Stayed in 2022. One of my favourite places I've stayed in, felt like a proper home from home! Cup of tea on arrival and guests have use of the dining area and living room which is lovely. Room had great views and was very clean. Lovely breakfast, the hosts were also very accommodating for vegans. Also dog friendly, what more could you want!

Thank you Stephanie and Dean.
Had a great stay at Netherdene B&B. The room (single) was spotless and spacious and has an en-suite shower (great water pressure). The breakfast is great too. There is a good choice to suit everyone, just fill the preference sheet the evening before and you're sorted.
It's a great location (15 min. drive to Glenridding - if you want to take on Helvellyn or catch a steamer on Ullswater lake + more activities)
If you want to visit the area I highly recommend checking this place out.
By the way, it's dog friendly 🐶

Very friendly, cosy and welcoming b&b. Dean looked after us very well and knew lots about the area, very useful. Great choice for breakfast, we will certainly return.

Lovely homely feel, cuppa when checking in, help with bag from my car. Cosy, neat en suite with towels, kettle and usual tea/coffee etc. Conservatory lovely and bright, for dinner and breakfast. Quaint China tea cups, plates, milk jug, very tasty breakfast order night before but freshly cooked, cereal etc. Bookable hot tub with music short walk from conservatory. Dog friendly, nice walk with great views down the lane. Lovely people, lovely stay!! xx

Just returned from a 3 night stay in the Shepherds Hut on site at Netherdene B and B. Lovely clean accommodation and the view from the private patio was just lovely. We didn't book breakfast as we had everything we needed to make our own. The shower was very good with plenty hot water and we also used the hot tub one evening. The hosts were excellent and very welcoming. Dean was always on hand and nothing was too much trouble for him but he also left us our privacy which was just perfect. We were lucky to have great weather which made our stay even more enjoyable. Prices are also very reasonable for the area. Bit disappointed that the pub opposite was closed for 2 nights but that didn't spoil our holiday as plenty of lovely country pubs in the area. Will definitely be back as this is our 2nd visit but 1st time in the Shepherds Hut.

One of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. Lovely warm quiet room (No5). An excellent shower (hot and powerful). The host was very polite and helpful. A delightful breakfast room with a great view. Breakfast was selected from a long list of individual items (cereal, full english and toast available).

Had a great stay, the b & b was in a beautiful location. The breakfast was perfect, the jacuzzi was amazing and the owner was down to earth and very understanding that I was late and adjusted my Jacuzzi booking.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Netherdene B&B with our dog. A home away from home, and very cosy with the decor and the radiators on which was perfect for drying out our soggy clothes. The breakfast was grand and so satisfying! It filled us both up until mid afternoon and there was enough tea to go two rounds each. The views at breakfast were beautiful, watching the clouds roll in over the hills and even doing a spot of bird watching. There's a good amount of parking on site as well. Location is a bit isolated in terms of supermarkets, convenience stores etc, but it's mid way and on the main route between Penrith and Keswick which has got plenty to offer and we just picked stuff up whilst we were out and about. Tourist attractions though, it's in good driving range and is well away from the hustle and bustle.

Overall, a very pleasant, memorable and enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again 😊

Steph and Dean were wonderful hosts, they went above and beyond to cater for me whilst I stayed with them. Every morning I had a fully vegan breakfast - which was incredible and set me up for the day and to eat in the beautiful breakfast room over looking the fells and wildlife was even better.
I felt incredibly safe staying at Netherdene and the facilities were brilliant. Had everything I needed for my stay in the lakes.
I couldn't be happier with my stay and I keep telling everyone how brilliant it was and how I'll certainly be returning!
Perfect BnB, in an excellent location with wonderful owners, thank you again.

Here in a group of friends - great hospitality, comfortable and very well looked after. Facilitated space for us to have a drink in the B&B after an unfortunate visit to the hotel opposite for drinks.
Breakfast and hospitality was excellent as was filling of flasks, providing glasses, not setting the tables for breakfast so we could have a drink at the tables together..........
Good place in an excellent setting at a price you would expect to pay - check the pub hotel opposite food and hospitality wise and consider the White Horse at Scales three miles away for food and drink instead!

I’ve only been here twenty minutes and I’ve already made my mind up. It’s lovely.
The landlady greeted me when I arrived and made me a tray of tea to settle me in - couldn’t have been nicer.

It took me two minutes to find the place in the dark but it’s actually not hidden; just me not looking properly. Parking is good and Wi-Fi plenty fast enough. Breakfast room is nice, and happily you don’t have to lock your dog in the car to have breakfast, which is quite usual in many places.

I can imagine myself coming back here. Right, I’m off to find out about the pubs….

Netherdene bed and breakfast was a brilliant place to stay after some long cycles in the Lake district. Dean went out of his way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. Our bikes were able to be stored securely overnight which was handy too. The hot tub was an immense treat and made the trip very memorable. Would highly recommend to all those interested in a relaxing trip to the countryside.

