Preludio Restaurant

This place is soo nice! I like how it’s decorated, especially the plates, which are adorable. The menu is very interesting, with dishes you won’t find everywhere. I recommend the pigeon. Big thanks to our waitress, who recommended us Le Celle, it was lovely!

We had the six course tasting menu - Il Preludio. The complementary green bean soup is outstanding so is the smoked goose breast. The following three dishes are all creamy taste to me. I would prefer a bit variety to my taste buds. Also the beef fillet has a fine tendon in it so it’s hard to chew. Overall the food is good and service is outstanding.

The decor, food and service are exquisite. Our villa host recommended this lovely restaurant on our first night. It was so enjoyable we returned three more times. Marcella’s service was top notch every time. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Nella. Every dish, from plentiful antipasti to pasta, meat and dessert were all outstanding. The cheese fondue is heaven on earth! Our family friend, two teens and ourselves enjoyed every visit. Highly recommend for upscale and very pleasant dining.

We stumbled upon this gem by accident. We only realized once we sat down that it was a fine dining establishment with several dining experiences to chose from(they also have an à la carte menu). We had the chef’s selection and it was probably one of the top 5 culinary experiences of my life.

Food & Presentation: we were really impressed by their Versace underplates that we asked them if we could purchase some (unfortunately they are custom made for Preludio and we would have had to wait a couple of days). Each dish was well crafted and one of the people with me couldn’t eat pork so they were very accommodating with that.

Service: the service was great. Meals are brought out in a timely manner but it doesn’t feel like you are being rushed.

Overall: would HIGHLY recommend this place if you are willing so broaden your horizons with cuisine, 9/10.

Amazing dining experience with beautifully created dishes. Perfect fillet steak with foie gras and truffle. Pumpkin veloute starter was the star ! Chocolate dome dessert was too chocolaty and dense for me

Five stars plus! Recommended by our Air B and B host, Preludio did not disappoint. The cheese soufflé with truffles was sublime as was the amuse bouche. Very professional and helpful service. I enjoyed the pistachio crusted rack of lamb as did 4 others in our group. The grilled porcini and mixed vegetables were also delightful. Excellent value and lots of wonderful surprise extras including a bubbly, amuse bouche and a digestive ! The recommend house red wine went perfectly with the lamb. My only regret is that we were so full that we didn’t get dessert. Hopefully we will get to go back before we leave Tuscany.

We had such a lovely dinner here! They kindly accommodated us on our last night in Cortona without a reservation. (We went early!) The cheese soufflé with truffle is unforgettable, and asparagus soup light and lovely. Husband had the ragù, me the mushroom tagliatelle, both simple but very tasty. As I wasn’t entirely familiar with Brunellos, they suggested a wine that was outstanding. The chocolate sphere dessert is delicious and beautiful, and they gave us many sips of things! We had sparkling wine, moscato, wine, grappa, and amaro. So fun! We floated out. 😄 Thank you to everyone there, so kind and so memorable!

This restaurant was another great surprise in the old part of Cortona,just pay attention to the details in the pictures and for sure it makes sense. Smashing service while seated and pampered like a King and served with delicious,formidable food ,the smell of it was already an amazing experience,adding that succulent flavor on your palate and you reached the ecstasy,the quality was really excellent no doubt. The most amazing part of it was the final bill that was according to me a gift because the prices are more than fair and in this case it was cheap. This place is a “must ” if close by without doubts and my recommendation is a top go.

Without doubt the best deserts I have seen within 100km of here and the cost of 7 euro incl a decent size glass of desert wine so fantastic value for money. Service was superb, definitely fine dining level as was the tableware and the glasses. Food presentation was outstanding leaving us finding it hard to belive the reasonable cost of all the dishes, especially as we were offered some free fizz on arrival, served a amuse-bouche and a complimentary digestivo! There were plenty of wines at 20 or under but plenty over 100 too. Were it not for the heat in the dining room at 2pm mid September I would genuinely find it hard to suggest anything that could be improved, however, it was too hot to 100% enjoy the spectacular experience - and we are a/c haters generally. Top tip: the chocolate soufflé with warm melting chocolate center covered in a thin chocolate dome over which is poured hot chocolate sauce until the dome falls apart - do I need to continue? You have to go there!

We are so happy to have found this gem!! This was the best meal we’ve had in Italy so far! Our servers, Marcella and Arturo, we’re knowledgeable and friendly. Marcella also had some good suggestions for things to do while in Cortona. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, it was presented beautifully as well!! I chose the Stuffed Guinea Fowl. Wow! Best thing I’ve ever eaten!! My husband chose Beetroot Ravioli stuffed with sea bass and asparagus… OUSTANDING! Little extras throughout the dining experience were thoughtfully provided, making this a memorable dinner! We topped off the evening with their Tiramisu with complementary Moscato! It was divine!!! Best restaurant in Cortona in our opinion. A level above the rest! Just off of Piazza della Repubblica on Via Guelfa.

Wow! A beautiful setting and delicious unique preparation of dishes. Complimentary Prosecco and piccolo zuppa and pane and digestivo. The tiramisu is a work of art. The pigeon stuffed with lumache is unusual and scrumptious. So is everything else. We had dinner here one night and immediately made a reservation for the following night. Everything we had was delightful.

Food was fantastic. Service might have been a bit slow because the restaurant was full up, but they kept on checking with us, continuously ensuring us that food would be ready very soon. Waiter was very friendly.

Fabulous meal. Superbe service. Attention to details, from the coutellerie to the plating and the food. Located close to local boutiques and to the Piazza Luca Signorelli for a nice walk before or after your meal. I highly recommand this place.

Great regional food. Reasonably priced courses and drinks; @ervice charge included a small glass of pink cava, amuse bouche, and digestif (limoncello or grappa).
