Dan makes you feel like family. If you want a well priced, convenient location, useful amenities, then this is the place for you. When I travel to the island, I just need the basics. There is nothing worse than spending $300 plus a night when you're gone all day and then for resorts to try to nickel and dime you for everything, including late check out or early checkin. I came here 7 years ago and have been back over 15 times. Give this place a try, and you won't regret it.

It's right across from the airport but not in the flight path. Great value for your dollar. Clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff and owner. I will definitely be back.

We stayed here for a few days over my Christmas break. The owner Dan was absolutely incredible and extremely friendly. His staff Daniel and Eduardo were very accommodating and attentive. Super comfortable and enjoyable environment. Highly recommend to anyone booking a stay in Cozumel.

Ideal Cozumel getaway: fly in, walk across the street to casita de maya, hang with Dan and the crew, walk the ~30 minutes to the square to get the local experience, rent a jeep to hit the faraway beaches. No need for resorts!

What a wonderful stay at Casita de Maya. I am so saddened to leave.
The entire staff is incredible. From Dan, the owner who lives on premises, to the warmth of Chef Daniel and Eduardo, I could not imagine a better home away from home. Thank you for making us feel like we are family, for the short stay we were there. We appreciate all the kindness and excellent hospitality. The great recommendations and wonderful conversations shared. I could not imagine coming back to Cozumel
without making a stop here first. Thank you for an amazing experience. I will always look back fondly on this trip and I always be thinking of our time at Casita de Maya with Dan, Chef Daniel, Eduardo, Freddie, Bigotes, and Choc. Love you guys!!! <3

It is close to the airport, you can walk to your accommodations. Do not let this deter you from booking. You will not be disturbed by the airport. Additionally, you are a 20-25 minute walk from downtown but the walk is a safe, easy walk. If you need a cab, just go towards the airport. It is so easy to grab a cab as they drop off the airport passengers.

Amazing hotel. The location is perfect, it’s walking distance from the airport and only a few blocks from the “tourist” part of Cozumel. The owner Dan is a very friendly easy to like person. He genuinely cares about guest experiences and is nothing but helpful to meet any requests from scooter rental to suggestions for entertainment. All interactions we had with the staff were positive and enjoyable. The hands down star of our short stay was the in house cook / bartender Daniel (he’s not the owner, same name). He was always nearby with offerings of food or drinks or just fun conversation. He is an excellent chef and definitely makes THE BEST MARGARITA I have ever had.
Even though it’s close to everything, the hotel is very quiet and has a secluded/ private vibe that higher end resorts strive to achieve. I am happy to have stumbled upon Casita de Maya. We will be back.

Come to Cozumel for diving with my local dive shop in Virginia. My husband and I wanted to come down a few day early to relax. Searched and found this hotel. After reading the reviews,, we booked for 2 nights. Very close to the airport with a easy 5 minute walk. Do not let the closeness to the airport deter you. Very quiet and relaxing!! From the minute we arrived we were treated like family. Very quaint and clean establishment. Dan is extremely friendly and knowledgeable with anything on the island. The food and drinks are delicious. Two days is not enough. We will definitely be back and stay longer next year.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at La Casita De Maya! The place is so cute, clean and peaceful. The entire staff was so kind, helpful and friendly. They gave us lots of tips on where to go. The cook Daniel was absolutely wonderful. He made us delicious food and margaritas, and was a joy to be around. He was truly a highlight of our trip. We would love to stay at La Casita De Maya again!

It's like a home away from home. Everyone welcomed us with open arms. We were there 4 years ago. My Mom had passed away in the states while we were on vacation in Cozumel. On my way to the ferry I slipped and fell on the ramp to the ferry and broke my leg in 2 places. After surgery and 4 days in the hospital, our travel insurance got us a room here. Dan greeted us at the door and he and his staff were so attentive to all my needs even helping me understand the paperwork the government wanted me to sign. The food was delicious and the room was cozy and very clean. Dan even went so far as going to the airport with us and getting me a wheelchair. If we ever get back to Cozumel, We would definitely stay there again for more than one day and one night. I know this is late in coming but a big THANK YOU to Dan and his wonderful staff and friends who helped to make a very difficult time so pleasant!!

