The beef cheek literally melted in mouth. The tiramisu was spot on.
Great wines too.

We just had one of the best experiences in Italy at this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service outstanding. The owner of the restaurant is a true food and beverage passionate. The waitress is the sweetest lady ever. People that own and work here are wonderful human beings. The quality of the ingredients used in every dish is impeccable. Plates are perfectly balanced in flavor and served with a beautiful presentation. From the wine, starters, main dishes, desserts, until the coffee served at La Bucaccia are incredible. Hopefully one day we can go back to such amazing place. Thank you so much Romano, Ali and the entire staff behind it.

We just had the most wonderful meal at this delightful restaurant! It's so unbelievably charming. The decor is out of a storybook. And the owner is so fun, gregarious, ebullient and friendly -- sees that everyone is attended to and having a great time. And the food is absolutely the best. Gorgeous presentation. Everything is as delicious as it is beautiful. We got the mixed vegetable flan for an appetizer and it was quite possibly the best thing we've ever eaten. Picture attached. Have dinner here. You won't be disappointed.

The slice stake and the beef check was AMAZING! I few like anything on the menu are good! I will come back to try other things!!

If I could give more stars to the food and service, I would. The owner, Romano, is the sweetest man. He definitely puts on a show and makes you enjoy dinner not only by providing the best food, but also the best humor. The best restaurant in Cortona and the best meal I had in Italy!

We arrived at 8pm on a Sunday evening without an reservation... they told us there was a 20 minute wait. No problem, after 25min we were seated inside. The place has lovely food! Everything from starter tot dessert was delicious. They have many tartare options, we tried 2 of them (both delicious). As a main course I had ravioli with truffle. Probably the best truffle pasta I have had. Would definitely recommend.

Oh my goodness, if you are anywhere near Cortona you have to stop at this restaurant! Best pasta and the absolute best tiramisu I've ever had in my life. The owner and staff are very friendly and such an amazing atmosphere.

La Bucaccia is definitely a must-visit if you are anywhere near the city of Cortona. First off, the city is nestled in the mountainside so the views are amazing but, walking through the cobblestone city is a wonderful experience in itself. We came across La Bucaccia during our last night in Cortona as we were walking through the town. Since it was our last night in Italy so we wanted to have an amazing dining experience one last time. We never expected to be welcomed by the owner who was one of the nicest people I’d ever met in my life. The waiting list was long but he poured us a glass of wine and said he would seat us as soon as possible in the outdoor seating (best views). Once we were seated, he recommended the best two dishes on the menu to pair with our wine. We started with the mushrooms which were drizzled in olive oil and came with a side sauce that was delicious. Our main course was the beef cheek and the Senese Pork. The pictures alone do not do the courses justice. The beef was so tender I could cut it with my fork and the pork was so full of flavor that we were eating it off the bone. The food and the experience were a pleasant end to an already amazing trip to Italy. I can’t wait to go back to the city of Cortona just to eat at La Bucaccia again.

OMG!!! Just OMG! I left this place 4 days ago and i have been showing/talking to everyone about this damn place. There is a reason why it holds a Michelin STAR…. Book in advance…. I had the tomahawk…..f@(king Amazing

Very nice food and very friendly owners. I guess it's owned by a husband and wife. They seem to work hard and they do a great job. Excellent hosts! Good size portions. I'd definitely be back if I'm ever again in Cortona. The eggplant antipasta was surprisingly amazing!

Great location, the restaurant had loads of atmosphere and fantastic decor. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the proprietor was a card. Food was delicious and the wine selection was something else. All the food is locally sourced and cooked in a traditional Tuscan manner. Can understand why all the Michelin awards. Hope you enjoy your day

All the superlatives and all the descriptions will not suffice to describe and illustrate the quality and enjoyment of the dishes served here.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant completes the charm that surrounds this ancient and special town.

We stopped in for a light lunch and it was amazing. We sat out on their small terrace and soaked up the view down the narrow street to the Tuscan plain below. Beautiful. The wine recommendation a nice Syrah was excellent. The Eggplant Parmigiana was melt in your mouth so delicious. The local mushrooms atop a delicate house made pasta were so good. We were then talked into a just arrived Tiramisu also delicious.

We had three meals here during our two weeks stay in Cortona.
The owner Romano was very friendly, funny and fully of characters. I did see him got overwhelmed sometimes because they were short staffed.
Each time I ordered Papperdella with porcini mushroom. it is not on the menu but he did it for me anyway.
Twice it was cooked perfectly and once was undercooked and the pasta sticked together.
The duck breast was just OK.
Chocolate cake was phenomenal!

The owner was very animated tonight! Food was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Wine recommendations were excellent. The porcini mushrooms were fresh tonight! It was a lovely evening. The only negative thing I can think of is it can get a little bit loud if the restaurant is full. Highly recommend. Great experience.

Beautiful restaurant. Sit inside it's lovely. Like being in a beautiful wine cellar. The menu is great. I had the best tartar of my life. Every dish is beautifully presented and simply delicious. We had the cheese flan which was like a really good soufflé and the ravioli was perfect. This is a must visit restaurant.

We ordered one deer tartar, two pastas (one with black truffle and one with porcini) and one Tiramisu, alongside two glasses of red wine (sirah). Everything was delicious, hospitality was great, when we came to counter to pay we were greeted with two small glasses of amaro on the house! In addition, sitting outside was quiet and intimate, simply perfect. We booked the table through the website about 3 weeks in advance.

An absolutely fantastic dining experience. Each dish had something special in their flavors that really elevated the dishes. The tartare with pecorino cream was amazing, we also enjoyed the eggplant parmesan. We let the waiter help us with the entrees and wine selection and he did an excellent job. We also really enjoyed the desserts. The tiramisu was a unique twist that was really good and the chocolate cake was beautiful to see and delicious to eat. The location really felt like you were being transported back in time. It's no wonder this place has a wall of awards, they are well deserved!

This place was so great. The food was amazing, the service was even better. I made our reservations several months in advance and they got right back to me. I had to update the reservation a few weeks before and they replied right away and was able to accommodate the change. It was such a great experience that I will always remember.

Incredible food and excellent wine selection served in a quaint historical location. We loved everything we had here! If you can get a reservation, this restaurant is highly recommended.
