Two friends, my wife and I all love craft beer, so we made a beer tour of Cozumel during a cruise stop. I had really low expectations, but that was based on my previous trips to Cozumel in the 80s and 90s. Things have changed considerably! The highlight of this particular visit was La Internacional Cervecería. Four of us spent a couple of very enjoyable hours sampling their impressively wide selection of top quality beers. We had previously stopped at a local brewery where the beer was only mediocre. There were Belgian, German, American, Mexican and just all kinds of beers.

The first highlight was Juan, the bartender. I’m not sure if he is the owner or manager. But he knows his beer and was a genuine pleasure to get to know. We shared a couple of tequila shots along the way. Great guy! The other highlight was a first-of-a-kind beer I had never heard of before. Juan took several bottles out of his cooler so we could examine the labels and make our selections. The one that blew us all away was a ITA. No, not an IPA. It was an Imperial Tequila Ale, aged in tequila barrels and crafted by Cerveza Minerva (Linea Maestra) in Jalisco, the heart of tequila country.

When you visit Cozumel, get off of that cruise ship, head to Juan’s place and have an amazing ITA and a shot of tequila!

Stopped here for a quick beer. Great beer bar, surprisingly a lot of different and foreign beers. We had a good talk with the owner.

For craft beer lovers in need of a fix, look no further. So many beer offerings, whatever your preference is you'll find it here. We didn't have any food, but they did have a Phillipino buffet set up. Waitstaff were knowledgeable and pleasant. Will be coming back during our stay at Cozumel.

Such a large selection of beers and a really cool space. The bar itself is a rooftop-ish space with indoor and outdoor seating. It’s very open and gets a nice breeze. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about beer. Him and his wife are the nicest people I’ve ever met. Always stop by for a beer when I’m on the island. Definitely check it out if you enjoy cool bars or craft beer!

La International is upstairs (stairs are located in the middle of the plaza) and sports several taps and two large coolers full of craft beer. plenty of tables and chairs inside and out on the patio. I love beer variety and La International had everything from Imperial Stouts to Double IPAs. Juan was very knowledgeable about his products and made excellent recommendations. We came early in the day so no food was available but I've seen the other postings and it looks great. Highly recommend La International to any beer geeks in town.

A very nice spot to chill out and grab a beer in the evening. Has a terrace that overlooks the streets and is super chill. Sometimes they have live music and the general atmosphere on weekdays is nights are good. The selection of beers on tap and the bottle options are plenty.

Great selection of international beer along with a great Mexican beer selection. I was pleasantly surprised to see several Mexican stouts in their case, including some from Playa del Carmen. The owner and his staff are warm and welcoming. I highly recommend anyone who likes a drink to stop by this second floor open-air bar!

Chill open air craft beer bar. Great craft beer selection. They have draught and bottles available. The staff is awesome. It's located on the second floor in a building close to Punta Lagosta port, a few minutes walk.

Great place to grab a Mexican brewed beer! This is one of the only places in town where you can find a Mexican beer that is not your typical Dos Equis or Corona. Juan will introduce you to Browns, Ambers, Lagers, Reds, IPAs and more that he imports from all over Mexico.

The food comes from a restaurant downstairs, but was still excellent. I'd recommend the mole chicken enchiladas.

Atmostphere was nice, and Juan was very friendly, but there's not much of a view. You can see the street on one side and there's one small window behind the bar that looks out on the ocean.

A little difficult to find, it is located on the second floor, so you have to walk north past the sign on the street to go up the staircase.

Great selection of true Mexican craft beer. Was presented with about half a dozen choices of Mexican IPAs alone. Chose two. Nothing earth-shattering, but so glad to find craft where only macro-lagers seem to exist. A must-visit for craft beer fans while in Cozumel.

Had to make a quick stop here on our way back to the cruise ship. It was busy but the bartender instantly spotting the brewery shirt I was wearing and flagged me over. he suggested an excellent double IPA. Which I could have spent hours there!!

Great glimpse of the sunset if you must have a microbrew at that time. Fun bartenders who are happy to help you with Spanish if learning. A social mix of people who were in Cozumel to dive were imbibing when I was. Classic rock for music and not too loud. Very positive experience. And they will have on or will play the important games that you want.
