishes that things can easily get substituted.

The drinks selection was good! The food was yummy!

The only thing that could have made it better - a little music. (and more annual leave so we could stay a night!)

Great place for breakfast! Had one of my all time favorite breakfasts - "The Full Bull." Traditional English Breakfast with a twist. Also, great for dinner and seems like a lovely place to stay.

We went and had lunch on the recommendation of our friends and it was delicious. The atmosphere was great and excellent service. The waitress was very personable. We sat near the kitchen, because there were no other tables free and we didn’t reserve, but it was comfortable and loved watching the chefs doing their magic. Look forward to going back for a date night. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

The bull is always amazing a little spenny but what you get for your money is really well put together flavours and very tasty food using incredible organic and seasonal vegetables ( and meat if you care to take part in that )

The best meal I've had for a very long time. Every dish beautifully crafted with ingredients that are all locally sourced and "organic". Every mouthful was a taste and texture sensation. Special mention to the blood orange and cardamom chantilly dessert which was next-level sensational.
Thank you to the Bull and staff for a memorable meal. *Six* stars!

We’ve eaten here before and really enjoyed this smart place, serving organic food. Good real ales and a really good, interesting menu. We’d had a big lunch so their choice of “small plates” was perfect. So much choice. We went with:

- Mussels, paprika, garlic, focaccia
- Parsnip bhaji, whipped tahini, chilli jam

- Stuffed lamb’s belly, celeriac remoulade, green sauce
- Crispy cauliflower, hummus, green sauce, pumpkin seed picada

This made an excellent dinner.
