Calm and peaceful. Take a Toto Rikshaw to travel around Shantiniketan, they are the best guides. We gave 1000/- rupees to a Toto driver and he took us to many places including Birbhum Mandir, raja bari, a museum, etc.

When you see the place, you can understand why Rabindranath used to sit here and do his writing. So beautiful and attractive 😍

This is a place where Tagore meditated. Located exactly opposite the Shantiniketan Museum. Although it is not open to go inside. You have to see from outside.

This Place holds the very essence of our university ..and symbolize the worship of Bramha Upasana ...which was initiated by Maharshi Debendranath Tagore, Father of Gurudev Ravindranath Tagore .. The legacy is still being carried by thousands of students, staffs of our VISVA-BHARATI.. concurrently the chatim leaves (saptaparni) were also given to the students after completion of their degree starting from 12th graduation, post graduation and PhD during convocation... the tradition was started at the time of Gurudev..This tradition has been cumulative behind naming the Chatim tree ... which is Alstonia scholaris.. Scholaris as a species name for its importance towards students achievement. This place has its own aura and spirit... you can feel it while standing here .. Ye apni Apbeeti khud hi Bayan karti hai ...

You can visit here anytime....however I would suggest to visit during 23rd to 25th December because the Upasana of Nirguna Bramha held here during those day and with that the Pous Mela initiated ..

It is one of the spot that symbolizes the starting point of shantiniketon. Beside that one of the oldest part too. Basically used for meditation.

It's a beautiful place, calm and quiet, full of serenity. Must visit for Gurudev-worshippers all over the world. Management part is okay.

Very calm and serene place in bolpur viswa varati. A historical place related to our beloved kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore. A bit disappointed to see that this historical landmark is now closed for tourists from COVID. It will be much more happier if it opens up for all the tourists to feel the serenity by visiting.

Chhatimtala Santiniketan is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Santiniketan. As a tourist, I was fortunate to discover this serene and picturesque place, which quickly became one of my favorite destinations.

The hilltop location of Chhatimtala offers an incredible panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. The sight of the lush greenery and the gentle breeze made for a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's no wonder why Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate poet, and philosopher found this place so inspiring.

The Chhatim tree, which gives the place its name, is truly unique, and it was fascinating to learn about its significance in local folklore. The area is well-maintained, and visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll around the hill or sit on one of the benches to take in the surroundings.

One of the most amazing things about Chhatimtala is its tranquility. It is a perfect spot for meditation and introspection. The serenity of the place is almost contagious, and it felt like a breath of fresh air for my soul.

I highly recommend Chhatimtala Santiniketan to travel atleast once when your are visiting Santiniketan. It is a beautiful and peaceful spot that will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged. It is also an opportunity to connect with the spirit of Rabindranath Tagore and his legacy. So don't miss out on this incredible experience, and make sure to add Chhatimtala to your itinerary

It's a peace haven. Takes a bit of time to reach form Kolkata, but it's worth it totally. For someone who likes to be around nature or just marvel at the sight of the abode of one of the pioneers of Bengal poetry. Chatim Tala stands for the sacred prayer place of the Vishwa Bharati students once led by the great Rabindranath Tagore.
