I cannot fathom the negative reviews of this place! I really was expecting a disappointing stay based on these reviews, but my experience has been nothing short of spectacular. I’m currently at the hotel on my honeymoon, and we’ve been treated perfectly. Cold water served to us upon arrival (thankful after the stairs), and helpful staff to show us around the hotel and show us on a map ways to get around. Rooms are beautiful and clean, shower is hot with great pressure, there are cozy bathrobes, and the bed was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, a large selection of baked goods as well as eggs, sausage, and the typical cheese/meat combo. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and it was incredible- very tasty food and wine, beautiful view, very friendly staff. I honestly don’t think I can find a single thing to really complain about! Yes it’s expensive but that is typical for the area, but you’re getting your moneys worth for sure. Yes there are stairs but… duh? How could there not be…? 100/10, would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in September 2023 and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were always professional and friendly. The rooms and entire hotel were very clean, and the restaurant patio had a great dinner menu and even better views! As with many places in Positano, be prepared for going up and down a lot of stairs each day!!

We loved Hotel Conca D’Oro! The views from our balcony and from the dining room/balcony were spectacular! Our room was perfect, comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The room was meticulously cleaned each day by the time we had finished breakfast. We requested laundry service one day and it was done nicely(20 euro for one bag). We enjoyed our daily breakfast buffet and appreciated the hard work of our servers Salvatore and Rosario as well as the rest of the staff. The daily room charge was on par for Positano (if not less). Yes there are steps you have to climb in Positano. Have the hotel arrange for a porter service to transport your luggage if you’re traveling by ferry to Positano. Many great restaurants and shops are close to the hotel.

I would like to express my utmost appreciation for the wonderful cooperation I experienced with your hotel during the recent wedding I photographed. As a wedding photographer, I have worked with various venues and establishments, and I must say that your hotel exceeded all expectations in terms of service, professionalism, and the exceptional assistance provided by your staff.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my gratitude to your diligent concierge, Oleg, for his outstanding efforts in locating and returning my lost drone. Losing such a valuable piece of equipment was a moment of panic for me, but Oleg's dedication and attentiveness in locating the drone and ensuring its safe return the following day were truly commendable. His swift actions and genuine care for my belongings showcased the level of service and reliability that your hotel exemplifies.
Moreover, the overall organization of the wedding was impeccable. From the initial planning stages to the execution of the event, your staff demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism and attention to detail. They went above and beyond to accommodate the couple's requests, ensuring that every aspect of the wedding was meticulously arranged. The seamless coordination between your team and the wedding planners created a stress-free environment, allowing me to focus on capturing the beautiful moments of the day.
Throughout my time at the hotel, I encountered a team of dedicated professionals who displayed a genuine passion for their work. From the receptionists who warmly welcomed me upon arrival to the attentive waitstaff who ensured that all guests were well taken care of, everyone contributed to the overall success of the wedding. The high level of service extended to not only the wedding party but also to all guests in attendance, creating a delightful experience for everyone involved.
The exceptional cooperation I experienced at your hotel has left a lasting impression on me, and I will undoubtedly recommend your venue to future clients seeking an unforgettable wedding experience. The combination of a stunning location, impeccable service, and a team that truly understands the importance of every detail sets your hotel apart from the rest.
Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible assistance provided by Oleg and the exceptional teamwork demonstrated by your staff. Thank you for making my experience as a wedding photographer a memorable and successful one.

Whoever complains about this place definitely did not do their research on Positano. This hotel is fabulous!! The day we arrived it was pouring. There was a porter from the hotel waiting for us at the bottom of the steps. He was a gem & took our bags up. We were welcomed by a well deserved glass of water after the trek up the steps (which I will say was not all that bad considering the steps are not steep- I expected much worse, granted we didn’t have to worry about our luggage. We got a free upgrade without asking and then came back down to a marvelous fine dining experience for lunch. This is definitely not a holiday inn! Coming from a hotel in Praiano (which is also beautiful) this place does offer more modern touches and that’s what you pay for when you stay in Positano; the views and comforts. Our room felt very romantic with marvelous views from our balcony. What stood out over our other hotel were the impressive walk in shower, modern hair dryers and with bath robes. The electric kettle and instant coffee in the rooms are the norm for the region. They had them in our 5 Star hotel in Rome too! Positano is beautiful and this is a fantastic hotel! The front desk is also super helpful! They accommodate taxi upon request and helped us immensely in rescheduling our cooking class; when we had language barrier difficulties with our instructor over the phone.
I do still recommend staying in other town as well so you can notice the differences.

Typical southern Italian decorated rooms! Beautiful view of Positano. Getting to the beach and back to the hotel does require some physical activity, you do have to climb some stairs, but this is the case everywhere in Positano! Wonderful restaurant and nice balcony in the room!

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. 108 steps to get there though but the luggage porters are there to help with luggage! The view is amazing.

Very good experience here. The room was beautifully decorated upon our arrival with 2 swans and rose petals on the bed to celebrate our recent marriage. Such a nice touch! The view in our room and outdoor balcony was breathtaking and the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning and wine in the evenings. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Room service was very quick within 15 minutes of ordering our evening chamomile tea. This hotel is about a 10 minute (very charming) walk to Fornillo Beach and 20 minute walk to Spaggia Grande. There is a path from Fornillo Beach that takes you to Spaggia Grande along the ocean or you can go down the winding road past all the shops. Alot of reviews mention the 100+ steps to get to the hotel lobby. From what we learned in Positano, the higher the climb the better the view - so just be prepared if you are booking this hotel. They do provide a porter to carry your bags up and down so please be sure to have cash for a tip! The hotel itself is lovely but not centrally located as it is near the top of the mountain. If you are looking for a more private and quiet Positano experience then this location could be perfect for you because it is not near the touristic area. So it depends what you are looking for. We also dined here at the hotel’s restaurant Orama one night which is considered high end dining. Beautiful presentation and delicious food with a great view. The pasta portion was small but again it was delicious. I would recommend having a large lunch that day if you have a reservation here. Photos of everything attached because our stay in Positano was overall magical! Thank you to the staff for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay and a wonderful room. The view was breathtakingly perfect. We loved the room and the view and dinner and everything was just amazing. Everyone we encountered there was lovely to interact with. We could not be happier with our experience there, and we can't wait to go back!

