The campground was awesome & the river access made our spot even cooler. Clean bathrooms, nice free showers, accessible fire pit, fire wood $5.00 and 19 minutes to town to grab items you may have forgot to bring. The river was perfect for paddle boarding and it felt like a bathtub. The trailhead hike was beautiful! The temperature drops on the coast, so extra blankets & warm clothes are a must. 😀

We really enjoy staying in the cabins at this state park. The river is a beautiful sight from the porch. I feel safe visiting with just my little boy and me. Restrooms are clean, park is well-lit, the host seems to be actively checking on everything. We haven't had a bad experience yet 🙂

Wow, what a treat! The park is so awesome right on the river. Very clean! Space 25 was really nice, big easy to get the 28' Rv in could probably get a 40' in this site and #26. We were up agiant the road and it was still very quite.About 50ish spaces. Maybe 10 of those back up to the river. Some of the spots are really large lots of space for tents and equipment. Only downfall is our site had the smallest fire ring only about 6" tall and small. Oh, and no cell service down the hill better up on the road.

Great park. The welcome center is such a cool idea and the volunteers and staff are amazing as well.
Great dune access and will be heading back here as soon as I can to explore more!

Gorgeous park on the Chetco River! Loved walking along the river. We also loved the hike about 1/2 mile up the road the ranger told us about. It was a loop hike with Redwoods & Myrtle trees.

Great trail that runs along the river and ends near the Redwood nature trail. The first has beautiful views of the river. The Redwood one is stunning with quite a few old growth trees.

Amazing in so many ways! This campground has large private rv and tent sites. It is right on the river! I love that it is always very clean, quiet at night, and everyone is very friendly. This is my all time favorite campground!

River is clear and clean, park is kept nice all the time. Mike the host was great, we have been here previously and the host then was awesome too! They sell bundles of firewood. You can ride scooters, bikes, etc around but they are pretty strict with kids under 16 yo wearing helmets and going with the flow of traffic. The day use area is nice and has a volleyball net. Some spaces are pretty small, I don't recommend over 36-38 ft trailer/RV unless experienced! FYI it's 8 miles from Azaela Park, buts it's SO windy so if you get car sick be aware! Mosquitos haven't been too bad when we've been there. Overall, everything we've been, we've had a great time!

This is the nicest campground I’ve ever stayed. It’s so clean and seems like a little community. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate. Even the hand soap in the bathroom smells better than my own at home. There’s much to do at Loeb. Bird watching, a trail that takes you to a Redwood Grove, watching salamanders dive, and swimming and paddling the warm, clear waters of the Chetco, which is amazing. My only complaint is my campsite, which is on me for making a bad pick. I stayed in 33 and while it has a pretty view of the water, the path to the river is right next to it (not shown on the reservation map or I wouldn’t have picked it). So I had people talking and walking down to the river at all hours of the day and night. The bathrooms also have two really bright lights that shone right into the campsite all night and kept waking me up. This site seems best for a large group that wants to be close these things, or an RV where it doesn’t matter. It didn’t ruin my experience though. I’ll be back next summer.

Great park/campground to have a church picnic in!!! There's an area to play volleyball or badminton. They have bbq areas to grill. Plenty of great space for the perfect family outing!!! Rates for overnight camping as well.

We like coming here for the day use area and trail as well as the river. We like September better than July. We had the river to ourselves.

We enjoyed spending time at this beautiful park. With easy access to the Chetco River. Nice picnic area and a moderately easy walking trail. We enjoyed walking through the Myrtle trees and a few Redwoods also. Beautiful old trees. The nature trail isn't handicap/wheelchair friendly but is fairly easy walking.

This is a hidden gem of state parks. Away from highway traffic. Has 50 amp power water. No dump site on the park you need to use harris beach state park or the rest area across from Harris beach state park. They have private showers. The grounds are well kept. Highly recommend this park.

We parked here to go on the hike that leaves out of the picnic tables next to the road that goes down to the river. The trail is fairly well-maintained but did get a bit muddy in some spots and there's one bridge that has a tree fallen on it. It's only on one end of the bridge though and you are able to step over it fairly easily, the dog ended up going underneath it. There are trash cans only at the beginning so keep that in mind, the end of the trail caved in so you have to go back a little bit to cross onto the Redwood Trail Naturehead.

Spent memorial day weekend in Brookings this year. Took the fam to Loeb Park and had a blast! We lucked out with 77 degree weather, nice wind and beautiful water.

Was able to borrow a drone to try and capture pictures I can't normally get.
Coming back 8n June!

Enjoyed the nature walk. Please provide the handouts that explain the alphabetical markers along the trail. Found a brochure at the redwood walk and realized it included Loeb Park. It would have helped immensely to have the info when I completed the walk

Hiked the two trails from Loeb State Park: River view trail and Redwood trail.

River View was the easiest with beautiful views of the river below the trail, maybe 1/2 mile with education points along the way.

Redwood Trail was longer, maybe a mile, we didn't see the beginning of the trail and ended starting at the end and going backwards. It was very scenic approx 1 mile, some beautiful Redwoods and streams. It seemed a little of uphill, but a very distinct trail. It goes in a loop, so we ended up back where we started.

Easy to find just 8 mi off highway 101, reservations A MUST as there are only about 4 spots @ 1st come, 1st serve, SADLY some people come out early put stuff in the spots and don't come back for days, very disrespectful. We got lucky as there was a cancellation, and up went to our tents 🏕
This campground is immaculately clean ❣ Hookups.. electric, water, showers, fire pit and walking distance to the Chetco River, plenty of trash cans to put your trash in Thank you so much. Quiet time is posted 10pm -7am, pet friendly must be leashed. They have a massive area for family events with volleyball nets, Not sure of that area must be reserved in advance. You'll need to check into that. You can drive your vehicle down to the gravel bar next to the river 🎉 Be safe and happy camping America 😊🏕

This was an extremely beautiful camp ground. Definitely for a more laid back peaceful experience. Plenty of wildlife, squirrels, birds etc. Full of various styles of camping spots, bathrooms, shower. The river has plenty of room, to explore and a kid friendly swimming spot that's not too deep.

Fantastic campground and even better swimming area! I can't believe how nice it is here. The river is a perfect temperature and it is so beautiful. There are several big rocks to jump off of, and plenty of salamanders to catch. The campground has showers, and clean bathrooms. There are some large campsites, and a number of really small ones. But you are like 12 miles from Brookings So really if you aren't down by the river you'll be at the beach. I don't expect to spend much time in the campsite. There are even several small cabins for rent. Can't recommend this campground highly enough!
