Occidental Cozumel - All Inclusive

We stayed at the Occidental in February 2024, the property is amazing. It feels as if you are immersed in the jungle with all of the amazing landscaping and foliage. The crews were absolutely amazing. Cristina Cruz, Norma Vcan, and Rosario Mex paid extra special attention to my friend who got too much sun during the day. She didn’t feel well and they took extra special care to prepare her a different meal and made sure she had chamomile tea, which really helped. Above and beyond for service, we were so impressed.

The La Coral beach resort restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food was fresh and phenomenal tasting. The manager, waitstaff, and everyone that we encountered was very pleasant and helpful, especially when suggesting food selections. They checked on us constantly, cleared plates for next course efficiently and quickly, and food was very well prepared and hot when arriving at our table. Amazing view of the ocean and the brilliant sunset while we were dining. We will definitely eat there again during this stay.

The dining staff service in the main dining room was excellent. Ana Gil was so friendly and helpful and went out of her way to answer our questions, get us anything we needed, and made us feel welcome. Thank you also to Lucio and Marco on staff that evening!

Everything about this place was amazing! The food was your typical all inclusive buffets, but, when you get into the specific restaurants, the food is amazing. The drinks and the service were off the charts! I’ve been coming to Cozumel for three years, and I think we finally found a peaceful place when we want to do nothing but relax and be pampered, this is our place of paradise! Marisol was phenomenal our entire stay!!! She is such an amazing person and was always willing to help us in any way!! 5-stars all the way!!

We have a number of dietary restrictions and the restaurant staff helped us enjoy our meals.

Big shout out to Lucio who was always a smiling face that helped guide us through what we could eat at the buffet each day - he made us feel so special and comfortable every day!

Sergio also went above and beyond at meal times to help us find the right food options for us, including having the chef make a fresh ceviche for my husband who is allergic to shellfish.

Carlos was a wonderful bartender in the main bar and made amazing cocktails. We loved stopping in for a drink and chat.

Alfredo fished my sunglasses out of the mangrove jungle when I dropped them hours before leaving on our last day - thank you Alfredo!

Roger was a lot of fun around the pool with the aerobics classes and volleyball and also a very friendly and funny guy.

Walter was always very attentive at the front desk and helped my husband get bandages and antiseptic for a small wound.

We also really appreciated the service from Brenda, Norma, Jorge and Pablo as well as the other staff at the front desks and the cleaning staff who helped keep our room beautiful!

The resort was top notch and super clean! Location was great. The staff were amazing, they all took such good care of us! We stayed on the Royal level and everyone at the La Carreta restaurant treated us like we were the only guests on the resort and the food was amazing!! Thank you to Rogelio, Yasmin and their staff!! We look forward to coming back next year!

Very nice and cozy hotel, beautiful beach, beautiful hotel grounds, lots of vegetation, cute coatis. After vacationing in bigger brand resorts I was looking for something smaller and I am very happy with Occidental. The pool is right next to the beach, my kids like spending time in pool and my husband and I love beach and sand, finally everyone was happy and I didn't have to spend all days in some sort of water park on the opposite side of the resort. One of the restaurants is right next to the beach as well, this was very convenient. The food was good, there was always nice variety for me. I loved the entertainment, live music and dance performances. The rooms are ok, air conditioner was a bit loud and there is high humidity but this is understandable in such climate. We were able to try all specialty restaurants, one of the receptionists helped with reservations and we had no problem getting in. Overall, friendly staff, nice people and service, it was great.

Our experience here was awesome. Jesus and Eduardo were awesome. The night bar manager is the best we’ve ever seen in any of the resorts we’ve been to.. Also, our waitress Emily that did the dinner for 22 people absolutely outstanding thank you for a great experience

Very nice. Man named Jesus helped a lot and was friendly. Had a lot of fun and I recommend to everyone. Room is very clean and tidy. Also spacious. We went diving and it had a lot of different animals and coral. The food buffet is also very yummy.

Marisol was our server on the beach today. She is very attentive and made sure we always had something to drink. I cannot say enough about all of the staff. Excellent customer service. This is our 5th time here. Unfortunately, with the last hurricane they lost so much of their beach, but the water at this location is the best. Not Rocky at all. All the staff that has been here over the years that we have been coming remember us as soon as we get here, which is such a delight.

Amazing resort, small but very relaxing. Food is great! Service impeccable as well. Rooms very clean. Only thing is the beach has been washed off a few months ago, it is not crystal clear like the pictures you see on their website...

People and workers were very friendly and happy. Lovely time spent here, beautiful weather and rooms. Gym access and spa. Great food all day long. Roger and Nallely were very friendly and nice to me and other members. Made the day better at the beach.

Our good experience started with Hector at the front desk. He was super friendly and flexible to our needs. Next we met the great lobby bartender named Antonio with the two kindest ladies Laura and Zuleima that helped to serve and take drink orders. They always had a smile and would stop to listen and take an interest in us as we learned and practiced our Spanish. At the pool we were greeted with a smile from the towel boy Danny every morning!
Another highlight was Freddy Kantun the head waiter or manager of the Beach restaurant Corales. He lead the staff in a friendly professional manner and made our seafood experience extremely memorable! He even invited us back the next evening to experience Mexican coffee, which comes with a show. Delightful!!!
The Beach barkeep staff is amazing, so friendly and hardworking for all of us who prefer to stay in our chair and order drinks! Big thank you to Marisol🌴 Victor 😎 and Karla🌺 Thank you so much for a lovely stay! Normally we stay at Barcelo Rivera Maya, but after these two weeks here, this is our new favorite place! We will be back💕🥰 love it!!!

We love this place, the only hotel we keep coming back to. Staff, food, location, diving, grounds…everything is amazing. Before dinner we always stop by the bar - Santos makes the best drinks!

Rooms are pretty standard, 2 FS beds, huge bathroom(shower and tub), all the things on their website, sm patio. I preferr this to the 'fancier' places. It is cute. Not cluttered. General space is clean, lush with plants and trees. Have activities scheduled for kids and adults. Very friendly and obliging staff. This is my vibe. Good accomodations, no carpet (a good thing), got everything I need for a relaxing, carefree diving holiday. Note; buy activity package when you get to the resort. You get a better feel of what is available once you are onsite. Do bring your reef safe sunblock at home. No joke when other say it is expensive. The dive shop was great at booking additional dives. Different location at each outing.

The Mexican restaurant! Oh my god. The food. The service provided by Noemi Julio Luis and Alissa was outstanding. The Lima soup was so delicious I asked for it as a dessert again. Fantastic meal wonderful services we loved it! Bravo! We felt like family it was simply wonderful!

Excellent service! Loved the restaurants, especially the Mexican and Italian restaurants. Make sure you book a reservation for the nights you want to eat at as soon as you arrive because the spots fill quickly! One of our diving days were canceled because of the weather but they allowed us to reschedule for another day. Refunds aren’t allowed for diving excursions, only reschedules or vouchers that last 3 years.

Staff in the buffet area was amazing. Olga and Suemy were Very helpful and attentive. The pool people were very entertaining and amazing with the kids specially Nallely and Jesus. And the all bar staff amazing as well.

After two weeks of excellent service, great food and fabulous ambiance it’s easy to give a raving review about La Carreta and the team there. I don’t think you’ll come across a single employee who doesn’t take care of you. Every team member takes her job seriously and wants you to have a great experience. Special shout out to Carlos Rogelio Guadalupe, Claudia Armando Yazmine and the chefs!

We’ve had a similar fantastic service at all the other restaurants at the Resort and so many other fantastic staff like Anna, Alejandro Jorge and everyone on the team at the Occidental.
