It makes me so sad to see all of these negative reviews about CVBH.
I have been to almost every single psychiatric hospital in Colorado, and Clear View is no question one of the best. There have only been two hospitals that I've gone to and actually felt that I got something out of it and Clear View is one of them.
If I were to ever need help again or if I had a loved one that needed help, I would take them to Clear View without thinking twice.
The last time I was there, I was able to skip the emergency department and take myself straight there and get the help I needed.
The staff at Clear View CARE.
The MHT's there are such loving and compassionate people. They could be getting paid the same amount elsewhere where they aren't potentially getting hit or having to restrain people- they work here because they want to help people. Paige, Brie, Dawn, and Jordan were a few of the MHT's that were really helpful to work with. I definitely felt that they treated me as less of a patient and more of a human. Their support and insight gave me so much hope.
The nurses are such caring people and really attend to every need you have in such a timely matter. Brooke & Brittaney both had so much consideration for all of the patients which was much appreciated.
The therapists are WONDERFUL. Lindsey took her time to help me and make sure I was ready to discharge. She kept close contact with my outpatient team and did everything in her power to help. Kara is also super wonderful and is such a great advocate for her patients.
The doctor for my first two stays was incredibly disrespectful, but I was appreciative that during my last stay I had a different doctor. I appreciated that CVBH listened to all of the patients about the first doctor and actually took productive measures to ensure that we wouldn't have to go through that again.
The rec therapists are also wonderful and it's a relief to be able to do things on a daily basis that helps the negativity quiet down for a bit.
The A&R therapists are amazing and Alex was super compassionate towards my situation and was super helpful during the admission process.

Clear View is an AMAZING hospital and I 100% recommend it.

I disagree with the negative comments here.....saved my life. I met some wonderful staff and patients and the therapy was great. I don't know why you others complain so much. It isn't supposed to be Disneyland.

The otherside was actually more helpful because there were less patients. Plus we were more at risk of doing something. I agree the other unit needs a change, but had it not been for clearview I'd be dead right now.

My wife self-admitted herself due to depression, and went into the 55+ unit which was very uncrowded. One previous hospitalization was 18 years ago and wasn't so voluntary that time. This time, she was discharged 3 billing days later, which was actually faster than we thought (but probably consistent with how fast she improved), somewhat negating the impression in other reports that they hold you longer than necessary (and we do have good insurance). When I took her to the ER, she was tired, no appetite, slow in movement, slurring words, and I feared days to being in real trouble if we didn't do something. She told me that going to the hospital was the last place she wanted to go (based on past experience), but she felt like she needed to go, so she went.

While no secured hospital like this can possibly be a great experience (the secured facility is a shock for sure), the staff, nurses, and therapists were kind and patient, and my wife really did recover quicker than I thought. I can't really identify any one thing that helped her, but the staff was really caring and kind. The rules do seem crazy at times, but are based on experience in the industry that lead to rules are are not just particular to this facility.

There are things we wish they would improve. Sunshine is a key ingredient in getting over depression, and the patients were inside almost all the time. We read that exercise is almost as good as medicine, and they got little. They gave out pathetic small quantities of generic cheap soap, deodorant, and toothpaste, so after a couple of days the patients really do smell. But, overall, it was as positive experience and outcome as I think you can expect. Other units with adolescents and younger adults will likely have their own unique challenges, but ours was good. Many have posted to not allow your loved ones to ever go here, but I dread to think if my wife hadn't. I might have even lost her. Thank goodness for help when we needed it.

Our experience was that the staff from the front desk to the food service staff was kind and compassionate. Being able to have an intake into the program without going through the emergency room was convenient and less traumatic than the usual intake process. One area that was somewhat misleading is that the staff person that called herself the therapist actually functioned in more of a case manager role. The title was confusing in that she was not meeting one on one with the patients as is usually the case with a therapist. The nursing staff was very good about calling with updates for medication changes.

This post is my most detailed followup review for 12 2018
I am adding this review out of respect for doctors and staff at Clearview. The service I have received currently for my wife has been outstanding and greatly improved. The staff have been very responsive to my wife's medical needs. Also, exceptionally responsive to me, I have gained an awareness and a great respect and appreciation of the daily challenges the doctors and staff are faced with each day. Thanks to the outstanding Dr. Baalun and the nurses on duty. The service was outstanding. I rate the service and staff as AAA to outstanding. The food could use a little improvement. Overall I am satisfied with the overall results and service.

I was at Clearview from February 2, 2018 to February 12, 2018 due to relapse to alcohol and a suicide attempt. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is battling a mental illness as most of the staff members are very professional and supportive of the patients. I was in unit 200 and actually made some friends there and felt the team, from the cook all the way up to the doctors, knew what they were doing and communicated their ideas and opinions very clearly. I only had one negative experience with a MHR who I knew was going to be uncooperative. I forget her name but she was probably between the ages of 20-24. She has dirty blond hair, slightly overweight, and spent most of her time messing around and making jokes with the other MHR's. I was feeling rather low on the Friday before I left so I tried to talk to her and all she had to say was to go watch the documentary on TV. Very cold and impersonal. If the administration can figure out who I'm talking about I think it would be in the hospital's best interest to fire her. Otherwise, my experience there was quite positive.

My stay here was very pleasant, helpful and supportive! Only ONE non important staff member was degrading, cold and made me depressed and anxious at the very beginning of entry. I feel I gained a life changing experience that I see hope in my future to help me manage my stress induced manic episodes! The other reviews about being COLD? Abso-fucin-lutly!!! 😂 Prepared to be cold and bring appropriate clothing in the winter! Thank you to everyone there that has given me hope! Food is amazing but the short amount of time you have to eat...I felt stressed about! That needs to be adjusted for sure! Johnny, Al, Abby and PJ were my favorites in Unit 300!!! 😂😂👍🏻👍🏻
