Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

We had an incredible stay at Serena Safari Lodge. The staff was absolutely incredible, friendly, and accommodating. The accommodations were clean, neat, spacious, and beautiful. We had an incredible view overlooking Ngorongoro Crater from our room. They had evening entertainment before dinner with acrobats performing that was very enjoyable. Would highly recommend staying here!

This an absolute excellent place to stay while visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, it has view over the Crater and is fairly close 8km to the Gate.
The dinner in the restaurant was a choice of dishes of todays, wich is served at the table and very will cooked.
The bar have fireplaces as it can be chilly in 2000+ meters height

Excellent new hotel with a gorgeous view of the volcano crater. I really liked the room, large and spacious bathroom.

Was here in July 2022 and now again. What a difference. First visit dry with great views and sightings. Thought this could not be topped, but this year is simply heavenly. Service of serena ngorongoro steady and 100% in all departments. Would come back a 3rd time, if possible.

Absolutely heaven .. privacy of each room with view .. wish could have spent 1 more day there .

We enjoyed our time at the Serena Lodge. There are a number of steps from the lobby area to the room - so it was a bit tough for the more senior folks in the group. The Lodge is very beautiful with stone walls. Each room has a balcony that faces the crater. On a clear night you can see the sky filled with stars and in the morning we enjoyed the sunrise with the lake glowing. The views were out of the world.

We got there late and left early so couldn't enjoy the view. The buffet is huge with good food. Soup and main course are from the menu. Great service. Great location.

Wonderful panorama view to the inside of the crater. Very good price/value relation. Very friendly people.

We got to stay in room 44 which had THE BEST view of the crater!! Great gift shop, the food was beyond delicious!, the staff were warm and loving and always smiling! What a great lodge to explore! Anniversary celebration songs! Beautiful restaurant and bar with lots of seating options by giant windows or fireplaces. Great bed and shower!

Wonderful place on the rim of Ngorongoro crater, spectacular views and access to the crater. 2023 is the third time (2017,-2019, 2023) we have stayed at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge and loved every minute of it! The rooms are wonderful, the view awesome, the staff fabulous, what more can I say?

Best experience in Ngorongoro. The staff was very courteous, friendly and wonderful. The view from the balcony is spectacular. If you're visiting this little slice of heaven called Ngorongoro, please stay here. You won't regret it.

Despite the inclement weather throughout most of our stay the staff made us feel very welcome and at home. When the cloud & did lift briefly the view of the crater (which we had explored the day before) was truly spectacular!

Very nice experience to stay in Serena Safari lodge, we travelled with friends and kids less than 5 years... The moment we entered hotel we were welcomed with passion fruit juice, the hospitality was at its best. All staff were quite cooperative and dinner and breakfast prepared as per our indian choice(which was awesome in taste) ... The view from the balcony of room is awesome of the Ngorongoro crater (the view actually makes your day)

From evening 7pm onwards we enjoyed local folk dance by Masaai people which was good...

The location was great with only being a few minutes from the descent road into the crater. The lodge definitely had more of a hotel feel compared with some of the luxury camps we had stayed at. The bar/fireplace area was huge and a place a group of family or friends could relax and unwind after a driving safari. I do wish we had known about some of the day’s activities prior to arrival because we did miss a few activities. The food was okay and a big buffet style. The staff was great and made of feel extra special about our honeymoon with flowers in our room and a cake and song during dinner.

The lodge was amazing. While having coffee we were greeted by Zebra grazing outside our room. During walks around the lodge we regularly saw giraffes and zebras.
The over all location at the creators edge was breath taking.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The uniqueness of the stone buildings and thatched roofs added to the overall ambience . The nightly entertainment was always a great way to wind down from your day in the bush.
Would certainly recommend the lodge if your safari takes you to Ngorongoro Crater.

Great view from the rooms. I saw a pack of thirty elephants while sitting in my room's balcony, using binoculars of course.
The food was good (In Tanzania terms).
You can see an amazing view in the bar while having a drink.
An African acrobatics show was playing at the bar before dinner. It was fun and great for the kids.

The only thing that was annoying was that there wasn't wifi in our room
