Snap Fitness Berthoud

This is an amazing gym for our small town. Super clean, great view of the west, many options of machines, free weights and open 24/7. I like the payment options, monthly payments, prepay (additional months free) and contracts. There is a requirement to cancel by giving a written 30 day cancellation notice and that reminder I will not forget. Many years ago, I started out using the free week trial and have been a member since. I workout in my town and save my money by not traveling into Loveland or Longmont.

I joined Snap Fitness about three years ago and the experience has been great. I love the convenience of the location and the hours. The equipment is in good shape and they have everything I need to prepare for powerlifting meets. As matter of fact, I just won my first Powerlifting competition, and the people I speak with are shocked when I tell them I work out at Snap Fitness. Don't worry, this is not a meathead type of gym l, but it suits me well.

The trainers (Beth and Mason) at the facility are super kind and friendly. The gym and bathroom are always extremely clean. The machines all function properly and the gym is always adding new equipment. I love it!

I’ve been a member of this gym for over a year now. I wasn’t seeing the progress I wanted so I decided to meet with a trainer. Mason was awesome and was very flexible with times for training sessions. She was able to challenge me and teach me a lot of new workout techniques.

Great little gym. A little expensive but it's never crowded and the equipment is in good shape. Friendly staff and it doesn't have a nasty gym odor :D

Equipment: Lots of choices and mostly in good repair. Currently all works but that's not always the case.

Availability: When we go occasionally there is a wait for a piece of equipment but it's rare.

Community: The group that works out when we do we know almost everyone's name and my wife gets real chatty which she loves.

Price: High compared to some, I've not used another gym so I can't say if services are different. I'm happy with what we pay.

Temperature: In the summers it's rather hot in the mornings, just fine otherwise.

Recommend: If you live in town not much other choice. There is another gym I know nothing about.

It's what I'd call barely a gym and by that I mean it offers the minimum amount of equipment possible to qualify. It is so small that everything is just crammed in wherever possible and you can really feel that lack of space depending on what you are doing or how busy it is. Thus if you are looking for somewhere to do simple cardio, free weight, or machine assisted exercises you will find that here but in a limited respect. That works for many as you can tell from other reviews but not for all.

All in all, it works and is a good option for a town like Berthoud. As others have said, it's a little expensive for what you are getting but again there are limited options. If you have access to more options outside Berthoud, I'd recommend pursuing them.

There are issues that I feel warrant rating this gym lower than a 3 which is what I'd give it if these were not problems I've experienced. For one, the TVs are unregulated and you get subjected to whatever someone else has chosen prior to your arrival. Too often, this means Fox News is playing on multiple TVs. I submitted a complaint about this because Fox News is obviously not an unbiased or bipartisan news outlet and it's quite unfair to allow it to be played for hours a day. Having emailed my complaint, I expected a response at the very least but hoped for action. Unfortunately, I received neither and feel my complaint was ignored.

Next, the equipment is being upgraded but it's only because a special yearly assessment was introduced to pay for it. Even so, the equipment is often in disrepair and not replaced until it's on it's last leg. Even simple things like bands or ankle straps that are cheap take seemingly forever to be replaced. If a machine goes down, expect several weeks for it to be back up and running. My understanding of this is that the owner is "cheap" and always looking to spend as little money as possible. It's understandable that a business would need to mind their expenses but I dont think that's what this is. Rather, maximum profit is most important and you as a member of this gym will come second to that.

The wifi is broken most the time. They dont even have 90% of what a $40 a month gym should have. Maybe worth $10 a month.

Beware of this desperate company. I prepaid for a family 6 month plan. We used it during the winter & enjoyed the facility. However we got busy like everyone else in the summer and hadn't used it in months. Because i prepaid I forgot about it and just let my membership lapse. Here's the rub, I got a nasty call from one of the managers telling me I owed them $. I explained I was not on a month to month but prepaid. She said it didn't matter! I was to write them a letter canceling! THIS IS THE SCAM. I ASKED HOW THEY COULD CHARGE ME FOR SERVICES NEVER RENDERED.. She said you didn't write me a letter. I offered to buy another 6 month plan if she waived the malicious charges, she declined my offer. THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS FOR $76.00. I'm 47 years old and have never had a collection, WOW! EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS & KNOW WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE OWN & OPERATE THIS COMPANY. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS IS A TYPICAL SCAM RUN BY THESE TYPES OF BUSINESSES. I also will be contacting the better business bureau.

Wasn't bad until I started getting hidden fees I wasn't informed of. I'll drive the 30 min for a honest gym. They'll try to take The most money out of your wallet as possible
