Ramblers Bar and the Candleroom

A lovely little bar and function room at The Inn on The Lake. You can park here for free if you are using the venue.
We stopped for a coffee break on our mini tour of Cumbria. It was ideally situated for us with mum's reduced mobility. The food being served looked fabulous, so absolutely worth trying on another visit.
It's an exceptionally well presented venue with superb staff. The toilet facilities were spotless! The whole venue is accessible. There's a bar serving hot and cold food and drinks, alcoholic beverages are available too. This is a dog friendly venue.
The bar is adjoined to a beautiful function room that was being prepared for a wedding reception. The wedding itself was being held on the grounds of the hotel with Ullswater as its backdrop.

Really lovely spot for a pint and a meal. Food was good, beer refreshing, and staff very friendly. The staff were super welcoming both to us and our dog. It is expensive, but so are most spots in the Lake District, and you get what you pay for. Will definitely be back

Friendly, attentive staff - our server was a young French man and he was lovely! Food came out very quickly, covid guidelines were followed carefully. Everything good! Great location and nice dining area; we'll visit again. We had sandwiches and a ploughman's; the lunch menu was pretty big, lots of options.

Tasty meal as replacement for pizza? Why not. I chose Chinese Shredded Beef and beer Estrella Damm. Very good choice in a very hot day. Perfect table service. Quite pleasant atmosphere and cosy interiors

Staff were really friendly, food and drink excellent and a really nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back when in the area. Dog friendly too.

First visit to this place on our first Lake District holiday. The restaurant looks so high end but you find that dogs are allowed, you can walk in boots or wellies,... The food is so delicious and price is set just right. When you see the serving style you would expect price much higher then what you pay here. Highly recommended place to everyone.

Very nice establishment, and very tasty food, me and my brother had the steak pie it was amazing, within two minutes walk of the lake as well, surrounded by beautiful fells and streams 😊😊

Came in for lunch on Monday and enjoyed ourselves.

The food was lovely and had plenty of beer options. We managed to watch the Queen's funeral on the TV so I assume a game wouldn't be a problem.

Portion sizes were good, though we got two fish and chips and the fish were considerably different in size.

We came here again for dinner on a Wednesday and loved it. We walked out of another pub further up as it was cold and didn't play any music, or have any atmosphere.

The pizzas are large and my gosh the nachos "starters" were a full meal. The pie was a proper pie with a base.

This is a wonderful place to eat and the staff were lovely.

Excellent food and service great price stunning location. No 1 recommendation for the area aside from my camping stove haha but I'm a trained chef. Great waiters and service. Lovely hot toddy. I had the fish and chips after a swim in Conistone Water. I prefer mushroom soup but the sweet potatoes was lovely. Maybe some paprika would have helped. Overall very happy 👌

Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere here. All the staff that we encountered were helpful and friendly.
The tables were set well apart. The food was good too. I enjoyed the Katsu curry with rice and a few julienned veg. Finished off with three scoops of Northern block ice cream. Good company, good food and lovely setting.

Lovely Bar just off the main Restaurant, with a more relaxed Walker friendly feel. Great food, Beer and excellent service 👌 perfect after a day in the hills.

Not a bad word to say about the place. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere felt really welcoming, and the food was amazing. The food was really reasonably priced, especially for the large portion sizes. I would definitely come back again.

The staff was very patient with my mother and I who spoke limited English and know nothing about the rich variety of alcohol choices available here. The fat steak pie is impeccable. The only down side is the "tourist price" we had to pay.
