Nurse Kaylee is phenomenal and Dr Koster always thinks out slide the box/is amazing with all of my kids!

We followed Dr. Koster when he moved his practice from Lawrence to Ottawa. We've never had a problem getting a same-day appointment for our kids, which is not the case everywhere. He is willing to spend time answering questions and provides excellent care. All staff, from the front desk to the nurses, create a great experience. We love Dr. Koster!

Took my son in for the first time yesterday. Am very pleased with the outcome. He was the only doctor in town that would see my sick child. We were turned away by so many places that I wonder how the hell any other doctor still has a license to practice medicine. Doctors are supposed to help sick people. But no, we got turned away because my son was sick. Their words not mine. Dr. Koster not only accepted a new patient, he was able to get him in the same day and give me answers finally.

We have been attending this office for about 2 or 3 years now. Everyone at this office is wonderful! The nurses are amazing as is Joette at the front desk. Dr. Koster is very thorough when answering any questions we have. I always feel heard and know all four of my children are in good hands when we attend this office. HIGHLY recommend!!

I absolutely love the people in this office! I have recommended Dr. Koster to many. My children truly enjoy him as well as do I. He is very explanatory so we are all on the same page. The nurses are so sweet and enjoy their jobs. Best Doctors office I have ever been to.

I have no idea why anyone in the Ottawa or even Franklin county area would ever go anywhere but here for their pediatric needs. All of the staff from the front desk to Dr. Koster himself are so very kind and professional. They never seem to tire of my endless questions and Kayley is ALWAYS quickly responsive to my phone messages.

He is taking great care of our newborn girl. Listening to our concerns and helping us through them. Great nurses and office staff too.

Brought my children in for a doctor's visit. Had the paperwork already filled out as I was bringing in more than one in to see the doctor that day. When I got there the lady at the front was very nice and pleasant. When we got in to see the doctor, instead of saying the doctor, we saw three nurse practitioners. My mother and I where taken back that we had three. One for each child? But each one did a separate look over of all the children. So one practitioner looked at all of my children and then the second practitioner looked at all of my children attend the Third looked at all of my children. It wasn't like one practioner took a child and did a thorough examination. Their assessment of my children was beyond brief. They barely looked over my infant. Doing absolutely the bare minimum to check her over. They glanced in her diaper but did not do the pulse check. They did not check any of her joints. When the doctor came in he did not do a pulse check. When it came to my other child, we spent way more time talking about him. He was there for a yearly exam but nothing was done. They listen to his heart and listen to him breathe that was it. Two weeks later I scheduled to go see the doctor at Panda Care in Lawrence. The doctor there did an absolutely thorough job with my infant daughter checking her joints, checking to make sure everything was working. Checked pulses in all the proper spots. That visit was outstandingly well done. I will not be coming back to this doctor. Granted I did bring in more than one child. My fault on that one. But still they should have enough time set aside to do a thorough exam. A thorough exam was not done on any of my children.

My husband works as a pharmacist, and I am employed as a social worker. Stay away from Dr. Koster!

I am filing a formal complaint with the Joint Commission, UnitedHealth, AdventHealth and the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.

Do not take your children to Dr Chris Koster in Ottawa, he spreads misconduct and misinformation to patients. Very unprofessional and unsympathetic... He has a biased opinion and ignores modern science. He is extremely uneducated when it comes to breastfeeding mothers. My lactation consultant has proven him incorrect numerous times. He is disrespectful and will undermine you and call you names if you have a different opinion than him.

Do not take your children to Dr Koster. He’s not patient at all with special needs children. My daughter is only 3. She’s terrified of doctors. And he gets frustrated. We went in for a cold that was lasting over a week, her cough was bad. And she was scheduled to have surgery a couple days later. He tried to look in her ears too(prone to ear infections) and she does fight it. But he said there was no ear infection. Then he just said it’s a virus. Didn’t offer any rsv test or anything. Then I asked him about getting diapers covered by insurance. My daughter is special needs. Gets ssdi. We just moved here, I have all the paperwork stating she’s already been diagnosed with autism. And he’s like we don’t know she’s autistic. We haven’t done an evaluation. Well it’s in her health records. She gets ssdi already. She’s already been through all the hoops to get disability. And he said nope. There’s no way she’s been diagnosed since she just turned 3. Literally arguing with us. He just acted like he knew everything and that we were dumb. Even if she did have to go through the “testing” again I wouldn’t let him do it. He has no idea what he’s doing. And my daughter was terrified of him.
Also. I asked about the survey since my daughter was sick. He told me not to even tell them she was sick…. She’s coughing. With a runny nose. They’re obviously going to know. I definitely will not be returning. I’ll make the travel to Lawrence. Screw this place.

Also. Just an update. My daughter had surgery. And the ent doctor that did it said her ear was definitely infected. And it had been infected for awhile, so Dr Koster lied.

Dr(if you can call him that)Koster almost killed my son.... we took him in for a constipation issue. He gave us instructions to dose him every hour(up to 8x/day) until his stool was clear. We made numerous inquiries regarding us thinking it was too much. After a few days,, His reply was to keep going(he went as far as to degrade our intelligence and said his ph.d. doesn't lie). Our son ended up in the ER for 2 weeks due to kosters incompetent instructions and procedures... our son had to go through things that no 10 year old boy should ever have to(consistant enimas, and GI scopes). Koster caused my son to go into refeeding syndrome and lose around 30 lbs in 1 week!. He has major damage to his intestines from the miralax Koster pushed on him.. He almost killed my boy.... IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN, DO NOT LET HIM NEAR THEM!! He is a sorry excuse for a "doctor".... I pray he doesn't get the chance to harm another child.

Dr. Koster is outdated about kids nutrition. Doesn't know about baby led weaning.

Dr Koster harassed me online in a very unprofessional way and then stalked me privately on Facebook to harass me more..
