Read tons of reviews and was a little concerned. No worries the food is great! We travel a ton and had no problems. Entertainment was good. Tons of pools and chairs. Room was good size. Hot water was hit or miss. Loved it and will be looking to bring our family back.

Loved our stay at Secrets Aura Cozumel for our 40th anniversary. The staff was fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay special. On the evening of our anniversary, they surprised us with dinner on the beach, and we came back to our room with roses on the floor, stating I ❤ U. Was amazing. I wish I could have taken credit for that one, lol.
The sunsets were amazing. The food and drink were to be honest was just above average and a little bland at times but with the mix of people they serve we understood. I would highly recommend this place for an amazing experience.

Not the biggest resort we have been to but our room 4215 and service was great. Snorkeling right off beach was great. The pool atmosphere was very nice. Staff always very helpful.

This is an amazing resort. The people are extremely friendly. The beach and pools are beautiful. The hotel rooms could use some updates.

Beautiful location, and amazing staff, especially from the restaurant Oceana!

We booked a Preferred Jr suite room in the Preferred section from Air Canada Vacations, and we're glad we did it, because their non-preferred looked really outdated.

Air conditioning worked well, shower had good pressure and hot water. The mattress could be better, but overall, we really enjoyed our week.

The water is turquoise, clear, and we can see many fishes just walking on the beach, or snorkeling for a better experience. It's fun to sometimes see iguanas and other reptiles around the resort.

Highly recommend to book Preferred.

My trip started off not right. My room had a leak coming through the ceiling. They moved me in the middle of the night. I was moved to a lesser room than I paid for. I expressed my concerns and Raphael and his boss Hamlet listened to my concerns. They then put me into a really nice suite on the 4th floor. They went above and beyond to make me happy.

I’m seriously shocked with all the bad reviews this place has. This has been the best vacation ever, the resort is beautiful, the food is great, everyone is sooo nice. We never had a problem with anything here. We had the swim up room to the pool and it was lovely. They treat you great here, anything you want they will get for you. Everything was clean and neat.

Our stay is from 2/28/24 to 3/4/24. I read all the reviews and was honestly a little nervous to book, but TBH this was an amazing choice for our first all inclusive!
The food is amazing (portions are really good in my opinion, may be a lil small for some people's liking), but you can order as much as you like so it doesn't really matter. An abundance of alcohol and whatever drink you can imagine. The bartenders, staff, room service, literally everyone we have met have been so welcoming and nice. No issues with our room at all. It's super clean, a/c works perfectly, amenities are superb 👌 (we did preferred and I would highly recommend as it does come with some additional perks). We got tons of freebies/special stuff cause we listened to a presentation they had about their resort (no obligation to purchase, just takes a bit of your time and then you get free stuff so that's nice 😊 ). The location was great - they have ways for you to rent a motor scooter or car for a day for pretty affordable so you can just go have a day/afternoon in "el centro" aka downtown or exploring around cozumel. Literally everyone speaks English cause it's so tourist-y here so there's no issues with communication. We're still here so I'll try to update after we check out to see if that changes anything, but tbh I'm super impressed (and also not super picky so maybe that has an effect on my opinion, idk.. but then again even if I was picky I'd still be impressed!). Anyway, if you're thinking about booking and having doubts cause of some of the nit-picky reviews you read, just go for it! I promise you won't regret it!

I'm shocked by all the bad reviews here. We've traveled to Mexico 15+times. This was our 2nd time here and the only resort we've ever returned to. Room was great. Bed was comfortable. AC worked great. Water in the shower could be hotter, but not a big deal. Resort is small enough not to be busy, but big enough to have space. Beach is great. Decent snorkling right on the beach. Bar service on the beach was outstanding. Staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. I give the staff at A+! Food was good to great. Buffet food is what it is, but there were always 4-5 things that were really good. Gohan Sushi was a favorite.
Only slight complaint is access into the Ocean is rocky. And that's nothing the resort controls. Bring water shoes!