Thoroughly recommended. Stayed for 8 nights whilst walking in the area. Full english every morning was scrumptious and sets you up for the day. Room cosy with a great, powerful shower and the water was always hot. Thermostatic controls on radiator in room so temperature always right for me.
Owners friendly, helpful, down to earth and always on hand if I needed anything. Pub across the road ( Troutbeck Inn ) was great too and very handy for evening meals ( Booking advised ).
Would not hesitate to book again.
Best wishes

Scenery that this place is situated on is breath taking. Put this out now, there is a restaurant/Pub/hotel over the road. Booking for food is required, can't simply walk in.

This place is also pet friendly, number of Dogs that seen at breakfast time was nice surprise.

Arriving in Winter term, would advise not to get to the location too late, especially when it gets dark.

The reason for this is; visibility isn't as clarifying as it appears.

Arrived late into darkness and you need to be wary on approach. Especially when entering the complex as parking is; left of the building. Surfacing is certain type of cobbles but the parking area is more suitable for only smaller vehicles. Wouldn't advise anything larger than VW Golf Hatchback or similar. Parking could get challenging unless the owner can help with this. Best asking to be safe than sorry.

The entrance is simple and on the front in plain sight. Although small on the entrance, there can be improvements, not drank and felt drunk when leaving with the matt on the outside has taken a fair beaten in wear and tear over the time frame.

When introduced by Dean, the Vibes was fantastic, nice introduction, nothing formal or over the top just laid back. Told what room would be in and gave a layout of the hotel. A piece of paper with the necessary information including the Wifi Password.

Along with the second slip with breakfast option which was reasonable in detail, giving specific time you will attend. Food was fantastic and was delivered as requested. Nothing over the top and optional sides and sauces available on the worktop. One thing didn't notice was tissues or napkins but are available near sauces and Jams.

The stairs was little different on the gradient climb but wasn't any difficultly. I do like lighting, nothing to bright, easy on the eyes. Come to understand the area being rather dark at night and the lights match both the looks of the house and the atmosphere. The bedroom, when entering looked spectacular, it was open with option of lighting.
The shower room was ample in size however the toilette area is limited, not wise for fluffy people being so confined. Would be beneficial making that area whole onsuite and not separate areas making it more spacious in the process.

Double bed was fantastic, was beyond comfortable and got a truly peaceful night sleep. Pillows really helped aswell, the side light switches are nice touch for reading but the switches are out of arms reach when lying comfortable in bed.

Can't really beat the Hot Tub. Basically its £7.50 Per Person per hour, it's not your ordinary kind of hot tub. Obviously when seen the photos, its great size, capacity of group of 4-6 Adults at the most if took a guess. Theres an area to change aswell.

One of my favourites and would definitely return.

Thank you for your hospitality and Stay at Netherdene Country House.

Had a lovely stay, very helpful and pleasant. Beautiful area. if I had to pick a fault it is just how steep the stairs are. Breakfast was lovely. Over all would recommend as long as you are able to manage steep stairs.

Me and my partner have just returned from The Netherdene Bed & Breakfast after spending 3 nights on the Lake District, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast in the morning was superb, one of the best we have had through through various hotels we have stayed at across the UK. Dean is an absolute gent aswell, Probably the best host host we have encountered throughout our stays also, He could not do enough for us, even the little things like drawing us maps from his local knowledge and advising us when and where to go to make the most of our stay in the lake District.

Make sure you try the hottub aswell, It's a quaint little shack in the rear of the hotel complete with TV or sound system, Whichever you prefer, It's the perfect way to unwind and relax after a full days hiking etc.

We will definitely be back to the Netherdene purely down to the great relaxing atmosphere of the place and where it is situated within the Lake District makes accessing all the areas you want to with minimal effort this really is a hidden gem, You will not regret staying here at all.

I usually don’t write reviews but this place absolutely deserves my time. The first thing I noticed as I entered my room was how spotlessly clean and white it looked; I’ve had really bad experiences in the past with hotels so I actually brought my own bedding just in case - I never took it out of the bag - because the room was exactly as I wanted it. Sufficient space, large shower and toilet, there was even a tv in the room which was a single and that was impressive. Little bonuses like a kettle, tea and coffee, two side tables all made a huge difference to my stay. The bed was deliciously comfortable and with a warm carpet the room was very cosy; it was like home away from home. And the whole place really was; a lovely cottage Home and it didn’t feel like a bed and breakfast at all; with the beautiful country decorations you felt like you were invited to stay with family. Dean was a star host - very friendly and supportive and just as the other reviews describe him to be - always happy to help with a smile! Thank you so much Dean, it was such a pleasure to meet you! The breakfast was great and you have a form with a lot of different options with just about all the breakfast food you would have at home! The location was excellent - 3mins walk to the bus stop that will take you to the rail station and also to Keswick where you can connect with all the buses to other places in the district. And if you came for hiking, then you are right next to a mountain with gorgeous panoramic views right outside the doorstep! There is a pub outside the place as well serving food and drinks for dinner! And the most amazing thing about this place is the price! With such easy access to all of the district, it’s an absolute bargain! I highly recommend this place and I would most certainly be going back there again. Dean thank you so much for making my first trip to the Lakes District a most pleasant and memorable one. I really appreciate it. My dog and I are very happy indeed! :)
