All The Staff are always so nice and extremely helpful with what ever I need. I'm very thankful because without NCCC Ottawa campus I would not have been able to attend college.

I use to hear this was the college to go to from LPN to ADN. However lately I have heard complete opposite. “Not to waste my time and money because it’s almost as if staff want you to fail” with their newly implemented curriculum. Setting a standardize way of exam testing to improve their outcomes for boards vs implementing better ways students learn seems a bit one sided. I was thinking about applying in a couple months but I’m not so sure about that anymore. Especially when they are unwilling to work with any student regarding assignments, deadlines and testing. That’s everything I would need to move onto the next level of my nursing education. Making the decision to higher ones education is difficult enough. Making it seem impossible to reach that goal is way to stressful. This would be my livelihood and I could not risk my hard earn money and time on a program that is so unwilling to work with their students because of some newly implemented curriculum seemingly so unrealistic and a bit harsh. I don’t expect the program to be easy. For years I have heard the complete opposite of what I am hearing now. I am just curious as to way they had to change their curriculum and why they chose to focus in on exam testing vs other subject areas in the program? Taking one exam and not staying above 80% could make it or break someone from moving forward as all exams outweigh everything else point wise. My hard earn money and time is just to valuable to waste on any program that is unjust.

I took my CNA class through Neosho on campus and did not have many problems until this semester, in fact I even enjoyed coming to class, I had an AMAZING teacher, Krista Skoog. Then when trying to get into the CMA class. I was told that they did not know what the cut off was for the ACT score and when I told them I got a 18 in reading they assumed I still needed to take the placement test. So I made an appointment with the lady at the front desk. I arrived for my appointment and I found that the man that was able to get me into the lab to test was in a meeting, I stayed a while then had to leave because of obligations at work. I made another appointment for the same time and day the next week. Showed up and he was in yet another meeting. I sat with another student for about 15 minutes in front of his office. I went to the front office and she called down the TLC and there was a lady who had been sitting at her desk the whole time we had been waiting and didn't say one word to us. She ended up being able to help us, but thanks for having customer service, she could of very easily asked if she could help us with something, yet she didn't. I was also billed $24.00 for my CNA class, but yet my mother came down and wrote a check for the whole amount so where is the 24 dollars coming from? All they can tell me is that it was for my student fees. I and my CMA classmates were not informed that this class would be online. That would of been kind of nice to know ahead of time. We also zoom with our teacher who is an hour away teaching another class, but yet the computers here have no cameras. We recently received 4, there is 7 in the class so we have to resort to using our own phones so our instructor can see us.
