il Bosco delle Galline Volanti

This was our first Italian wine tasting experience and it was very thorough and informative. We began at the family vineyard in La Morra where the landscape, soils, and cultivation of the vines was explained, before a tour of the production facility inside the old barns and farm buildings.

As we don't speak Italian, we had to download English translations which were split into multiple chapters each a few minutes long. These were very informative and did not leave out any details, and meant that the language barrier was not a disadvantage - however be sure to download these in advance as internet signal isn't great in the cellars.

Next we travelled to the centre of Barolo for the wine tasting and lunch, which was extremely well thought-through. We had dishes which we'd never experienced before which were produced from ingredients grown in their own garden and from local farms.

The wine tasting and lunch were presented both in Italian and English so everybody could understand, and there were opportunities to ask questions. The descriptions of flavour profiles and pairings was very detailed but the concepts were easy to understand - great for both experienced and first-time wine tasters.

There was a constant emphasis on sustainability, locality and culture throughout the whole day, and it's clear that the Germano Angelo winery care deeply about the environment and minimising their impact on it. This is compounded by information boards around their Barolo shop which explain in detail all the different aspects of their farm and winery business from an ecological perspective.

Best restaurant experience in a very long time.

We randomly popped in while walking around Barolo. We were greeted with friendly smiles! The wine was fantastic (I highly recommend the Brut di Nebbiolo for fun) and the salumi/cheese board was amazing!! Definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful place to eat and drink. We stopped by for some wine and snacks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The wine was perfect and not expensive. Highly recommend!

Wonderful tasting experience with Viviana especially if you want to taste and learn about the local wines and also try local foods paired with them. You learn about the different flavor profiles each wine and food have. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with the visit to the winery and the explanations of Viviana Germano who made us know the world of Barolo and synergistic agriculture.We continued with the tasting of 4 wines accompanied by typical local food in the farmhouse "il bosco delle galline volanti" and after we bought 6 wines (Barolo,Barbera and Chardonnay).Behind all of this there is a lot work, competence, patience and passion. Thanks for everything.Highly recommended experience and prices more than honest, excellent quality.

Very nice experience! Enthousiastic host which knows a lot more than only wine. She has experience in combining food with wine which is an experience on itself.

Thank you Ms.Viviana Germano for a most wonderful experience which began with a visit to the Germano Angelo winery in Anunzziata village. then followed by a food & wine pairing lunch at ‘il Bosco delle Galline Volanti’ farmhouse in Barolo. Your gracious hospitality & knowledge of wine making is for the books.

You HAVE TO eat here. All veggies are from their own garden, and you have also vegan options (hard to find in Langhe). Viviana and Dafne are one of the best people we met around there, always welcoming and willing to share their knowledge about organic food.

We tried the winetasting and it was such a nice experience. As a first time it was very insightful, moreover very tasty! Lovely host :)
