Karen's Restaurant

We visited Tavistock with friends for the day and called in here for a light lunch. Excellent service, all food is home cooked, my wife had a quiche and I had the egg and bacon pie. Both came with a very pleasant salad garnish. Could not fault either. The only negative was seating was quite cramped and tables close together.

Great little restaurant which had been recommended by a local shop keeper.
Good home cooked food.
Good service.
Varied menu.
Some meals had a choice of small/large portions.
We chose the soup.
Best soup we've had in a long time 👍

Lovely little traditional English cafe. Brought my young Son in for breakfast. Waitress was attentive but not intrusive. Just the right amount of care. Brought my Son's food out first and kept mine warm so I could enjoy it after without being asked. Fantastic selection of Gluten Free and Dairy free cakes and Desserts. One of the most relaxing and enjoyable dining experiences I have had in ages. Will definitely be back. Thanks!

Very small inside, tables very close together but inspite of this the service was quick and the food was excellent.
Would definitely recommend that you try here.

We ordered a takeaway afternoon tea from Karen recently. It was absolutely delicious. Very tasty savouries and yummy cakes and scones.

Just returned from a group booking at Karen’s. Meal was excellent, nice and hot with good quality vegetables and meat. Every request from group like extra gravy was attended to immediately by lovely staff. Thank you for a very pleasant Sunday lunch get-together.

This is a lovely restaurant. I had a lovely roast beef dinner, meat melted in my mouth, vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. Proper gravy,too. Yummy. The staff are friendly and professional. I highly recommend Karen's restaurant. I will be going again.

I went on the recommendation of a good friend and was not disappointed. Probably the firmest meaty sausages that I have ever eaten. Very good value for money, a great breakfast. I'll be back.

Popped in for the 1st time as a table of 5, greeted and welcomed in and two tables put together to accommodate. Hassle free. Great Dairy Free selection, which you hardly find elsewhere. Great for a dairy intolerance husband. Service quick and friendly. Food was amazing, and the hot chocolate lush. Great to find a cafe which supports local. Great experience. Will certainly visit again.

Absolutely loved this place. We ordered from the 2 course lunch menu, and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the portions. I ordered the shepherd's pie and my husband the lasagne. Really tasty food. Good plate full. For dessert we both had lemon meringue pie. Nice big fluffy meringue and zesty lemon part. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend eating here if ever visiting Tavistock.

Karen's cafe is a good place to be excellent food drinks and very friendly recommend it

I just want to move in. I always have a poached egg on cheese on toast and a piece of Karen's scrumptious cake and boy, this lady can bake! I could happily eat my way through the cake cabinet. The coffee cake is divine and yesterday, I experienced the cranberry and orange sponge covered in white chocolate, yum.
Karen and her team are the greatest, so welcoming. We love coming in and have to visit weekly. Thank you.x

This is definitely a restaurant worth visiting.
The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Good wholesome home from home meals.
So much to choose from,
a great choice in cakes/deserts..although unable to squeeze any in after the portion size of our main meal.
The prices were good and not overly expensive.

Excellent fresh food and even better home made cakes. Lovely local restaurant/coffee shop. Has a few seats outside and plenty inside, although can get busy. The selection of cakes is impressive and if you can't decide on 1, there's always the option to take a slice of another home for later! The Victoria sponge is always a winner

Delicious afternoon tea served at a very reasonable price. Gluten free version was very nice too. A wide range of wonderful cakes to choose from. Plenty of gluten free options too. Cosy atmosphere. Ideal location. Highly recommend it.

A great early morning Sunday visit yesterday. Really good service and very good menu. Had a Countryman's Breakfast which was really tasty and good value for money, they even swapped an item without quibble. I would thoroughly recommend.
