My children go to this school. I do not think the people who are reviewing it have even been to Loveland. I am appalled that people would post about a school when they do not even know the facts and will believe anything. Privacy laws prevent the school from disclosing everything about the situation but the school did issue a statement with the truth that the student was throwing rocks. Also he was NOT suspended. He spent 2 hours in the principals office. The mother of the child has serious mental issues and has lied numerous times in the past. She has a police record that includes child abuse, setting fire to her own house to cash in on a new insurance policy and other felonies and misdemeanors. Who would you believe? My son is in second grade with the young man and says that he is a behavior problem all of the time and a bully. Get your facts straight and leave a great school alone.

My children go to Mary Blair. It is a wonderful school, with amazing teachers and staff. I agree with the review by Andy Kaufman that it appears most of the negative reviews on this site are from people who are completely unfamiliar with the school. New information has come out the media since these negative reviews were posted revealing there was "more to the story." I won't go into details, see Andy Kaufman's review.
Just had to add my voice - this is a great school - the low rating and negative reviews here are NOT an accurate representation.

I went to this school from Kindergarden to 4th grade and while I was there it was an amazing school. Yes it has its flaws but all schools do. Their way of teaching is easy and understandable. My cousin still goes there and she loves it. They have a great arts program and do let kids have an imagination. The whole gun and grenade stuff is touchy with all of the school shootings that have ever happened.

One of these comments are praising the Thompson School District. Coming from Andy Kaufman, who works for the THOMPSON SCHOOL DISTRICT. Well, that figures. I have been to loveland, and I for one, do not support this district at all. This kind of stuff between the parents and staff goes on all the time. This Thompson School District is never ever getting my children to attend those horrible schools. And yes, their staff is very insulting and disrespectful in many ways.

Are you kidding me, trying to keep a kid from having an imagination and acting out. Perfectly normal for a kid at that age to imaginary play. This school administration should be reprimanded by the school district at the very least and the parents and the kid should receive a public apology from the school district. This is the most ignorant thing I have seen since Obama was elected for the second time.

Are you kidding me suspending the second grader for PRETENDING to save the world. You need to be ashamed of yourselves. You need to think about the message that you are sending to these children in your care. I live in Texas and there is no way that I will ever vacation in your state if this is the way you treat your CHILDREN!!!!!!! Ever since God has been taken out of the schools they have gone down hill!!!! Don't you think its about time to turn this around and start teaching CHILDREN sound Values and Morales. I mean this country was founded on GOD !!!!! Come on America stand up and get this great country back on the road to greatness, the degradation of this country needs to STOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any school that suspends a child for pretending that he is fighting the "forces of evil" should be bulldozed and replaced with a fast food restaurant.
School administrators should have more common sense than to enforce a regulation that ridiculous. It is them who should be on leave without pay while they reflect on their lack of sense.

Seriously???? Really???? Say that again?????

This is a prime example of why this country is being ruined from the inside. The one thing that set our country apart for the last 100 years is our ingenuity, determination and most importantly the imagination of free thinkers to think outside the box. This is why kids these days can't problem solve. You take away creativity and they're stuck with the confines of being told what to do.

Way to put yourselves on the global stage for idiocy.

What a bunch of f'in morons. No wonder we can't have an intelligent conversation about problems in this country when you have teachers like this in our schools. They are the reason I always vote against teacher pay raises at school district meetings. Teachers for the most part these days are about politics - not teaching. Teachers, when you hear about the problems in this country and you hear folks say things like, "Wow, I can't believe how stupid people are these days", know that they're speaking about you.

What a bunch of braindead zombies. It is pathetic that they would suspend a second grade student for playing "pretend" during recess. I guess if he would have defeated the evil bad guys with photos of Obama that would have been acceptable. How about some common sense. again, you are a bunch of idiots.

What a sad, sad school. Suspending a child for having an imagination. The principal of this school is the real villain in this situation. Take you're kids to schools that foster common sense.

Suspended a 7 year old boy for acting like a 7 year old boy. He was playing at recess and threw a PRETEND grenade to save the world in a game he was playing and the school suspended him. Ridiculous.

This school hates the children with imagination, especially boys who are just out to "save the world"
