Been tonight and can confirm the kitchen is open on Mondays (can’t seem to edit the times!) had a lovely meal sat in the bar area with our two dogs. Nice friendly staff and the food was proper home cooked food! Had the sausage and mash and was so tasty. Another of us had the pork chop and It was huge! Lovely dog friendly pub with nice beer and great food.

Amazing meal from start to finish, firstly the server was a pleasure, constantly checking on our needs, always smiling. The manager was also a great laugh. The food was a delight from start to finish, highly recommend the pork chop. Fairly priced at £35 for two course and a drink. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Wonderful meal Saturday evening. Atttentive staff, well priced and food was delicious! I had the Barnsley lamb chop - amazing! Husband had a chicken burger, which was doubled up and huge!! Mother in law had the gammon which looked fabulous and she said it was the best gammon she’s had for a long time. Son opted for a kids burger with added bacon, and he wolfed it down followed by the chocolate brownie….
Will return when in area next, all staff amazing and very attentive, thank you :)

This is a lovely English country pub, with a modern food menu and strong selection of ales and beverages.

The interior is pleasant and well decorated and the bar staff were very friendly when taking our food and drink orders. Service to the table was a little bit slow at one point, but it was quite busy so I suppose it can be forgiven.

Exceptionally good value food on offer and caters for a variety of tastes. Well worth paying this place a visit!

It's all about the people - friendly, helpful, attentive, chatty - just perfect; and the food? Wow! You often see 'Gastro Pub' bandied about, well this IS a gastro pub - perfect for foodies!
And just to make a perfect pub even better, the overnight stay in the quiet car park was free of charge if you're eating in the pub.
A night out doesn't get any better. ❤

Lovely place. Perfect for a drink and something to eat after a wander round the castle. Really nice food, service and people.
Good value for money and Dog friendly was a plus for us tho they had a restaurant side aswell without dogs.

This is definitely the new PLACE TO GO! I love the Black Horse Inn at Castle Rising since it has been under new ownership. It always seems to be busy when I have been there for Friday night drinks, meals and bank holiday BBQ's with friends and family. The food is of such high quality. My favourite dish is the tagliatelle. The outside seating area is relaxing and modern. The inside seating area has been brightened up and now has a brilliant atmosphere. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and helpful as well. Keep it up Black Horse!

Really lovely pub, we were there on New Year's Eve afternoon and it was fairly quiet apart from the event on the other side of the pub. The pub was decorated very festively and Christmas tunes playing in the background it was actually rather nice and a couple of good pints of Brixton.

Having decided to extend our 3 night stay in Norfolk, we noticed a few references to the Black Horse pub in Castle Rising, allowing overnight stays in the motorhome. Such a perfect location and most welcoming team. Close to the castle and ideal for pleasant walks in the vicinity. With a great selection of beers and wines and well prepared and tasty meals, I had the gammon which was delicious 😋. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Make sure to call ahead if you want to stay over. The parking is flat if you find a place by the wall .

Busy local pub . Squeezed us in . Food was faultless . Staff friendly . Well priced. Would visit again . No faults
We had a pork chop . Kids meals and pasta dish. I like an honest meal and this ticked the box.

We booked a table for 12 people on a Saturday evening for my Dad's 80th birthday. It was the first time any of us had eaten here since the change of ownership. The food and service were first class. Everyone of us loved our visit and have said we would return.

The friendliest staff & delicious food! Lovely interior (very cozy) & plenty of outdoor eating space. Plus a massive car park. The best part was how dog friendly this business is. My 2 pups were in puppy heaven with how much love they received. Highly recommend eating/drinking here!

We arrived at about 8pm on sunday evening unaware last orders was about 8.30pm. But we sat outside and finished our drinks. So cannot comment on food etc. The outside is nice as is the inside, staff seem friendly.
