Came back for our 4th stay at the Chetco River Inn. So beautiful outside and a cozy cabin feel inside. It was so nice to have room for our extended family to all be together, under one roof. And we loved having the whole family off their devices. When you live off the grid you need to conserve energy and we had no trouble at all with the amount of energy the solar panels provided even though we had every bed full with kids on the floors. We spent the majority of our time on the water but when we were inside there were puzzles and books and games. Had a blast, again. can't wait to come back.

A secret retreat -almost too good to share! Beautiful location 18 miles up the Chetco River from the coast. The water is spectacular and the location is peaceful. The Inn has everything you could need. A great place to unplug -literally (off the grid with no cell service!). comfortably housed our 10 family members with room to spare. we were on the river daily, rain or shine in June. Really unexpected to have such comfort and amenity in such a remote location with private riverfront access. we'll be back.

37 of us enjoyed time at Chetco River Inn last week. Our favorite things: THE RIVER, The Kitchen and the Common Areas.
There was plenty of room for everyone.... well, we did have 3 tents pitched where some of the teenagers slept and Mom and Dad had the Rock House to themselves.
We played soooooo many board games. Some we brought and some that were there already.
There is plenty of outdoor seating on the deck and patio, around the fire pit.!!!
The river is just a syndrome throw away, literally. Just a short......
Oh wait! The Salamanders!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness. They're everywhere, easy to catch and cute as heck.
Ok back to the River. It was much warmer than many rivers I've swam in. A short walk to an amazing swimming hole, complete with large rock to jump from, is crystal clear. Bring you goggles and snorkel. See how many salamanders you can catch.
The caretakers were wonderful and available if needed. Haha, the sprinklers went off on the tents the first morning.
The place was comfortable although the furniture is quite dated.
The place is always booked... we waited 2 years to get a full week.

The website lacks substance and the photos just don't do the place justice. It's absolutely wonderful.
And we were able to pick enough blackberries to bake 5 pies and make syrup.

I'll be sending odometer readings to the owners because the directions are completely outdated. Not that we got lost but DON'T FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS, use the horrible directions on the website. Hourly that will be updated soon.
It's 25 min into town and less then an hour to the coast.

You should book a stay.... if you can get a spot.

Cheers

This was the most epic place for our honeymoon! The caretakers Ann and Tony were so wonderfully hospitable. We stayed in the Rockhouse and were completely off grid with the comforts of home. We were able to just sit and talk without city distractions. The river is beautiful and not too cold, just right for swimming and sunbathing. We will definitely return and will recommend to anyone looking to completely unwind and energize the soul!

Had an amazing week with our family at the Chetco River Inn. We went during the summer with the kids and had a fabulous time relaxing on the property. The weather was perfect, in the 80's and the river was so refreshing. The kids loved playing at the "beach" in front of the lodge, and we had so much fun floating down the river together. The gardens were so beautiful, perfect for our lunches and nap time! Can't wait to go back!

Was spacious enough for our large family reunion. Very cool place. Swam in the river, ate some of the produce from their garden. Loved the getaway.

Beautiful views of the Chetco River. Being able to sit and peacefully listen to the water flowing, the birds chirping and enjoy the sunshine.....WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?

Absolutely gorgeous grounds! 38 acres of pristine riverfront with great vistas and trails. Unfortunately, during the time we were there, both the main house and rock house had a rodent infestation. People in every bedroom heard them at night. Lots of wildlife to see, fish, newts, frogs, snakes, and bats (19+ in the carport). The kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of eating & entertaining space for large groups. However, the inside was dated and kind of grungy.