What can I say about this place? 1st I can say that I could not pass up staying here after reading the reviews, once our flight changed dates. 2nd I can say I AM SO GLAD WE DID! My husband and I absolutely loved staying here, so much so that my husband and I came back 2 other times during our trip to just eat, have a drink or hang out with everyone after we checked into our new hotel. Yes, we loved it and the staff that much! Dan took amazing care of us, answered every question and knows so much about the area and is willing to point you toward anything you want to do. The location is safe, we felt fine walking around and venturing out on our own. Daniel went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, well fed and had whatever we wanted to drink or eat, even when we were not staying there but came back. We even ended up heading into town to watch football and sharing a cab with Dans long time friend Gary, who is also a fixture at the Hotel. Not to mention the dogs that Dan and his staff lovingly care for who have made it their safe haven as well. We almost ended up bringing one home (but that is another story). All of this just shows what amazing people they all are. This place makes you feel like family, welcomed and cherished from the moment you walk through the door. I will go back and will tell everyone else to go there as well!

everything about this place was amazing. Dan, the owner, is down to earth, helpful, and a great host. the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the airport, and a 20-25 min walk from the center of town. the area is safe, and very easy to get to downtown by foot or taxi. the rooms are clean, beautifully decorated, there's many areas to hang out (including a rooftop to enjoy the beautiful sunset). Dan put a lot of heart into this place and it shows. Daniel, the chef, also makes a mean breakfast from his own home! this place has many repeat visitors, and it's easy to see why, highly recommended!

This place is friggin amazing!! If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing getaway in Cozumel, this is the place!! Greatest staff you’d ever meet, bilingual also for those of us that aren’t great with Spanish, and so extremely helpful when it comes to your stay “do’s and dont’s”. Food is awesome as well!

Dan has to be one of the best host I have ever encountered . He is very accommodating and friendly. With him, you just know everything will be taken care of. We stayed there for 3 nights and loved it. Dan and his employees always took care of us. The hotel room itself was also neat and nice. Definitely will come back and stay here again!

Flying into Cozumel is easy when you walk across the road and have amazing food, amazing service, and feel like family ambiance. We have stayed here multiple times throughout the years and we just cannot stop coming back. We used to split our time between here (once we discovered it) and something on the beach or an all inclusive. We found that is a tradeoff we are not willing to do anymore. We have been so spoiled at Casita De Maya that we just seem to get frustrated when food, drinks and ambiance are sub par but the view of the ocean is good. It is no longer a tradeoff we are willing to make.

I love to snorkel at different beaches and vacationing this way I spend less than I typically would and get to go to ALL the beaches on the island to snorkel. We also get to try all the restaurants and hidden gems around the island and do many more things than we typically would when "locked into" a resort. I love to vacation and have fun but I also like it to be cost effective. And the thought of paying to get food, drinks and a different beach while I am paying for an all inclusive resort really makes my wallet hurt.

Worried about getting around the island? Grab a taxi or rent a car, Dan the owner will help you set all that up. And talk about convenient, it is across from the airport so when you arrive there is no need to wait for anything, you just walk across the road and your vacation begins. Even if you are before check in or flying out later than checkout. You can stash your bags with confidence and just hang out, eat food or get drinks.

I just got home from my stay and I am so sad that I'm not still there. Thank you Dan for sharing your piece of paradise with me and thank you Daniel for the most awesome food and drinks I could ever ask for. Most of all thank you for our morning talks and the Spanish lessons. I can't wait to be back with you again . If there is anyone who hasn't been to Casita de Maya please do yourself a huge favor and get there as soon as you can. You will love every second of being there, I promise.

I LOVE this hotel SOOOOOOOO much.
It's small, cozy, comfy and run by a small close knit group who takes care of you soooooo well.
It's not an all inclusive, it's not on the beach, it's not "party central".
It's close to everything you could ever need, has a cute pool, comfortable, cozy rooms and an in-house chef to get you breakfast each day. Also, a cute little bar by the pool as well.
If you like low key, nice people, clean rooms and a great deal. Come meet some new friends here!
Myself and 3 of my friends try to get down here at least twice a year and more if we can pull it together.
Dan is the owner. Give him a call. He'll take care of you.
We love Casita de Maya!!!!!

Super cute small casitas. Dan, the owner and the rest of the staff are so kind and helpful, always there to help! Dan walked us around the corner to Diego’s Tacos, an amazing place for shrimp tacos. Definitely a must!!!

I have stayed in everything from 7 Diamond resorts to small b&bs throughout Mexico. Our experience at Casita De Maya was a unique pleasure all it's own. If you want a feel-at-home feel personal touch, then this is your place to stay in Cozumel. Thanks for the great hospitality Dan and the staff!
