This was our second visit to Il Falconiere, and they did not disappoint - exceptional in every way. Dinner was a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Breakfast is wonderful, and we enjoyed the pool and spa. Be sure to make reservations for dinner, lunch and wine tasting well before you arrive. We will most definitely return.

Amazing. Stayed here as part of our honeymoon road trip through Greece and Italy in August 2023 and this was one of the favorite parts of the trip! Restaurant is fantastic, scenery was peaceful and beautiful, great location for day trips throughout Tuscany. Close to Cortona for some evening dinner + drinks in the city itself, highly recommended!

Our travel agent booke this amazing spot for us and what a time we had! The views are spectacular. We stayed in the original buildings which were so sweet and authentic. The shower was tiny but otherwise very comfortable. We dined at the restaurant and had the most amazing dinner. They allowed us to swap our main to try the pigeon (their specialty) and it was fantastic. The reception staff was so sweet and helpful to us. I liked the candles in the reception and ceramic art in restaurant and she told me exactly where to buy the candles in Florence (which was another fantastic spot to visit- Santa Maria Novella Farmacia) and helped us order the ceramic art from restaurant (same price as we found in Pienza so I know they didn’t mark it up). We lost bracelet (I am almost certain I was pick pocketed now in Cortana) but they bent over backwards helping me look for it.

If you’re in the area spend at least two nights here and take advantage of the activities they have to offer this resort and the surrounding area are well worth the price of admission. We loved everything about this place, the people, the food, the activities, etc.

Our room was gorgeous, the views are stunning and the service is top-notch.

The restaurant is incredible, it had one Michelin star and it deserves two if not more! The food was outstanding, the services was perfect and the views were breathtaking.

We did a wine tour and cooking class while we stayed here and I can’t recommend these enough. If you can do both, do both! It was such a special experience for my husband and I.

Amazing property. If you want a break from the long lines and crowds of Florence and Rome and enjoy the quiet of the Tuscan hills, this is the place.

Great service, elegant setting. Tried the Autumn 2023 Arruzo menu and there were some highlights.

The Chef complained about the plating of the risotto after the meal, but we wouldn't of noticed because it was one of the best things of the entire night. All the dishes were infused with flavor and aroma. The peach dessert was a stunning dish as well.

Some at the table didn't think the salted cod agreed with their preferences, but personally it was one of the best bites of cod I have ever tasted. The Red Snapper was more of a crowd pleaser.

The presentation from start to finish was exemplary. The long stone walk way into the restaurant allows you to capture the beautiful hills of Cortona. The food was the best. Liver, ox, rabbit, lamb, beef… it’s all great and you can’t go wrong. The staff is very friendly and happy to answer questions about the wine or the food to please your curiosity. It’s a must visit.

I can’t help but feel like anything less than a 5* review is in bad faith. This property is astoundingly beautiful. Everything is done with taste, attention to detail and generosity in mind.

The restaurant is deserving of another Michelin star (but is open-air. So be wary of that under the hot Tuscan sun in the summer months).

The views are straight from a postcard. Sweeping and breathtakingly beautiful.

If you have the chance to do a cooking class with the chef, she is kind and generous with her extensive knowledge and experience. She uses only the most local and fresh products and teaches you how to sublimate them into the traditional Italian dishes you have spent your life eating. But never like this.

The service is impeccable and anticipates every need.

The only point I would advise being aware of is if you are a person of reduced mobility, you will have to make a plan with the staff in advance as there are long walks from one part of the property to another. If you don’t have mobility issues, this is a joy as you walk amongst olive trees and grape vines. You can buy the olive oil and wine produced by these trees and vines on-site.

Il Falconiere is the best Tuscany has to offer. It is pricy, sure, but you get what you pay for and more.

A beautiful experience from start to finish. You'll stay on an amazing Tuscan hillside amidst a thriving vinyard and Michelin star restaurant that lives up to it's pedigree. An amazing breakfast with all one could ask for is served in a beautiful glass enclosed great room with views of the countryside. Our villa was impeccably tended to with a gorgeous bathroom that felt like an ancient grotto. Beautiful people, food, wine, and land.

Amazing B&B, Vineyard and Restaurant!
The wines are spectacular so visit for a wine tour and sampling. If you have time, I highly recommend doing lunch with a 3-course menu. And wine pairing. It was divine!

The restaurant is a Michelin star restaurant beautifully located on the property. The chef pays attention to his customer needs and takes the time to visit each table to make sure they are well taken care of. The service was impeccable and the staff was very attentive to our needs and comfort.

Would have loved to stay here overnight but we were not in the area long enough. The B&B grounds are located in the vineyards … what more can you ask for!

We couldn’t get through on the phone or email so we just turned up for a wine tour but it was SO worth it. The tour was really interesting, the wine was delicious and the lunch after was fabulous. The service (once we were there) was brilliant, the setting is stunning and they catered well for us vegetarians. In the end it was a real highlight of our trip.

