Comfort Inn & Suites Grinnell near I-80

Clean room, friendly helpful staff. The comments about the hail storm damage are purely cosmetic and the common areas and hallways looked spotless to me. Great stay overall. Front desk guy goes above and beyond. Also the picture on the below review was of salt during an actual blizzard🤦🏻😂💯 probably one of the better hotels in the area

My husband and I stayed 3 weeks ago and it was a WONDERFUL experience. We love locally and we will be back just for a retreat! Highly recommend the whirlpool suite! Breakfast was so good and everyone at the front desk was so helpful and sweet. Thank you!

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS STAY! NICE, CLEAN & WONDERFUL POOL & SPA TUB. BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT, LOTS OF CHOICES & STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONAL.. this was our best place to stay the last year... CANT SAY ENOUGH NICE ABOUT THIS PLACE!!

Don't ever lose the senior man that greeted me at check in!!! Smoothest and FRIENDLIEST check in ever.....and I frequent dozens of motels annually while at dog shows. This motel is a model for hospitality for other motels! Accommodations were great, quiet.....this was a very pleasant and welcome surprise!! I will stay here again AND go out of my way to find other Comfort Inns.

Front desk staff was really cool, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was also very good.

Very nice, clean hotel. Front desk staff and cleaning staff were all AMAZING!!!!! This was a work trip and the front desk made sure my co driver and myself were in rooms on the top floor, in the corner so we were away from the noise. Bed is very comfortable. Shower was nice and hot with a great shower head. I would stay here again anytime!

We came up here the night before I was having surgery at Unity Point Medical Center. Upon arrival, it was a great experience with Jackie at the front desk. We were having problems with our TV working and she came to our room and she didn't have any luck. She moved us to a different room and apologized up and down. It wasn't her fault. Great experience. Nice place. Needs a little TLC. We noticed that our wall creaked as the shower or tub on the floor above was being used. Made no noise otherwise.

Will keep this place in mind if we need a place to stay in Grinnell in the future. Jackie is great. Very nice lady

I can’t say enough about the staff at this Comfort Inn. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We stayed for two weeks after a house fire displaced my kids and I. Our family dog was also welcomed. Breakfast was my son’s favorite. Rooms were clean. Thank you.

This may not be a 5 star hotel but, the people that work here are second to none. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, as I travel for work and you'd be incredibly hard pressed to find better service and a more friendly staff. The ladies here go far above, above and beyond. They've accommodated me in every way possible and truthfully, what more can you ask for?? HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!

Shout out to Jackie at the front desk. She upgraded our room for free and brought us pillows and sheets without asking. Probably the best hotel employee I've had the pleasure of meeting.

From the moment I walked in the staff where great. The room was very clean with a wonderful smell. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was the best I have had at any hotel for awhile. A special shout out to Ritu and Jessica for working so hard and being so nice. I wish more hotels had employees like them.

Erica on night staff is AMAZING!!! Very professional and friendly. Very pet friendly hotel and rooms are top notch clean. Great breakfast layout in the morning and plenty of food for everyone, not just the first few people to show up. I would definitely come back here if I am ever again in Iowa.

I had to leave another hotel due to lack of a/c. Erica was able to find me a room with no notice. When I explained that the a/c wasn't working at the previous hotel, she entered the room to confirm that the a/c was working in the room I would get. She even turned it down as low as it would go to help make it cooler when I arrived.

Excellent, clean, spacious, modern rooms at an excellent price! Great little historical, clean downtown area worth strolling through. We ate dinner at the nice pizza/ Italian restaurant downtown..highly reccomend. This was a very nice stop on our cross country post quarantine trip!

Very comfortable bed. Easy to get around. We were surprised at the size of our space. Huge bedroom with whirlpool tub and regular tib,tub, a huge living space area. (By the way, this suite would make a great family space. There is the option to get a second bedroom/bathroom added. Both rooms open to the living area, which has its own door to the hallway!)

The only ding? Slow internet.

Fantastic!!!! We were traveling through Demoine Iowa, and we were unable to find a Hotel vacancy due to a fair and some races being in town. As we drove on, I searched Hotels ahead of us. I called the Comfort Inn, in Grinnelle. I lucked out, and they had ONE room left with a King size bed, and a pull-out sofa. It was perfect for the five of us. It was the most reasonable price we had paid for lodging during our entire trip. At the front desk was a young gentleman, who we found to be very friendly, professional and efficient. He wanted us to be sure and let him know if there was any problems with the room or if we had any needs. But it was perfect. The shower this morning was wonderful, with nice fluffy big towels! And to top it all off, breakfast was terrific. We went down at 8:25, and it appeared that we were too late as the bacon and eggs were all gone. I thought, "our bad, we should have been here sooner.". There was still cereal, hard-boiled eggs, toast, waffles etc. But then Ritu came through the door with a fresh, hot batch of scrambled eggs! And then she followed it up with a pan of fresh bacon. After that Ritu and Jesssica made trip after trip, keeping the pans full right up until 9:00 a.m. They did not put breakfast away until they had asked the stragglers, if we needed anything else. Overall, our family was very pleased with our stay. This a a wonderful Comfort Inn! Thank you all for making it a great experience. Our day is off to a great start, thanks to you!

We stayed here for the whole weekend everyone was so nice and friendly rooms were nice and clean lots of big towels staff was great especially Ritu they had a huge great breakfast and the beds were so comfy we had a great stay thanks to all of you!!!!

Great customer service. The hotel rooms are very well updated and comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your comfortable. The free buffet breakfast is very good; and it includes coffee. We love this hotel and will come back!

Everyone is very welcoming and the beds are by far my favorite to sleep in. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a spot to stay for the night. Also pet friendly!
