The restorant is located in the heart of a very small town. It’s atmosphere is cozy and romantic. The staff is welcoming and very professional. With a wide range of local wines to offer. Sommeliers will recommend you the perfect one to combine with the food you will choose from the typical toscan menu. I recommend pici cacio e pepe served with a modern touch by the chef.
I recommend going in the evening with friends or family, it is perfect even for a romantic date.

We had our wedding at Bengodi in June, and it was simply incredible. The food, wine selection, and ambiance were amazing. Red and his team made the night unforgettable with their outstanding service. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! We cannot wait to return. Highly recommended!

Super restaurent, owner is very helpful and very knowledeable. Met him and family when dining at another restaurent.
Food is excellent, don't usually order duck, recommended by waitress, great as was the the tongue for the starter. Equally good was the risotto and cheese plate.In my book, prices are reasonable, three course meal for two with wine for well under hundred bucks is super value.
It was a twenty minute plus drive to get to the restaurent and we'll worth it. Highly recommended.
I think they offer some 500 wines.

I have been dining here over the years. What a pleasure to be back after 2020 and enjoy a meal. I brought my family this time. The Risotto in the Pecorino cheese wheel is a crowd pleaser for sure and wonderfully delicious. Tonight we also tried the Charcoal Ravioli. Complimenti Sara e Red.

Wow. Lunch here was by far the best meal of our week in Italy. The entire experience was top notch, and truly at a Michelin level. The food was to die for, and the service was superb. The risotto served from a Parmigiano Reggiano wheel was unbelievable and a very pleasant surprise. The waiter had so much passion when explaining the dish, so I just had to order it. My wife is a truffle fan and thoroughly enjoyed the amount of fresh truffle shaved on to her pasta. All this excellent food and wine for a very reasonable price. So happy we were recommended this restaurant. Would love to return some day.

Top notch experience at Bengodi! I was overwhelmed with the Risotto alla Bengodi served inside a pecorino cheese wheel, where the chef did his final prep at the table! Real amazing experience and an explosion of combination of flavors, it's superb! I also ordered the Dolci del giorno fatti in casa (Tiramisu), and it was outstanding, best one I ever had, creamy, tasteful and beautifully decorated. The wine served was "Terzo Movimento Chianti Classico Riserva" which I also recommend. Overall, the whole dining experience was amazing. You got to visit this Ristorante in Castelnuovo Berardegna, no regrets!!!

Such a gem!!! So so good and surprising affordable!!!! Will def comes back if we ever have an opportunity to visit the region again.

Enoteca Bengodi was our favorite dinner in Tuscany! We shared the tagolini pasta with a creamy butter truffle sauce to start. Then for dinner we split veal Verde pepe and the pork dish. Both entrees had amazing flavor!! It was hard to share! We did not want the meal to end! Truffle was on our bucket list so we had to order it. Otherwise we would have ordered the risotto as well! But we were so full! Amazing food. Amazing owner with incredible hospitality! A definite visit in Tuscany ❤🇮🇹

This was our favorite dinner spot on our recent 10-day Italy trip. Red, the owner, creates an amazing atmosphere and the chef at the restaurant provides equally great food. Top class service, delectable food and a very vibe coupled with great wine.

Absolutely loved this spot. We stayed in a Villa near by for a few weeks and frequented here often. The owners & staff are so welcoming. They offered to take requests for music for us to hear while dining in. The wine options are fabulous and the food is delicious. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes.

I came here for the wine and was not disappointed. Red introduced me to wines I would not otherwise have found, spending the time on 2 occasions in one week to explore my palette, while feeding me at the same time. He is set up to ship around the world so is a great contact for anyone who wants access to the known wines of Italy (and France) but appreciates small producers flying under the radar. Red and Sara have a good set-up in a non-touristy but welcoming village. Highly recommended

My wife and I have never been treated so well by any restaurant! While vacationing in the area, we decided to stop in Castlenuovo for dinner and found Bengodi. It was early, before it opened, but Reg, the owner, welcomed us to sit at his outdoor area, brought us a complimentary glass of wine while we waited, and invited us inside before it opened. Inside the menu was unique (items we never heard of before). Reg continued to give us warm welcome, helping us understand the menu and recommending wines that were both excellent and reasonably priced. We loved the food and Reg's hospitality so much we came back the next evening, and if we stayed in the area any longer, we would come back a third time! On our second meal, it seemed like Reg became our friend, taking selfies with each other and hearing about his family. We highly recommend Bengodi for its food and wine and for Reg, a unique person who treated us like we've never been treated before in our 60+ years.

The food is excellent. The wine list is extensive and fantastic. The service could not be better. They even recommended wineries for us to visit during our stay.

There are several very good restaurants in Castelnuovo Berardenga, but this was the best one. My family and I stayed in a villa near here July 9-30, 2022, and ending up eating here at least 5 times. The food is that good! Red, the owner, read the whole menu and described each item. They had an incredible Risotto that was finished in a wheel of pecorina cheese, the local pici pasta with various sauces, grilled steak, tagliatelle with local boar ragu, and many more fantastic items.

I can't rate this place highly enough! We went 4 times during our stay in Tuscany because we loved it so much. The t-bone is excellent and the garlic pasta is a must if you aren't afraid to "feel the garlic!" The servers were wonderful and made excellent wine recommendations. Red went above and beyond to help us set up wine tastings at some of his favorite local wineries. I hope to return here on my next trip to Tuscany!

Wonderful place. Small, intimate, great feel and fabulous food. We ended up eating three meals there during our one week in the area. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. After finding out my daughter had Celiac's they made sure they had gluten free bread for her. Recommend it most highly.

Red is an exceptional friendly host. We had dinner here 3 times during our stay in Tuscany. We tasted almost all the dishes from the menu and they were really good. Great wine list, and the terrace next to the trees is very cosy on the romantic piazza. Make sure to ware long trousers because of the mosquitos (this last tip goes for the whole of tuscany).
