Would highly recommend.

The cafe had a great selection of sweet and savoury dishes, including vegetarian options, and good tea and coffee.

There's also a farm and gift shop next to the cafe worth exploring.

Plenty of racks to leave your bike if you are cycling in the area.

Lovely place to visit. The food in the cafe was delicious, we had breakfast but will return another time to try the lunch menu. Had a nice walk around the farm shop and bought a few bits. Will definitely return and would highly recommend

What can I say, other than this was one of the best bowls of Beef Stew that I have ever tasted! We have eaten in the Farm Cafe several times before, and have always enjoyed the food and the comfortable surroundings. On this occasion, we made a snap decision to call in for lunch. Despite the cafe being very busy, we were greeted by the staff as we entered the building and were seated immediately. The service was prompt and the staff were courteous and friendly, although I occasionally felt they weren't giving us their full attention as they were constantly having to move on to the next customer. We couldn't fault the food, which arrived speedily. My Beef Stew was incredibly chunky, with huge pieces of beef and potato, and it tasted fantastic. My partner opted for the quiche and she was equally impressed. Overall, a wonderful meal and a very pleasant experience. I have no doubt we will return sometime soon.

First return there since the habit was broken by the lockdown. We will definitely start visiting monthly again. As always, excellent light meals in the cafe and wonderful produce in the shop.

Visited here a few times and each time the food has been great. Small seating area for dogs which is seperate but it is warm and comfy. Service is also great.

In a word - EXCELLENT. Considering this is a small cafe in the middle of nowhere, the fact that people were happy to queue and wait to be served, tells a story in its self.
Fantastic food, cakes & drinks with brilliant, helpful service. 25 out of 10. Cyclists love this place too.
A really good pot of tea (2 actually) & a lime & ginger cake, not much of photo, I needed cake😂. No waiting for photos.

We use Roots whenever we head out this way and it is consistently excellent. Delicious home cooked food and friendly helpful staff. Today we had quiche of the day which had been prepared, and was served, by Kay. We both agreed it was the best quiche we had ever tasted. The lemon and blueberry scone was arguably a step too far, but impossible to resist! Two very happy customers.

Scrumptious Homemade Foods, local produce.

We often stop off at Roots for lunch, afternoon coffees and treats and to pop into the butcher for his fantastic produce.
Today I had my first ever “Parmo”, a North East speciality I’ve always ignored, knowing that Roots chicken is of the highest quality I decided to try one here. OH MY WORD! IT WAS SO TASTY, THE JUICIEST CHICKEN SMOTHERED IN BECHAMEL AND THREE TYPES OF SCRUMPTIOUS CHEESE. I ordered the small portion and it was substantial, Fabulous treat, I’ll be back for more. The steak baguette was good too, and as always the salads and chips were delicious. Marmalade Bread and butter pudding was SUPERB, and enormous. Love this place, the service is great, friendly and helpful, it’s always spotless and it’s accessible too, keep up the good work everyone . See you soon for more delicious grub.

Visited Roots on a lunchtime and had an incredible Full English Breakfast. The team were so helpful too, I needed to make an important phone call and couldn't get any signal at all and they very kindly allowed me to use the landline which was a huge relief and help - can't thank them enough! Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in the area.

I took my 7 months old puppy here to help socialise her and they couldn't be more helpful. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor covered area and the library snug. Service and food was great, good selection. Plenty of parking and grass area with picnic tables and space for dogs to run around on leads. Molly got to see some cows from a distance too. Looking forward to going again soon.

Friendly staff and very tasty food. There is some sort of one way system how to enter the cafe which to a large extent is ignored by most people. Can't understand why it is there if all the staff and most guests are ignoring it.
