Hotel Villa Marie

Great hotel run by a family. I had to write this review because of the gesture done by the hotel owners, I am checking very early to catch a flight, so they literally prepared me breakfast to go since I am leaving before the breakfast buffet opens. Location is great and close to many restaurants, and surely the staff are wonderful.

A joyous honeymoon! Such a wonderful place!! Only a few minutes walk from Tremezzo port, through lovely gardens. We were treated like family, everyone was so welcoming. We had fantastic views from our room, with our own private balcony. Breakfast was beautiful with a great continental selection and freshly made barista coffee, which was enjoyed on the terrace with beautiful scenery. There are also several photo worthy places around the back of the hotel like the little grotto. Many fine places to sit back, enjoy the sun and read a book. Free parking. Reasonably priced mini bar. If you are ordering at the bar, the drinks are generous and served like you are a family member. If you are in the area try the wine, cheese and meat bar called Cantina Follie. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Como. Not in the busiest part like Bellagio, but close enough to travel and has enough charm, food and drink of its own to loved how we did.

My partner and I had a beautiful stay at Hotel Villa Marie. This is a family-run hotel where the staff knows your name and room off-hand throughout your stay. The staff was welcoming and very helpful in assisting you navigate the busses, ferries, taxis, etc. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and linen. We had the simplest room, which has everything you need including a safe for your valuables. Breakfast is served daily on the front terrace with a beautiful view of the lake. Stay here if you want to be in a more quiet area of Lake Como, with convenience to transit, and without sacrificing the view - would highly recommend and stay again!

We had a magnificent stay at Hotel Villa Marie. We felt really at home at the hotel, everybody was super kind and friendly and always had good recommendations. The pool was great but we enjoyed above all the many varied sitting areas, there was always a quiet spot to find in either the sun or the shade. Even though the hotel is along the main road along the lake, the windows are super well insulated so we had no noise. Beds were very comfortable and even the standard rooms were nice and spacious. One of our preferred hotel stays ever and we travel a lot.

I cannot put into words how incredible our stay at Hotel Villa Marie was, but I’ll attempt! My husband and I stayed here last month for our wedding along with our families. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The room we chose was the blue “junior suite lake view” room and pictures do not do it justice. It is SO beautiful. The view from the room is absolutely incredible. I was actually surprised at how much storage was available in the room as well. We had a ton of clothes (wedding dress & tux included) and everything fit perfectly into the wardrobe and drawers. The bathroom is also beautiful and I loved having the bathtub. The family that runs this hotel is SO lovely. They went above and beyond every single day to make sure we were taken care of. I’m not really a breakfast person, but I ate breakfast every morning because it was just too good to skip out on. They serve a different homemade cake every morning and that alone is enough to get me out of bed. 😂 As soon as you open the doors to leave your room in the morning you can smell the most amazing smells throughout the hallways coming from the kitchen. The location is also perfect! There are many delicious restaurants all within walking distance and the ferry stop is very close as well. We were all so sad to leave on our last day, but we will 100% be back!! ❤

Great experience, I would highly recommend this hotel. Situated in a perfectly convenient location with beautiful views, easy access to ferry that allows you to explore other towns around lake Como.
In the hotel itself is everything you need, to enjoy your holidays; swimming pool and terrace, bar and very lovely, warm-hearted staff that went above and beyond to accommodate our needs!
Cleanliness is 10/10, tasty food, very happy with our stay :)

This 3 star Hotel is more like a 4 star Hotel. Amazing service, rooms were spacious and so clean. I cannot fault this hotel it has great hospitality and fantastic views of the lake. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was well worth it. I would definitely come back and stay. Perfect location🙂

Incredible hotel to base out of and explore the beautiful Lake Como! Staff was so attentive and clearly cared deeply about each guest’s experience— I left something in my room and they were kind enough to mail it to my next destination. Breakfast and dinner were exactly what we needed and service was excellent. Already planning a trip to return to Lake Como and will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again!

