Nice place... all kind of handmade products, handloom products available... dokra, leather bags, jute products, acrylic, glass, metal... the garments section is quite big and products like kurta, punjabi, shawl, saree available... products are a bit expensive except the garments section where one can get kurtas in Rs. 200...

Ample amount of car parking available free of cost...

A food canteen available... must try Milk tea @ Rs. 20... authentic pickles, ghee, honey, Nolen gur available...

Overall a must visit in Shantiniketan... chao.

Nice collections of local artisan crafts over a very broad range of prices. Some of the things are old though, probably needs better upkeep. Employees are helpful.

Located at Santiniketan,bolpur. They provide good quality products varying from clothes to showpieces and jewellery. Price is little bit on higher side but collection is huge. You can easily choose gift from this shop. Also can have home decor items. Overall nice experience.

Amar Kutir located on the banks of the Kopai river, about 1 kilometres from Sonajuri hat in Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Amar Kutir also a historical place.
Sushen Mukherjee, the founder of Amar Kutir was born late in the eighteenth century, hailing from a remote suburb of Calcutta City.
After India gained independence from the British, Amar Kutir became a cooperative to rejuvenate and develop rural handicrafts, reflecting the ideals of self–help and sustainable rural development advocated by Tagore.

Amazing stuff in all category, be it clothing, leather and any item you buy from there is worth. One must visit and buy. Lot of gifting articles. I loved the place. Great help to d artisans. God bless all who take care of this initiative

It’s a treasure place for those are love boutique & handmade products. Price are reasonable place is also very peaceful. It’s besides the ‘kopai river’ (কোপাই নদির তীরে). Kavi guru Rabindrnaath Tegor has written many poem & stories in this place.

Amar Kutir is basically a hub of handicraft goods. You can buy amazing leather prodcuts, Katha Stitch clothes etc. The place is very peaceful with good people working there. you can also visit the place where they make the products. It was an amazing experience.

A very good place to buy local hand crafted materials and sarees, punjabi and other dress materials, leather bags. A little high price but quality of goods are excellent. Product qualities are far far better than the products available in Sonajhuri Haat or any other road side shops. Visit all the places and compare the products and you will feel the difference. Employees are well behaved. Every thing you get under one roof. A "must visit" place for women 😃😃

A hidden chapter of our history of independence. The museum is a great one and the collection is worthy of a major shock to the generation grown up with the fabricated history written by the paid and pet historians about our struggle of independence. The erstwhile village self help group has developed as a co-operative society and presenly provides a variety of handicrafts produced locally mostly by the women self help groups of surrounding villages. The place is presently known mostly by these magnificent handicrafts, though the piece of history is equally described boldly in this historic campus. A must visit once you are in and around Shantiniketan.
