Beautiful area for walking lots of routes to enjoy. The ravine walk can be quite muddy and there its lots of steps up and down. You can get all the way down to hawthorn hove beach with views of viaduct. Again lots of steps down to beach bit worth it. Very peaceful. Parking on roadside at the start if lucky will spit the alpacas.

This was well worth the visit. I just parked near the entrance on the road, was loads of space. Beautiful scenery and a lot of history here. You will walk by beautiful fields, the views are incredible, go through trees down these steps into a ravine and under a victorian bridge. Saw some old cave, not sure how old it is. You get down to the beach, only say one other couple down there. There is a ww2 pill box down there, the beach is full of stones not much sand, could have been an area that was mined in the past, I'm not up on the history yet up here as I'm from the South originally. If you love walks, exploring or even somewhere to go for a run this place is well worth it.

Lovely walk through the reserve all the way to the coastal footpath. My only negative remark is there are so many trails but not enough sign posts. So took a wrong turning and ended up walking all around the quarry

Visited this place many many times, its my go to dog walking spot, beautiful all year round gets very muddy though after any rain due to the sheer volume of visitors never spoils it though wellies are a great option 👍🏼the dogs and children both love it, everytime we go we seem to take a different pathway, so not always the same walk.

Beautiful place great walk Beautiful scenery the beach is stones but has been decorated with pictures and names you can cross the railway at the top and get a great view the steps down are a bit steep but if you follow the path to the right before you get to the railway line it will take you down under the viaduct to the beach

Beautiful place to visit, quiet and unspoilt. Had lunch and a walk along the gorgeous beach. Even the walk thought the forest is so quiet and picturesque. Highly recommend it for a visit.

Beautiful area. Ideal for dog walking. Pathways are not a hard surface and can be muddy during wet weather

Lovely family day out. Plenty to explore so could be a couple of hours or a full day. Gorgeous woodland, streams to paddle in and hidden spots to find. A beach at the bottom and a fabulous ice cream and coffee place at the start - what more could you want?!

Beautiful place and area of natural beauty. Situated next to a gorgeous, quaint country village, with a lovely, friendly country pub which does fab 'home cooked' food and it's dog friendly too. With a outdoor beer garden area

💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞Beautiful Serene place to go with family or alone for walks & more importantly the idyllic personification of nature at it's best.
From Spring through all 4 seasons the place is just picture perfect.
The photos you get are better than any screensavers.
These are my screensavers all yr round.
(Trying not to make too big a fuss as it's best kept secret 😄)
Plz like & share if you visit too)
Thanks

This is a lovely walk, either through the Dene itself or a long an avenue of trees down to Hawthorn beach and Hive. And if you choose the right time of year you can have a nice snack at Palominos coffee bar.
