Ngorongoro Entrance Gate

Wonderful experience. Unique volcanic crater populated by African animals. Must see

There are 2 entrances: one on the top of the crater ridge and one at the bottom of the way uphill. The one on the top is the most beautiful. We were welcomed by a traffic jam of jeep cars but the view of the crater was truly enchanting. Chilly weather even in August. We only waited for few minutes.
At the bottom gate we had more to wait in a thick forest infested by baboons. While sitting inside the jeep car, a baboon quickly jumped in from an open window and managed to steal our biscuits before fleeing away. Frightening at the beginning but lots of laughs immediately later.

Ngorongoro was mind blowing! The crater is immense and the experience bigger. We had a glorious day witnessing all types of wildlife, 4 of the Big 5 and numerous other species. The bird life is equally incredible! Worth spending anytime you can give it. Amazing.

A paradise of biodiversity where you can observe scenes and images that you see on the National Geographic channel just a few meters away. I was lucky that, the one who was our guide in this beautiful experience was Mr. Siya, a person who really loves what he does and explained to us every scene we saw.

Can't find words to describe this crater, but it is Breathtaking! Minimum needs 2 nights! Amazing spot!

Experience is once in a lifetime. An experienced guide is a must. We used Serengeti Smile and had the best experience. I can't speak for other guide companies, just checkout their reviews. It is so vast of an area, seeing the "big 5" is not guaranteed but all in all, a once in a lifetime experience!

This place is absolutely amazing. So many wildlife to see. We came in November and were told the landscape is not as green as other months but it was still very beautiful nonetheless.

NGORONGORO is one of the premier wildlife viewing sites in the world. We saw all the big five animal there including the elusive rhino. Really nice viewing point at the gate as well. Tip: come very early Morning to catch the rhino upclose.
