Castello Di Velona Resort, Thermal SPA & Winery - Montalcino - Tuscany

Everything about Castello di Velona was perfect. The service was one of the best we have experienced in our many years of traveling from the moment we entered the castle. The breakfasts were simply amazing. The pastry chef came out to greet us one morning when we were raving over the pastries. Our dinners were delicious with fantastic service. We ate pool side a few timed (before 6pm) with a limited menu for a more casual dinner experience. The views, the spa and thermal pools were fantastic. Our room was large with views of magnificent views of the Tuscany hills and landscape from our private patio of our junior suite. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Castello di Velona, and it was truly an enchanting experience. This castle is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Tuscany, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the historical charm and the breathtaking views of the rolling Tuscan hills.
The staff at the Castello di Velona are exceptional. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made my stay even more memorable. Whether it was dining at the castle's restaurant, taking a dip in the thermal pools, or exploring the surrounding vineyards, every moment was filled with joy and relaxation.
I cannot recommend the Castello di Velona enough. It's a place where history, luxury, and natural beauty converge to create an unforgettable Tuscan escape.

Our recent stay at Castello Di Verona was magical! It exceeded our expectations in every way! The manager, Gabriel and his staff (most especially Roxana who planned our itinerary and provided impeccable detailed service) were warm, friendly and beyond professional. The rooms, the setting, the spa, thermal pools, restaurants and incredible vistas were all amazing! We will be back!

We only had the pleasure of staying one night while road-tripping in Italy, but it was the perfect reset that we needed. The property itself is a gorgeous castle built in the 11th century. The views from the property overlooking the vineyards are incredible. The pool and spa area were spacious. Of course, their wine selection is incredible - after all you’re in Tuscany and they make the famous Brunello wine. Next time we are in Tuscany we will definitely stay longer!

Insane views of val d’Orcia. Big hotel but at times feels like you have the whole place to yourself. Wish they would enforce the dress code at their fine dining restaurant but other than that no complaints.

My friends and I went to a menu special tasting dinner on 10/27 and loved the service we had from Nicola and Giorgio (and the rest of the staff!) We especially loved “the Italiano” drink that was Nicola’s speciality ! Can’t wait to be back in May

How do I start with this amazing place. The views from our terrace is absolutely stunning! The soft golden tones you get during the sun rise and sunset are something I will never forget. You will get a never ending view of rolling hills, vineyards, and other wineries in the distance. The thermal pools will have your skin feeling brand new and softer than ever before, with exceptional service for both food and drinks to accompany your relaxing stay. The restraunts on site are on a level of its own as well, the deer trataré was phenomenal and the dry aged cuts of beef are some that I will never forget. Thank you for making this place so unforgettable, I can't wait to be back!

We had a truly special and amazing stay here! The hotel is full of ancient history perched on the top of a hill overlooking the stunning Val d'Orcia. Would highly recommend the old fort to stay in as you really feel like you are staying in a castle! The pools are completely natural with no added chlorine, the water is supplied from hot springs and UNESCO heritage site which makes for an incredibly special stay. The service at the hotel is very good and it really is a unique spot with breathtaking views. There is a great circular walk from the Abbey of Sant'Antimo which we loved doing the one day. My fiancé and I had an amazing time at CASTELLO di VELONA. The food was impeccable, and we fell in love with their sparkling Pinot noir - it was underrated but delicious. The Lobster Gnocchi pasta paired perfectly with the wine. My fiancé enjoyed a perfectly cooked medium serloin steak with various salts to choose from. The fresh homemade bread and olive oil were memorable. The dinner had some unique interactive touches that made the experience even better. The rooms had a romantic and unique castle essence, especially at night. The soft glow of lights and the gentle breeze, the evenings felt so dreamy and intimate. We'll 100% be back for more!!!

We have been here several times before and love it.

This is a unique hotel spa that is somewhat isolated and perched on top of a hill overlooking historic UNESCO views. Our UNESCO suite is large and private with a living area, king bed, double sink, shower and separate tub with spa water if selected and private patio overlooking gorgeous sunsets.

The restaurant and hotel service staff, concierge and manager make every effort to keep us happy.

The food at dinner is delicious, albeit a bit high priced, and breakfast includes a huge variety of everything you could imagine. The chef will even accommodate your requests as well at breakfast and dinner. The sommelier is passionate, friendly and approachable and always very helpful in offering suggestions.

The wine and olive oil made at Castello di Velona is also excellent.

Amazing experience. It is a magical place and landscape, outstanding staff service, going always beyond. We wish we stayed there for more than 2 nights. HIGHLY recommend.

What a fabulous place! All the staff made sure our stay was a happy and memorable one. The hotel position is extraordinary, views amazing. All our meals were delicious and beautifully presented and the tasting menu was such a treat. The wine tour was most interesting and the wine tasting very informative. We left feeling we had had an exceptional experience, and with their own wine and olive oil in the boot of the car to enjoy for the rest of our trip to Italy. Thank you to everyone who looked after us so well. We would love to come back.

The panorama approaching the resort is simply breathtaking. The rooms are quite and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and everybody shows a genuine effort to please you and satisfy your needs. The pools with warm thermal water, the saunas, the spa, contribute to relax all day round. The restaurants have a varied selection of typical local recipes and tasty wines, famous all over the world.
I dreamed a sightseeing by helicopter of the area and the astonishing countryside, and the reception was able to organise a flight, leaving and landing on the helipad of the hotel, the same day.
The experience in this hotel is simply unique. Nowhere else you can repeat it.

The best Spa I have been in my life

This has been the best spa trip I have every experienced in my life. They have 4 thermal baths, a salt water jacuzzi, super nice dining and great panoramic views on the Tuscan hills. Also they have their own thermal water tap in your bathroom so you can bathe in privacy alone or with your partner, l loved it.

Best time is the sunrise and sunset the views are just stunning and to die for.

They have their own wine which is also 10/10

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Absolutely breathtaking views from all around the castle. The thermal pool was warm and refreshing. There is an indoor pool connected to the outside through a unique and tunnel that you can swim through. The Water Paradise was very relaxing and contained a steam shower room, dry sauna, jacuzzi and emotional showers. Also, the service was impeccable. They treated us like royalty the whole way through. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a once in a life time experience.

Amazing place at the top of the hills great view incredible sunset and the pool with thermal water is the Best. Staff is friendly and the rooms are well decorated with the Tuscan vibe. Breakfast is a variated buffet with a lot of selection.

What a wonderful place! I fell in love with its peace and chill, the spa is so wonderful and full of good vibes! The staff is so kind, they offer the best service and if they can accommodate you, they will do their best. Magical place with mesmerizing view.

The thermals and the view make this place very special. The hotel service was spectacular. The room was gorgeous and very luxurious. We stayed in the newer wing with the thermal bath. I would recommend staying here and eating elsewhere. While the poolside menu was nice, the gourmet restaurant suffers by comparison with other similarly priced dining offerings. I do plan to return and would recommend it to friends.