The hotel has a very personal touch. The service desk lady was super helpful - showed us everything around the hotel - how to get to a boat around lake como,where to eat,what to see. She showed us everything in the room and the keys were pretty solid and heavy, very cute old style. The room was clean, there were toiletries, bide. We had a room with a view to the lake and the pool and in the second half of the day we were very glad we could sit down by the pool - read,chill and swim a bit. There's a restaurant right near the pool where you can order any drinks and enjoy them and you eat your breakfast with a splendid lake view. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and we highly recommend it!

Possibly one of the best boutique hotels we booked on our entire European honeymoon!

Hotel Villa Marie is located in Tremezzo and about a 10 minute walk from the port. When we arrived, we were greeted by such friendly staff & reception. You can tell they run this place which such love & care. The owner even gave us a glass of presence to wish us congratulations on our honeymoon :)

We had booked the deluxe room with lake view in mid September which was the perfect size! A gorgeous mini balcony to wake up to in the morning. Bedroom & bathroom were both spacious and we have copious amount of closet and drawer space. Despite it being a “older” hotel which we were a bit nervous about, the rooms are clean and very well maintained. They also provide guests with a room key with a unique key chain which is quite heavy so they encourage you to drop it off everytime you leave the hotel and pick it up at reception upon return. I personally love that special touch!

Each morning, we got to enjoy the continental breakfast downstairs in the terrace & breakfast room which had quite a bit of variety (croissants, yogurts, fruits, cured meats, scrambled eggs, toast, juice & coffee). The hotel has the most stunning front terrace & rooftop terrace for guests to enjoy. We unfortunately didn’t enjoy the pool since it was a bit cold or try the in house restaurant since we were always out & about Como but hopefully next time when we come back.

The wifi is a bit spotty at times which would be the only negative comment if we have to be picky. Overall, I’d say this is definitely the place to book if staying in Tremezzo. Not only will you be away from the hustle & bustle of tourists but you’ll be well taken care of at a fraction of the price compared to other 3/4 star hotels. Grazie!!! ❤

I recommend staying here instead of Bellagio, Menaggio or Como. It's a lot more relaxing and peaceful.

It's easy to get to various villas and museums to visit.

There's a wonderful nearby park where you can swim and take beautiful romantic photographs.

Highly recommended and we will be back again!

The hotel is excellent.
From check in to departure, all the hotel staff were extremely friendly.

The villa we stayed in with the family (with two small children) was great. Child safe and perfect for families. The pool could be secured with a protective fence, so that parents can also relax at the pool. The food was very good throughout.

We can only recommend the hotel for a vacation with family perfect.

This hotel has a very nice personal approach towards guests. Nice service, always happy to help. If you can't choose where to eat in the night, you can always stay and enjoy the view with a pasta. The rooms look very authentic and classy.

The location is very convenient. It is located in a calmer part of Lake Como, with connections to the ferry towards the busier Bellagio/Varenna/Menaggio.

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location! It was quiet at night even in the high season. There is a small free parking garage but luckily there were enough parking spots for all of the guests. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so we walked to dinner each night, and the pool gives you a wonderful view of the lake. The breakfast was delicious and we had the option to sit inside or outside. Highly recommend!

The nicest little hotel you can ever imagine! Perfect lake view. The hotel was charming and spot less. The staff and owners very attentive, helpful and friendly. The location is perfect to explore lake Como. Tremezzo is nice and peaceful. From here it is very easy to hop on the small ferries to Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio. Good possibilities for walks and hikes. Try the Greenway hike one day and walk uphill to the San Martino church another day. We spent one day sailing to and exploring Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio. Absolutely great.

The hosta are very king and caring. The have great serves and good breakfast. The room was clean and orginized.The place is in a great location ( close to the fairy bus) and there are good restaurant in a few minutes by walking. There is parking.

I very seldom write a review, but Elsabetta and her team are thoroughly deserving of one. This hotel really stands out for the care and kindness of the staff. Easy smiles and warmth permeates the building. Should we ever return we would stay here without a doubt.

We booked this small family owned hotel to stay in for our wedding on the lake and it was the absolute best experience. The view is unbeatable, the rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful. I can’t thank the lovely women enough who run this Villa for the kindness they showed us, they felt like family! Best hotel in in Tremezzo ❤
