We had a wonderful few days at Skiddaw Croft. The accommodation is lovely. Very welcoming, very comfortable and great views from our room. Of particular mention are the breakfasts - great choice and absolutely delicious. Paul & Debbie have clearly put a lot into the property and everything is to a high standard. Very highly recommended and we shall definitely return.

This is the Second time I've stayed at this b&b in Portinscale. Such a wonderful location, just outside of Keswick means it's the perfect hub for the start of many beautiful walks. Debbie is so warm and welcoming and will go the extra mile to make sure you're happy (and well fed). Breakfast is without fault every time, tasty produce (some of it local I believe). I stay in a single room and the views are stunning, the linen is soft and the room is just the right temperature. I cannot sing this b&bs praises enough, it is genuinely the most wonderful place to stay. Perfect place for a quiet and comfortable retreat.

Thank-you so much to Debbie and Paul for being fantastic hosts, while staying at the bed and breakfast i turned 56 and to my surprise after arriving back later that day i was left presents and a card. The breakfast was amazing with a large choice and the view from my bedroom window of the mountains and lake were amazing. I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it to anyone thanks again Debbie and Paul from Stephen scarbrough.

My husband & I had a wonderful 5 nights stay at Sue & Steve’s lovely b&b. They pay a great attention to detail throughout. Breakfast was particularly gorgeous with many options to choose from, all cooked to perfection. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and we had a good night sleep which was particularly important on a hiking holiday. The room was immaculately clean. The location was good as well with a lot of nice restaurants nearby. We’ll definitely return.

We were looking for a stay close to Keswick & this B&B is a gem. Steve & Sue are such great hosts, everything thought of & lots of helpful info from them. The room was clean & well kept (even emptied bins daily which was a nice touch for a b&b) delicious breakfast & nice & quiet with a lovely view. We’d definitely come back & have recommended already!

My friends and I from Singapore had the best experience staying with Steve and Sue. Not only did they gave us the most accommodating experience, they also made it feel like home. It was like we never left. From the amazing breakfast of our choosing, to the beautiful views from the B&B, everything was a 5 star! They were extremely friendly and catered to our needs when we needed a little bit extra. The only bad thing would be leaving. Saying goodbye was difficult, let’s hope we cross paths again some day!

We stayed for six nights at Skiddaw Croft B&B and couldn't have been happier! Sue and Steve were excellent hosts, and were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The rooms were spotless, and we were fed very well, from Sue's tasty ginger cake which we received upon our arrival to the delicious cooked breakfasts every morning. The B&B itself is in a great location, just a scenic 20 minute walk into Keswick (quite nice to do before and after a big dinner!) and an easy drive to many major hikes in the area. We stayed from the 17 May, so just after accommodation opened again after lockdown, and we felt very safe as everything was very clean. When we're back in the Lake District, we would definitely stay again! We cannot recommend Sue and Steve's place highly enough.

Had another fantastic stay. The breakfast was 10/10 and the rooms are lovely, clean and very comfortable. Steve and Sue are lovely people and make you feel very welcome. We love the homemade ginger cake and marmalade.
We will definitely be staying again soon.

Really lovely B&B in a beautiful quiet village a short walk from Keswick. Steve was extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home - we were even offered a slice of cake when we arrived, which was lovely. The breakfast choices were excellent and cooked to perfection - the homemade tomato sauce was particularly nice! The room was clean and warm (we stayed on a cold day in November) and beautifully furnished. The Farmers Arms down the road was also very welcoming and does good pub grub (limited veggie options but a nice veggie curry). Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through this part of the lake District. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Sue & Steve made the perfect hosts at Skiddaw Croft. This B&B is in the ideal location for exploring the Lake District (especially the Northern Lakes, our favourite). The room was very clean and we loved the view. Breakfast was delightful (make sure that you try the homemade marmalade!) and the changes made to the breakfast service to ensure that we felt comfortable during the recent lifting of Covid restrictions couldn't have been better.
Thank you Sue and Steve for making our stay as comfortable and memorable as it could possibly be!

We had a great stay at Skiddaw Croft B&B last weekend. Sue and Steve were lovely hosts who made us feel at home. The room we stayed in had everything we needed, and we had great views of the lake. The breakfasts in the mornings were delicious!

The location is perfect; a 20-minute scenic walk through the fields takes you into Keswick Town, where there are lots of restaurants and pubs to choose from. 5-minutes walk from the B&B, there is an outdoor activities centre, and a lovely spot to sit on the lake.

All in all, I thoroughly recommend Skiddaw Croft B&B and hope to visit again in the future.

Thanks, Sue and Steve!

Fantastic service, lovely and spotless rooms, with lots of natural lighting, and excellent food! The b and b itself is in a wonderful location, with fantastic views and a nice little pub within stumbling distance! Paul and Debbie were extremely welcoming and friendly and helped us feel at home the second we walked through the door! Can’t wait to visit again!

This beautiful B&B is located in Portinscale, just a 20 minute walk outside of Keswick. Sue and Steve were the most amazing hosts, unfortunately the pubs and restaurants had just closed the night before so they kindly set up the breakfast room for us to eat a takeaway in during our stay. They gave us so much helpful information about local walks and hikes as well. The bedrooms were spotless and the views amazing and a lot of choice for breakfast, the full English was delicious! We will definitely be back when visiting the Lake District again. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable.

This month was the first time away from home me and my wife had enjoyed since the start of lockdown. We are huge fans of the lake District and return year on year. This was our first stay in Skiddaw croft and it certainly won't be our last. We were immediately made to feel welcome and the quality of service throughout was second to none.

Steve provided fantastic breakfasts which we were able to order through their new app, no more forgetting to fill in a breakfast form.

The room was very clean and comfortable and we were able to enjoy Sue's homemade ginger cake whilst watching a thunderstorm across the mountains. Speaking of Sue, we are enjoying her homemade marmalade whilst writing this review which we were gifted on departure.

We are looking forward to booking our next visit.

I can honestly say this one of the best B&Bs I've had the pleasure of saying in. Debbie and Paul obviously work extremely hard in making Skiddaw Croft the wonderful place that it is. In a perfect location to boot. Had a great time and will definitely be returning in the future.
Thank you for your outstanding hospitality.

Me and my partner have just returned from a great 3 night stay at Skiddaw Croft B&B! Sue and Steve were very welcoming from the second we arrived and were very helpful with any questions we had about our stay or the local area.
Breakfast was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of choice every morning!
Our room was absolutely spotless and was the perfect home for 3 nights of exploring Keswick.

Will definitely return and would recommend anyone to stay here!!

What a beautiful find , Sue and Steve were absolutely lovely hosts and so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfasts were very tasty and I would definitely recommend the poached eggs with salmon. The rooms were very clean and well decorated. Just a short walk into Keswick and we would not hesitate at going back :)

Had a 2 night stay at this lovely, friendly B&B. The house is very clean and comfortable with some beautiful views. Breakfast was delicious, (veggie option available) The owners still have masks & hand sanitizer to keep guests and themselves safe, which personally I think is a good idea. Portinscale is a lovely peaceful village with an easy flat work to Keswick (£6 taxi return) Thanks to Sue and Steve for a lovely stay. Now we've found you we will be back🙂
