Wife and I had never been here; so we stopped in for a bite to eat; it was Taco Tuesday - WOW glad we did...the service is impeccable, the food was awesomely delicious. And the atmosphere was very comfortable and friendly. We make this our date night special evening now...

13 Feb 24; Another date night at the Fat Irish Kitchen & Pub: we had the Clam Chowder in the bread bowl, and of course would not be complete without the Awesomely Yummy dessert of the Drunkin Moose-which is a silky chocolate whipped into deliciousness with a shot of Baileys...Another wonderful evening at the Fat Irish Kitchen & Pub...

The Fat Irish was a great stop. We were seated right away at 6 on a Saturday. Our server was great and super attentive. The food was really enjoyable and the atmosphere is fun. It is pretty loud inside. They have a good beer selection and the bar tenders are engaging and fun. The fish and chips and chowder were better than some of the other sea food places and about the same price. It's worth the stop.

My first time being here but with a delayed because of the kitchen I loved it.

With got cheese curds mixed as it was cheesy and the cheese pull as well taste amazing.

My mom loved her clamps chowder as a bread bowl.

My pub burger was amazing as it was very juicy with rich flavor. Added bacon and Swiss cheese to truly set it off.

My brother got the Philly cheese steak.

I've written a lot of reviews but I've never been as excited as I am to write this one. Fat Irish is hands down the best restaurant/pub I have ever been to and I will fight anyone that thinks otherwise.

The atmosphere: when you walk in you can hear everyone laughing and having a good time, good music, and you're always met with smiling faces to greet you and ask you how you're doing. The ambiance couldn't be more suiting for the whole set up, and the fire pit out front is a nice touch.

The staff: between our three visits we interacted with about 7 different staff members and all of them were beyond amazing at their jobs. From suggestions to their general ability to know just what you need/want, you really can't find better staff anywhere else and you can absolutely tell that they love their job and are treated well which is so damn rare to find these days.

The food: oh dear god the food. Words cannot express just how good the food is here. Never before have we ate at the same place twice while on vacation and we stopped here three times before going home. Altogether we had their Ruban sandwich, the clam chowder, corned beef tacos, the beer battered cheese curds (these stole the show), the turkey club sandwich, their carrot cake, and chocolate gnache cheesecake. The chowder was like velvet. The clam seemed almost slow cooked and the baccon addition was so unrealistically good. The corned beef was the best we ever had and it just fell apart in your mouth. But the cheese curds. The beer battered, served with ranch and a sweet chili sauce cheese curds. These were heaven. Perfectly fried and they straight melt in your mouth, I would travel the 5 hours just to have those again and plan on it.

My wife and I have ate at a lot of places on vacations, and just in general, but this is the blueprint for what every restaurant in the world should aim for. I really cannot describe our visits here as anything short of Perfect. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was better than expected. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and inviting. We seriously cannot wait to come back.

This place is my favorite! Whether it's a chilly winter day indulging in some Irish stew or a delightful summer evening, relishing a meal in the outdoor seating area, I always have a great time. The service is incredibly friendly and accommodating. With a menu offering a fantastic variety of small bites to hearty meals that leave you satisfied for hours, this spot is truly special.

This place is amazing! This is my second time and I had to take my husband. The Irish Stew is legendary and tastes like it comes from Grandma’s kitchen. Hands down one of my favorite places in town! They care about their customers and even when a mistake is made (which is rare) they go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy.

Great customer service! The music and the vibe of this place is cozy and makes you feel at home. Can’t speak any higher of this place. It’s a must stop for friends, family and newcomers. Thank you to you and your team at Fat Irish for a great date night.

We tried this place out for our first time and we'll definitely be back! The fish and chips meal was my choice and my husband had the Cottage Pie. We both enjoyed our food! The next time we came for weekend brunch and had the Big Harry Bloody Mary. Wow! It's a meal in itself! The waitresses were sweet and I even got a free piece of cheesecake for my birthday.

Absolutely perfect! It's everything you could ask for in an Irish pub!! The bar tender was probably the single best I've ever seen. Do yourself a favor and stop if you get a chance. 100%!

Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner. The clam chowder was delicious! Ordered the fish tacos since it was Taco Tuesday and I couldn't finish it because there was something spicy hot in it.

We stopped in for dinner on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We had a delicious dinner of fish and chips, calamari and Caesar salad. The calamari was perfect and the fish and chips was so fresh. We had a nice variety of beers to choose from as well. We realized that there may not be any restaurants open on Thanksgiving so we ordered a whole meal to take with us for the next day. We had a wonderful Irish Stew and Banners and mashed potatoes. Even warmed up in our hotel microwave, it tasted perfect. We had a fun and unique ho.iday dinner. We will definitely be back on our next trip.

Delicious food and full bar. Highly recommend the clam chowder bowl with fresh garlic toast!! Man it's heavenly. The garlic infused vodka Bloody Mary is the best I've had in my life. We also tried the spicy fish tacos, club sandwich, savage fries, and multiple beers on tap, etc. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu next time we stop in Brookings. Very pleased with our waitress too, she was friendly and attentive

Super friendly service. I ordered my food with alterations and they totally rolled with it and were super sweet about it. If you're not a thousand island dressing person but want those savage fries, ask for gravy instead, it was SO GOOD!

Cool little pub with friendly employees! We stopped by for appetizers and drinks and had a good experience. We ordered local beers and a Made Marian martini. All were great! We also ordered the mixed cheese curds and jalapeño steamer clams. Everything tasted awesome.

We were in town looking for something to eat late at night and the menu for this pub was in the binder at our Airbnb. Major bonus that it was literally right around the corner. They have a beautiful deck area with a fire pit in the shape of a clover. We ate outside even though it was a September evening. We ordered chicken wings, savage fries and a cheeseburger.. I also decided to try a seasonal pumpkin spice apple cider. Everything was really delicious and my favorite was the Savage fries!!! Our server was friendly and attentive and it was overall a great experience. Thanks! We will be back☘

Great food, sports bar atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor dining. Great food and good service. My husband had fish and chips and I had the blarney tacos(a must try!). Their clam chowder is excellent. We will definitely go back on our next coast trip.

Husband and I went to this delicious pub for my birthday lunch. The people were kind and warm. The food was killer. We were too full by desert and took it to go. Husband had the bangers and mash and I had the penne pasta. Fresh food and wonderful atmosphere. They knocked it out the ballpark. This will be forever, one of our go to places when we visit Brookings.
