Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti

Service is fantastic. Serengeti is massive so depending on the time of the year the drive to the animals can be far. However being the premier lodge in the park you get the best guides. Our guide got us just a few meters from both the cheetah and Lions!

Exemplary - location is incredible, the view over the watering hole which you can see from the pool, terrace and some rooms is breathtaking. There are a myriad of little critters that pop up around the hotel - it is, after all, in the middle of the Serengeti - and we loved spotting the cute little hyraxes running around. We only spotted one elephant at the watering hole, plus a few baboons and some deer - but we’d heard that most of the other animals had started their migration paths already - oh well! The rooms are lush and comfortable, though due to the nature of most people’s travels here, you probably won’t spend much time inside them. That said, the hotel makes the time you do spend at the hotel amazing - service is friendly and warm. The food is incredible too, at both the terrace restaurant (which serves more Western-style dishes) or at Boma (which serves traditional Maasai dishes - try the octopus, it was superlative!). The hotel reception team will help plan your meals so you can try everything, and I also have to say that their on-the-go lunches are head and shoulders above anyone else’s - there is a good choice of salads, sandwiches and sweets to pick from; and it made game drive lunches that much better. Then, there isn’t much better than coming back from a game drive and relaxing in the afternoon sun with a cocktail. The only downside is that our stay was much shorter than we’d have liked! Cost wise - obviously a bit of a splurge, even in low-/mid-season, but if it’s within your budget, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Thank you to the whole team for making everything so memorable.

We recently had a wonderful stay with our family (14 people). The rooms were beautiful, the food was delicious with many options for different preferences (important to myself as a vegetarian) and the staff were exceptional. Particular thanks to Deo and Peter for their outstanding service and care. They went above and beyond everyday to make both us and our children feel at home. We also had a wonderful time on our game drives with our driver Dickson, who was informative, kind and thoughtful. Absolutely hope to return one day.

I had a great time with my kids at this hotel I really can't wait to go back. The staffs are very knowledgeable and friendly, the view of the animals and the quite surroundings it was very appealing. It is a must go place.

Perfect place to discover the endless Beauty of Serengeti. Would recommend rooms with views over the water hole which is just spectacular by the diversity of the animals coming there to drink in peace. Staff is great and very pleasant and food excellent😘😘😋😋as i like eating lol🤣

Some really nice suites, standard rooms also very comfortable. Great food at the variety of restaurants. Be sure to catch the cultural sharing from the Masai in the Boma, and a sunset drink at Majis. The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable. I didn't personally try any of the activities provided by the lodge, but did talk to many other guests who were happy with them. A really outstanding place. Highly recommend!

We had a memorable stay at this hotel. Everything as expected of a Four Seasons Hotel, despite its remote location. Special compliments to the chef and his team for the excellent Indian-themed course meal, served by a most outstanding young man Deo (we hope we remembered his name right and that the hotel management recognizes his potential). Lovely watermelon mojito and Aperol spritz. Thank you to all staff for making the stay special. Finally on this safari we had WiFi that was good enough to get some work done, and a room that was completely free of insects. And a power rainforest shower!

If I had some ideas for improvement, perhaps may I suggest the hotel consider some South Asian / East Asian dishes for the breakfast buffet as your Asian guests may not enjoy having typical sausages, mushrooms and other western fare for breakfast. Please consider also perhaps some snacks/tapas like chips or samosas for snacking by the pool, as there were only complimentary mixed nuts available. Also, we know very well that the staff do their very best to ensure guests are happy but may we gently suggest that a few of them are reminded to be a bit more discreet and refrain from persisting in trying to have a protracted conversation / asking if “everything is ok” multiple times with guests who are trying to eat their breakfast and rushing for a game drive.

Our family stayed at the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti recently. The experience was beyond our expectations. The staff, specifically, Deo and Peter, made us feel welcomed and at home. Thank you both for being so attentive and kind. We had such an incredible experience because of you. The views at the lodge are stunning. The rooms were beautiful with different features. I especially enjoyed our private pool. The Safari trips exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible, thanks to the chefs. The artists are so talented as they create stunning pieces at the lodge. We purchased a zebra painting before our departure. The Boma experience was entertaining and unique. Thanks to entire staff; you have ensured that our family will never forget the memories made at the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. Asante asana.

Perfect place to experience the Serengeti. The watering hole is right by the pool, so you can literally sit there all day and watch every animal, from hippos, to zebras, to giraffes walk by. Plus the service is superb—John with at the poolside restaurant and Joseph as our driver went above and beyond!

We really loved our stay. As always at Four Season hotels the rooms are large and comfortable, this time with the added bonus of a Serengeti view (with plenty of animals) and a Leopard spotting. The staff were friendly and attentive - some times things can take a little longer in The Serengeti than London (for example), but that is part of the experience and at-least always served with kindness.

The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. the bed was very comfortable and amenities were great.

One of the most spectacular experiences of my life. The staff were attentive, professional and polite. Fausta Mselia welcomed us to the hotel explaining everything with great clarity and kindness. She is a true asset to the Lodge!

Not only was the hotel exceptionally beautiful, the views were unlike any other, with Zebras, Topi’s, baboons and even elephants using the watering hole near the pool.

The food was spectacular as was each of the restaurants. Florence at Boma was super friendly and knowledgable and she looked after us incredibly well and we had a fantastic conversation with her.

Hassan led a wonderful sunset yoga class, which we really enjoyed!

Had an AMAZING time here for our honeymoon- truly dreamy! The place itself is incredible with elephants drinking from the water hole while we were in the pool. The service, however, was on a different level. If you are coming, lookout for Gift, Florence and Deo - they will make sure you have an unforgettable time!

While service and food in the hotel is perfect, the packed lunches (that you normally need or safaris) get only 1 star. If I would get that type of food at a gas station, I would return it

I spent three short nights here during an Around the World adventure last month and this was a complete haven in the midst of the African Serengeti.

Staff are wonderful, endeavoring to learn your name and get to know you to provide personalized service and remember what drinks you like and how to make things just the way you like them. Everyone was excellent from breakfast, lunch, dinner and the bar/pool area.

There is a beautiful gift-shop on site with some pretty swag as well as a Tanzanite store on the bottom level and artists in residence painting original art you can purchase.

No detail has been overlooked here and the food and amenities are on point. The rooms are large and beautiful. I had a view of the watering hole by the pool and enjoyed sitting on my balcony complete with provided bug-spray and other amenities to keep me well-protected.

At night, staff or Maasai will escort you to your room to protect you from the animals - but as long as you stay on the raised wooden walking paths - you should be fine.

Safari vehicles are going out all day long to take you on a game drive and the experienced staff are well-versed in providing knowledge and answering any questions about the animals you'll see.

It was a 1.5-2 hour drive from the airstrip but we saw plenty of wildlife on the way - lions, elephant, monkey, zebra, giraffe, birds, etc.

I would come back here any day - beautiful establishment with wonderful food and people. A++++

Wonderful resort. Highly recommend. In the middle of the Serengeti. The food is excellent.

It's a great if expensive oasis in the middle of the Serengeti wilderness. The pool was particularly great. Visited in December and the place was very quiet with few guests. The food was on par with western standards which is a departure from the normal Tanzanian cuisine, which I was pretty tired of after a couple of weeks. I do recommend this place, even though getting there is a bit of an adventure itself.
