Danielle at the front desk was so helpful to these clueless American tourists. Her bright welcoming smile was a pleasure to start the day. Our room had an amazing view and the hotel location was ideal. And on top of that the use of the sister hotel Regina down the street for the use of their pool was the icing on the cake !

Wonderful historic hotel overlooking the Lake and oppodite the ferry terminal.
I cannot praise this hotel enough. It is ideally located and oozes old world charm. It is in very close proximity to the Lake, town, cafes and restaurants, so is the perfect location for a trip to Stresa.
Breakfast is plentiful and service, perfect. Everything is charming.
The rooms are peaceful and reference times gone by. They all have good internet, tvs, and great showers. These are not super-up-to-date, but are perfectly servicable, clean, and comfortable. Who really wants any more when you can sit on the balcony, look at Lake Maggiore and watch the world go by?
I have stayed here twice and dream of this hotel. It is totally unique.

Great location for an easy stroll to the palaces, Duomo and Mole. Good buffet breakfast. Value for money. Two minutes from the railway station or parking if driving - charges apply.

We struck lucky with this hotel. Location excellent, staff very helpful and seem genuinely happy in their work. Hotel clean and air con very good. Parking and pool located at another hotel very close by, easy walking distance - pool area well maintained and pool attendant ensuring beds available. Really liked this hotel and the price was very competitive compared with others in stresa. Would highly recommend and would look there before anywhere else in the same area. Thank you to all the staff, you were brilliant!

Fantastic location, literally 30 seconds to ferry terminal, couple of minutes to the main squares, restaurants bars etc. 5 minutes to train station and a leisurely 15 minute stroll to the chair lift. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size and looked out onto one of the side streets, was clean, comfortable and quiet. Just remember if hi want the air con on you need to ask at reception. Breakfast was the usual continental buffet style and was good and plentiful. If you stay half board you really won't need to go anywhere else to eat, the restaurant was great, the staff were really attentive and the quality of the food and service was really good. Also the price of wine /beer at dinner was reasonable. All in all an excellent hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at this amazing place! The staff in general was very friendly. Lucia was great, she was extremely helpful with booking my ride to the airport, printing my PCR test and making great suggestions about places to go. Thanks to her I didn't have to worry about those small things and was able to enjoy Stresa and the magical Borromean Islands. I'm planning to go back and would love to stay at this hotel again. Loved my room, the interior design and how clean it was.

Enjoyed my stay at Milan Au Lac very much.
This is a classical building looking at the lake or the narrow streets of the old town, with elegant interiors. I booked a simple single and was given a better room, free of charge, which had a balcony with a great lake view. What a beautiful touch!
The staff is amazing, quick, professional and smiling. They weighed my luggage, gave me an extra blanket, printed the boarding pass, and I could even talk about the maintaining of the Isola Madre at night with a nice reception employee. Bravo!
The quality of breakfast is excellent. I particularly liked these tiny donuts and this nice detail of serving walnuts with cheeses. Thanks to the efficient waiters' team.

Great location as it's near the main ferry to get to Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Isola Superiore. The hotel staff are warm and friendly. The cleaning staff was very affectionate and kind when we asked for a warmer blanket. Room was clean and comfortable. And the lake view was incredible.

Very clean, very sweet and helpful staff. No two rooms are alike though so it's the luck of the draw. Some people in our group got views of the water while others got an alley view or the side of the church. Some rooms are bright and some are dark. Not really a huge deal considering you don't spend much time in your room anyway. Our room was a great size, by typical European standards.

There is free WiFi and air conditioning but the WiFi was out for a day and a half and when it was working it was a snail's pace at best. That said, I was really glad to have it at all.

The air conditioning allegedly exists and there's a dial but I don't think it did much. It was May, so luckily not a huge deal. We had the windows open but the hotel is in an amazing location where the shops and restaurants/bars are... Which means that it's much too noisy to sleep with them open. 10 out of 10 for sound proof windows though! Your nighttime options are: quiet and stuffy or noisy and cool.

As I mentioned, location is amazing and walkable to everything. The boat terminal is literally across the street and there's no shortage of cafes, shops, restaurants right outside. There's even a bank and a grocery store.

Tip- the rooms don't come with a fridge but it's in the fine print somewhere that you can just request one. We did that and a fridge arrived within the hour. Would totally stay here again.

Hotel was one of the best, overlooking the lake we had a super time, staff at the hotel are just great n so helpful. Basic continental breakfast, n lovely evening meal, the church is next door n you can hear the chimes, so convenient for shopping or eating out its just so brilliant lots to do in Stresa. We went as a group n loved every minute of it xx

Great hotel with wonderful personnel. Mr. Mefail is a brilliant person! He helped me and my wife to find a last minute accommodation, with a convenient price! He welcomed us warmly and supported during our stay. We will come back to this place for sure! Thanks Mr. Mefail!

This is a classic italian Hotel. It was clean, with good service and friendly people. If you stay there, you can park your car in a garage and you use the pool from a big hotel 150 meters away. If you have a room with sea view you have the best view from the 3 and 4 floor. Please see my pictures

Wonderful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, had a beautiful corner room overlooking lake. Quiet despite being on main road. Very good breakfast and coffee.
