Hotel had all the perks of a big chain but great small town feel. Was clean, cheap and had plenty of rooms available when we need it. Breakfast was good, beds were super comfortable. So glad we stayed here!

Quaint hotel in Forest City. No frills but clean and nice beds to sleep on. 😴 Staff were exceptional during our 3 day stay over Christmas.

Staying at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Forest City was a chapter of an adventure I’ll happily share. I remember walking through their doors, my toolkit ready for a day of Roomba repairs – yes, those little robotic vacuums have more personality than one would expect, and occasionally they need a bit of TLC. As I checked in, I thought, "Never had any issues!" and true to form, this stay would maintain that record – but not without its own unique stories.

The room itself was a cozy haven, a comforting embrace after a day spent in the intimate guts of machines. One night, seeking to sate a craving for local cuisine, I ventured into their recommended diners – quaint little places that feel like they’ve been lifted from a movie set, where the flavors are homespun and the smiles are genuine.

However, there was this one oddity; as I delved into my meal, the serene ambiance was pierced by a cacophony of sound from a fellow diner’s phone. The visuals weren't clear from my booth, but the soundtrack was unmistakable – a TV show playing at full blast. I found myself signalling the server, who, with a mix of diplomacy and quiet authority, resolved the auditory intrusion. It’s a testament to the staff's attentiveness that the peace was restored with a minimum of fuss.

My visit also serendipitously aligned with the local chatter about the hotels’ television policies – a peculiar rumor that Quentin Tarantino's films were persona non grata on their screens. I chuckled at the thought – it's always nice to have a break from the gratuitous on-screen antics, but I don’t really buy into such tales. The Cobblestone Inn & Suites strikes me as the kind of place that celebrates all forms of storytelling.

On one of my jaunts through the lobby, I had a chance encounter with a gentleman who regaled me with his recent escapade of removing a porta potty from his cabin land – a story that was both hilarious and a little heartbreaking in the logistics that rural living sometimes demands. We shared a laugh, and I realized that this hotel has a knack for bringing people together, even if just for a snippet of their lives.

My departure was as smooth as my arrival, with the check-out process leaving a lasting impression – not through efficiency alone, but through the delightful array of hand-drawn emojis that adorned my receipt. It was a personal touch, a kind-hearted wave goodbye that felt genuine and considerate.

Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Forest City is more than just a place to lay your head. It’s a community hub, a collection of stories, and a testament to the kind of heartfelt service that leaves you with a tapestry of memories. Yes, even those involving loud TV shows on phones and rogue porta potties. The humanity of it all is rather charming, really.

Spent a night here waiting for our Winnebago to be repaired. This seems to be a new motel and it is very clean. The room was very comfortable with plenty of towels and wash clothes in the bathroom. The bed slept well and the sheets were fresh. I had breakfast the next morning and it was hot and tasty. Had scrambled eggs and sausage as well as waffles. The coffee was fresh and hot.

To be honest, our night was absolutely miserable prior to checking in to Cobblestone. We’re Minnesotans who got stuck in IA during the worst annual blizzard warning. After having to be emergency rescued in a ditch, Heather (who was a one-woman show) made our mood (and our stay) a million times better. Not only was she helping a bunch of other worried customers, she consoled me while I was emotional, made us laugh, provided us with first aid for frostbite, AND cooked us a frozen pizza (knowing there would be stranded families without dinner). Throughout the night, she tended to our needs while folding laundry and cleaning In terms of the hotel itself, it’s wonderful. Cozy, modern, great breakfast. I feel so grateful that this Cobblestone was closest to where we were stranded in the blizzard. Thank you ❤

Cleanest, Friendliest, and Enjoyable Hotel I have ever stayed at! From the time you enter the lobby to your room. The tables clean, Fresh delicious apples, and hot coffee. The font desk went beyond welcoming and inviting. Every time Heather saw my son and I, asked how we are enjoying our stay and genuinely cared about us. Even gave me a fresh warm blanket because I mentioned it was chilly. All the staff we met, smiled and very helpful. The room was exceptional! Tables clean, desk clean: No dust. The bathroom: toilet, tank, sink, faucet, tub and floor, CLEAN. Shower pressure is perfect and plenty of Hot water. I did have a few hours to myself and it was very peaceful. Across the street is an A&W Restaurant or Shooters to eat. We were on the 2nd floor but literally 2 sets of 5 steps each stairs. but just incase, cant do any stairs. I cannot wait to stay there again. Thank you Heather!

The hotel is clean, smells great, easy to find and people who work there are friendly, even when they are having a not so great day. The front desk people do EVERYTHING and still manage to smile and make small talk. We would stay there again if we ever need to be in Forest City.

The Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Forest City, IA, is my home away from home. I am from Texas and was visiting Waldorf University for a quick visit with my son and to see a home game. However, upon my arrival (literally pulling into the driveway), my transmission was shredded, so while my car was being worked on, I was lucky enough to spend the next 16 days with the best group of workers I have ever met. I do not remember everyone's names, but Heather, Jessica, and Nicole (and others) were very accommodating and listened to me ramble when I'm sure they had things to do but treated me as if I were the only thing they needed to focus on at that time. That was nice when my son was in class, and I had no one else to talk to.

The rooms, restrooms (in rooms & public), entryway, and kitchen areas are always clean. Everything is always well-stocked, with great teas and coffee 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They maintain bowls of fresh fruit in the entryway and kitchen. I do not know where they buy their oranges, but they are some of the best-tasting oranges I have ever had. I am a middle-aged woman who was traveling alone, and I never felt unsafe inside or outside the facility.

With that being said, I HIGHLY recommend this facility for your next visit to Forest City, IA. Much love from Texas - thank you for taking great care of me - until we meet again. -Crystal Rm #125 :)
