It’s hard to pinpoint my favorite aspect of this luxurious wilderness camp. Everything was top-notch, from the sumptuous tented rooms to the food to the doting staff. Try to get one of the rooms along the bottom of the hill, which feel more secluded and have better views. The early morning views from bed, looking out across the Savannah, are unforgettable.

A special thank-you to Gift, our waiter and assistant, who couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive.

We stayed 3 nights at Ole Serai and loved every second of it! It was our first African Safari Trip and were very much looking forward to camping in the Serengeti, and Ole Serai did not disappoint!

The staff was the highlight! Everyone we met was incredibly friendly and thoughtful - particularly Bennett, Masey, and Gift. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay and had everything we needed.

The tent was very spacious, including the bathroom and shower. We never had any issues with hot water (even when taking morning and afternoon showers in the same day). The bed was extremely comfortable (and I am usually not a fan of most hotel beds), and I slept soundly each night. The camp did a wonderful job putting you close to nature (seeing hippos and zebras grazing and hearing lions roaring at night is something I will never forget), while ensuring you were safe and looked after.

The food and dining service was excellent - a true luxury experience. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was delicious with lots of options each day. The staff was very accommodating, allowing you to select your breakfast and dinner times (we did lunch on the go).

Although it was our first trip to the Serengeti, it definitely won’t be our last. We will definitely be returning to Ole Serai!

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. The camp is tucked away in the Serengeti just by the migration route, such a beautiful setting.

Our “tent” was a palace!! Beautifully furnished with a lovely bathroom, spotlessly clean and the most comfortable pillows!! We particularly appreciated the weather forecast left with chocolates at turndown each evening courtesy of Johari.

We really enjoyed drinks in the bar before dinner each evening, and wow the food!! Really lovely variety and after the tour operator accidentally booked me onto the trip as vegan and the camp catered to me carefully for the first day until I twigged what had happened, I feel confident they take dietaries seriously! The lunches packed for safari each day were delicious.

To be so close to the wildlife was a unique experience (the staff guarding the camp did a fantastic job, I felt so safe, even hearing the lions at night).

But the highlight of our stay had to be the staff. All unbelievably warm and welcoming, but particular thanks to Benard, Tharmo, Everson and Gift. I won’t put any spoilers but your surprise on the final night was unforgettable, and will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

To anyone looking to book a stay in the Serengeti, I wholeheartedly recommend here.

My sister and I just returned from a stay at the Ole Serai Luxury Camp in the Serengeti. I would definitely recommend this tented camp to travelers. The accommodations are extremely spacious and luxurious for a tented camp. The staff is amazing and are pretty much one on one with you. The food is served plated not buffet and the surroundings are beautiful. They have Maasai escorts in the dark and they are always checking to be sure we are doing well. Wonderful time!!

What an experience! To stay in a luxury tent in the middle of the Serengeti amongst the animals. The accomodations were incredible, furnishings snd decor beautiful, amenities excellent, staff and service outstanding, dining and food great. Be prepared for some animal noises at night - even the roar of lion as it walks through camp. But the guards keep visitors safe.

Best place I have ever stayed! Everything was perfect. The staff were incredible. Wildlife wandering through the camp. Having travelled extensively, this is the pinnacle of hospitality.

The ultimate Serengeti experience, and probably one of the most unique and memorable hospitality experience you will ever have. The Ole Serai tents combine the utmost luxury with a full view and sound of the surrounding Serengeti wildlife, straight from your cozy bed. We went to sleep to the sound of lions and haynes and woke up to encounter elephants right in the camp. The Ole Serai amazingly friendly, helpful and professional staff allowed us to experience all that with a complete sense of security. Despite it's remote location, the camp boasts full amenities with clear attention to even the smallest details. I am grateful I had the chance to experience the Serengeti the first time staying at the Ole Serai Camp, I'm sure it wouldn't have been the same otherwise.

This "camp" is comprised solely of tents. The tents are beautifully built - strong, clean, dry, bug-free and super-comfortable. Staff are personable and very, very capable. Food is great. Best of all, your accommodation, and your dining tent, are both smack in the middle of some superb animal sighting. A pride of lions hunts locally, hippos roam at night. It is amazing! It's a bit of a drive from Seronera airstrip, but keep in mind that you're not there for the plane spotting. 😁

This is where the well- heeled comfort- loving nomad must stay. The tents have all the comforts that modern flesh is used to PLUS the camp is plumb in the middle of the reserve. A grunting hippo (or was it a lion?) added music to our evening. Birds of many hues and sizes, beaks and plumage greeted our mornings. The shower was hot and refreshing and much needed as the cold rain beat down. Yes- it IS possible to have a GREAT shower right in the middle of the Savannah.
Also learnt how to use a walkie- talkie to summon our Masai escort to the dinner tent. You aren't allowed to venture out alone to stay on the safe side.
It cannot be easy running this place, but it's a hugely commendable job being done.
One area of improvement though: something needs to be done about the interminable wait at the breakfast and dinner tables. We actually left without finishing breakfast because it wouldn't get served.
Still, I must say our packed lunches were excellent and very, very, plentiful. And, YES, there are adequate vegetarian options.
The staff is warm and friendly.
I totally recommend the place.

Ole Serai - The truly and probably the only luxurious tented camp experience deep in central Serengeti - "Turner Spring" and "Moro Kopjes"