We stayed here from the 4th to the 7th of June and it was a really wonderful experience. If you're looking for a beautiful, historic property in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, this is the place! Every window from our room had sweeping views of the surroundings. It really did look like it was right out of a movie. Waking up to those views every morning was a dream. Luckily the weather (while unseasonably warm) wasn't unbearable and while air conditioning generally in Italy is not quite as robust as in the United States we had no issues with the climate control during our stay.
We arrived a little late to check in due to a train delay but once we arrived the staff could not have been more accommodating. Everyone was warm and friendly to us the entire stay. We happened to get there while they were setting up for a wedding on the property and knowing they would have music playing late into the evening the front desk offered to either provide us with room service if we didn't feel up to going out or provide a private car service and make us reservations at a local restaurant in Cortona. We opted to go out and the restaurant they recommended was one of my favorite stops of the trip and really, who wouldn't enjoy a beautiful evening in Cortona?
We signed up to take a cooking class with Sylvia during our stay and I would highly, highly recommend this. We were only signed up for one day out of a three day course and due to a slight miscommunication with the front desk we did arrive about 15 minutes late. Sylvia and the rest of the class didn't miss a beat welcoming us in and making space for us. They got us up to speed in no time and I had the most amazing risotto of my life! It was such a wonderful experience I'm considering booking another trip just to take advantage of the full 3 day course. My only regret is that we forgot to ask for our recipes from the front desk at checkout!! If you take the full course you get a diploma and a recipe booklet but as a drop in on the course we were supposed to pick up the recipe at checkout. Don't forget this, you'll never forgive yourself.
Speaking of food, the Michelin starred restaurant on property is absolutely breathtaking and the food and service is top quality. It was my first experience at a Michelin starred restaurant to be honest so I may be easy to please but it was everything I thought it would be. Breakfast is served in the restaurant every morning and the views (and food) are spectacular. Our entire stay was really extraordinary and I can't wait to go back.

My wife & I booked a wine tasting at the Baracchi winery, situated by the hotel. The grounds & view are simply stunning and the wine tasting & tour were excellently compered by the Baracchi representative. This was in spite of an adjacent & rather irritating English female tourist who decided to conduct a ridiculous conversation on her mobile phone for all to hear, drowning out the Baracchi wine compere, on the trials & tribulations of her dog Trevor! One hopes indeed, that Trevor is hail & hearty.👍

Despite the aforementioned disturbance, it was a lovely tour & tasting & I would thoroughly recomend you take time out to try it.

Very nice Tuscan accommodation. Loved the breakfast and pretty much everything about it. Best to have a car if you want to check out areas around it like Cortona.

Our honeymoon stay was incredible. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to help with anything and everything. Our room was gorgeous and we were given an upgrade upon arrival which was very generous. Throughout our entire stay we felt like we were living in a storybook, the grounds are impeccable and breathtaking. We cannot wait to come back!

Immediately we were entranced by the beauty of the grounds and the professional staff. Jessica and Santa greeted us and led us to our gorgeous suite of rooms. Suite 2 was complete with a living room furnished with antiques, refridgerator, coffee area and bar. The bedroom and bath were immaculate and came with a heated towel rack. The bedroom also gave access to our own personal garden.

AnnaMaria, who runs the resort, gave us a very friendly welcome complete with a history of the Falconiere. She also served us a beautiful appetizer as she told us of the latest events of the past week. Then we were introduced to Sylvia.

Sylvia is the Head Chef and owner of Il Falconiere and gave us the most fantastic three days of cooking classes one could ask for. Her knowledge of Tuscan cuisine is endless. Fabrazio was also instructing at the classes as her assistant. All ingrediaents are fresh and found on the grounds! Herbs are in all of the flower beds, hens are in a special section of the yard for fresh eggs on demand. Sylvia is the author of at least 2 cookbooks, and we left with copies of both.

The wine tour was informative, happy and short. We loved the estate even more after the info on the vineyard and the sparkling wine.

Nicolo took care of the pool and all the people surrounding it.

In the evening, we found ourselves loving Gianni and his creative cocktails. Paolo is the Maitre 'd and have us beautiful accommodations each night for dinner. His suggestions were perfect for us. Sammi is the baker there and we were never disappointed.

Our last day was spent having a couple's massage, though it couldn't be together because of COVID rules. Still, it was completely relaxing and was followed by a wine bath! Just do it!

We are looking forward to another stay at Il Falconiere. Perhaps we will see the town next time, but then again, why change anything!

Grazie mille, Il Falconiere!

We every minute of our experience and Il Falconiere

We didn't want to leave. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful grounds and vistas, even the mules were remarkable. Getting to know the Barrachi family - chefs, vintners--everyone was genuinely friendly. The food is indescribable--all fresh & authentic. We took a cooking class and I've never had so much fun learning how to roll pasta, sample wines, & make homemade limoncello to name a few we prepared to eat and enjoy for lunch. If it were possible, I would stay here forever.

A hotel with unique features!
The staff is very friendly and the hotel is beautiful with a large outdoor area, with 2 outdoor pools and an indoor pool (which was my favorite). It is well located near Cortona and the excellent restaurant stands out.