There's one thing you'll have to accept coming to Positano is cost! Once you wrap your head around that you'll love everything Positano and Conca D'Oro have to offer. From the faultless breakfasts, views, service, rooms and air-conditioning - the hotel has history, but they are maintaining the charm and functionality in perfect balance.

Our room had a balcony and jacuzzi, which was lovely for an afternoon aperitivo and dip, and there is nothing like waking up and seeing all of Positano from your doors!

The rooms are standard in size, with some having larger bathrooms than others. The staff were focused, but polite. The bellboys running the suitcases up from the street deserve their tips! No way we were dragging bags up those stairs, as the hotel is right at the top of the hill!

All in all a great hotel to base yourself when exploring the Amalfi Coast!

I had my wedding at this hotel, at the terrace. Arianna helped us with many requests and is very professional. She knows what she is doing and in terms of wedding dinner etc. you are in good hands there. In fact, all my expectations have been exceeded and I had my dream wedding and the best day of my life so far!

We had our wedding reception here in October and I cannot say enough good things. Arianna and the staff throughout the entire planning experience and on the night of were amazing and the food was incredible. The views were immaculate as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better reception. If you’re planning a wedding in Positano, put this place at the top of your list!

Absolutely loved the place and hospitality. We stayed here for one night and the view from the room was breath taking. The balcony outside the room was spacious where you can easily spend the whole day. The service was top class and I highly recommend this place if you are planning to stay in the region. Only con is that it is a bit far away from the beach. Though, the view from hotel is so amazing that you would not want to go anywhere.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in Positano and had a wonderful time! We had a room with a terrace which is definitely what I would recommend if staying in this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel restaurant is also wonderful with great food and a spectacular view. We would definitely stay here again if we were back in the area!

The only downside to the view is that there are quite a lot of steps. From the road, the steps are manageable so if you don't want to walk a ton of steps to get to the beach I would suggest taking the long way by taking the road down to the beach however if you want to go straight down to the beach there are over 500 steps. My husband and I are in our mid 20s so didn't mind it but if could be difficult for someone who was older.

Amazing! The hotel was so perfect and wonderful. We eloped to Positano and used the hotel for our symbolic ceremony and to start off our honeymoon. The balcony from the hotel was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony overlooking all of Positano and made for the most spectacular wedding photos.

The staff went above and beyond making sure our stay was perfect and helping me arrange flowers and other vendors.

They surprised us and our photography team with complimentary champagne when we arrived and after our nuptials.

They all made sure we were taken card of the whole stay from steaming my wedding dress, carrying our luggage up all the Positano stairs and giving us the best city recommendations to enjoy.

They made our wedding day perfect and we are looking forward to returning for our anniversary in the future.

Paradise! My husband and I stayed here after traveling around Italy for 10 days. This hotel had the most comfortable beds, beautiful views, helpful and friendly staff. Our view was similar to those you see on Instagram that you think have to be embellished because they are so perfect. Thank you so much! We'd love to come back some day!

My wife and I stayed here for 6 days, overall the experience was a good one!
First, the bad. There wasn't much bad about this hotel but there were a few things that weren't great. It is a bit of a hike from the nearest street, up a lot of stairs! If you aren't in good physical condition, (can't climb stairs) do not stay here! The hallways are a little cramped and the elevator is tiny, the rooms are a bit small by American standards but about average for Europe. If you like wide open spaces, do not stay here! We had a private balcony with a spectacular view, and ants... lots of ants. If ants, spiders, and lizards freak you out, do not stay here! The walls are a little thin, you WILL hear your neighbors. If you want to party in private, do not stay here! The WiFi is HORRIBLE, slow and inconsistent, in the lobby it is OK and maybe other rooms were better, but in OUR room it was mostly useless. If you are an information junkie, do not stay here! (unless you want to camp in the lobby)
Now the good. The staff is very friendly and polite, they will help you as much as they can and do their best for you. They can not work miracles but can help you with many things, they will book tours for you and give you advice on local restaurants and such. The view is beyond awesome, you can see all of Positano and on a clear day you can see all the way to Sicily! The restaurant is adequate. My food was very good, my wife had the swordfish and it wasn't the best. All in all, a good experience but try other restaurants too, there are many very good ones in Positano. The maid service is good and quick, they try to come while you are at breakfast, which is free and usually pretty good. Enough variety to keep you interested but nothing really excellent, pretty good for a free deal. You can ask for eggs and other hot dishes which are a little extra. The bed was not the most comfortable (two smaller beds pushed together) but by European standards better than average. There is a television in the room with two channels of English speaking programming. BBC news and CNN news, but really, who cares, you aren't there to watch TV anyway. The shower was hot and water pressure was OK. They give you soap and shampoo and the towels were nice. There is a hot tub you can use and plenty of deck space for sunning.
The walk to into town is all down hill and takes 20 minutes or so, the walk back is UP hill and takes a lot longer but there is a bus that runs every day and will drop you near the hotel.
So, all in all a good value for the money and a very nice place to stay.

We love the Hotel. Nice, big rooms, balcony or French balcony, very clean, free WiFi, great service. They're 110 steps up to the hotel so you need to manage stairs, but there's stairs all over the City Positano.