The grounds keepers are definitely doing a great job. This is more of a relaxed resort and has some of the most beautiful views of the sea. With swim shoes you're able to swim right off beach area. The staff is wonderful. Only complaint I truly have is there's no difference for anyone VIP and regular rooms. There's a designated area but you cannot tell that it is designated. The beach is open to everyone from all the resorts. And if you are UVC no benefits. Not even a late checkout when your flight is at 5:00 p.m. So you get to be uncomfortable for your flight home. There are three resorts here secrets, sunscape, dreams. Dreams is completely preferred hotel. Meaning, they come to secrets to use the small pool that is for preferred members. As is the beach. Very few chairs anywhere. If you want a chair you need to get up at 5:00 a.m. and get one or you will not have one on the beach nor will you have one on the preferred pool area. We have been here 6 days now and on a warm days without wind there are absolutely no chairs available. Most of the chairs set empty all day with other people's things on it while they go use the rest of the resort. it's too bad people can't be considerate of the fact that everyone pays to be at these resorts. This is more of a reflection on the people that come to the resorts than it is the resort itself. Maybe on the beach they could put a bunch more chairs being their selling the front view of secrets to the other two resorts. But there is no way of telling who is preferred and who is not I believe it is open to all. The many other secrets we have been to had a designated area that was marked preferred. There is nothing here that lets you know so people come from all the resorts to here. Only when you go to eat in the preferred restaurants is there a difference because they ask your room number. My suggestion to the manager would be to mark the beach area as they do it the other secrets that weeds preferred beach area. I'm just saying if people are paying more money it could be disappointing and change the numbers on these reviews. This is an older resort but they are trying to keep it maintained. I am definitely not disappointed with the resort itself. So don't listen to the other reviews. The musty smell is just that of the dampness of the ocean. Turn on the AC for a moment and it goes away. One should count their blessings to be able to take such a trip. Oh and last night We were blessed to have a dinner around this pool by the preferred club it was a Mayan dance dinner. The food was spectacular! The chef came to each of the tables and let us know what we were eating step by step through the dinner. Absolutely fabulous and we travel to a few different places and this was by far the best food. Thank you

Had a fabulous massage at the spa. Joy was superb ❣ I highly recommend him and this spa

Great adults only vacation. We had heard that this is on the lower tier of Secrets resorts. However our experience was great! We were upgraded to a walkout beachfront room and were very pleased. We could tell that the hotel was going through some updates and repairs (main pool was shut down and the rooms had some minor leaks). The staff and service was absolutely phenomenal, Alfredo the bartender and Isreal the pool waitress were great! Hands down the best bartender in Mexico. Great attitudes and they helped keep a great environment for all the guests. Thanks for the experience!

We are staying here and maybe the three gentleman, Diego, Eldardo and I'm not sure at the swim up/pool level bar who serve drinks need to take care of the guest. They just sit, visit and eat with each other on the upper deck. I have no problem walking or wading for a drink. You have to call them to get a drink at the swim up bar and no one will serve you in your lounger, in the pool and/or bring empties to the bar to get a drink, never have they cleared old drinks or offered you a drink at your location. Shocked and sad, definitely not Secrets quality that we have experienced!! We tip generously and that didn't change our experience! Management needs to watch and see, there is staff here maybe not motivated.

We had a room in the "preferred section" it was a very nice BIG room on second floor with a private balcony. It came with minor defect though, but it didn't affect our stay.

Minor defects were:
- ac was leaking, but we just put towel under it as it didnt bother us
- bathtub was leaking, but we decided to use only the separated shower
- 1 lamp was not working, but we didnt care

Being preferred gave us access to other sister resorts which was nice.

Our room was cleaned everyday.

The service was good everywhere.

Food was average in most restaurants, but it was especially good in Oceana restaurant.

The beach was beautiful, quiet and water was crystal clear with different kind of fishes that we could see just by walking in the water. Even better if you do snorkeling.

Watershoes are a must!! The beach in the water is rocky and uneven, so watershoes were really important for optimal enjoyment

Kayak and paddleboard rental was free for 30 minutes per day which is pretty nice.

I also enjoyed seeing iguana and different little lizard.

And free Internet in the whole resort was highly appreciated 👍

Had a water view room right on the beach. It's an older resort and showed signs of them upgrading. At night, it's very well lite up and makes it easy to walk around. I'm already planning another trip to go back.

My husband and I stayed 7 nights in July 2023. We had an amazing vacation and enjoyed every minute . We had a suite on the beach with a wonderful view. All food at resort was very good and the staff very attentive. This is Mexico and don’t expect 4 stars as in America folks , yes resort could use a facelift but instead go enjoy yourselves, it’s a beautiful island !

Review. We are just finishing 6 nights and it has been amazing. Yes, there are details that need to be fixed, but we have thoroughly loved our time in the beautiful place. The staff was amazing, working so hard to keep everyone happy. We enjoyed the entertainment across the three resorts. We loved each one of our dinners, especially trying the places at Dreams. We rested, we enjoyed our time together, we sat and watched amazing sunsets and incredible beach views.

Our only small complaint was with other guests who are so demanding and impatient towards the staff that they make themselves miserable and bother those around them trying to enjoy this relaxing place.

Overall, we loved our time and are truly thankful to the staff of Secrets Aura for their care.

We read all the negative reviews on here.. we were Almost scared of what our adventure would entail. We’ve been here 2 days. The staff are amazing and accommodating. Everyone is so friendly. Our room was pristine. They’ve taken care of all the issues that seem to be voiced on Google. They even have a hawk that they bring at breakfast to keep pest control at bay, ie: other birds. I use Google as a general review for an establishment before I travel. Not a platform to complain. Seems if you want the truth, it might be more beneficial to check out facebook
