Glenwood Recreational Park

Peaceful,safe and clean.plenty of paths to explore and wild animals to see.great for family pets too...sure gonna miss it everyday

Such a great park with allot of picnic spots and park equipment for the kids, Geocaching, fishing, paddle boats, put put golf, basketball and tennis courts. Gazebo to use for events.

We traveled to Glenwood for a middle school basketball game and decided we should investigate the area for hiking opportunities. Glenwood has a beautiful recreational park 1.7 miles from the school. We hiked 3 miles around this gorgeous lake. Half of the hike was paved and the other half was a dirt path. It was well maintained and very easy walking. It is located on Route 20 between Princeton and Bluewell. You can fish, boat, hike, mountain bike, disk golf and great playgrounds. Gasoline engines are not allowed but we are excited to return and kayak the entire lake. Adapting to a world that is full of fear, this area gave us freedom to run around in a safe space away from the paranoia. Thank you for such a beautiful place to wander in the woods to regain the peacefulness that our minds require to be healthy. We can’t wait to return with our kayaks. The old cabin standing by the lake was reportedly the first courthouse of Mercer County. It is absolutely breath taking. On the back side of the lake is the campground entirely made of lags from the area built for a 4-H camp. West Virginia is full of places to discover and enjoy you just have to be an adventurous spirit.

I truly love this beautiful park. The trails are many.... there are so many beautiful things in nature and they're all here. I recommend this place to everyone! Dog friendly but pick up the poop, please!!

This park is so beautiful and there are so many places to walk. I had a great time with my boyfriend and I saw so many birds. I've enjoyed my visit.

I think Glenwood recreational Park is one of the best small parks around, it has good hiking trails for getting the exercise and that you need, the lake is just absolutely beautiful, it is great for birdwatching and wildlife is so plentiful. Great picnic shelters, it’s just a awesome all around park!!!

A beautiful place. Hiking trails, mini-golf, paddle boats, disc golf, picnicking, and fishing were some of the things I saw as I walked around. Very clean and pleasant.

My grand daughters first fishing trip. She had a blast so did I. She caught bluegills and yellow perch. Awesome day for us both.

We went to ride mountain bikes on the trail around the lake. We had a great time.

The hills werent awful, we did push a few times.

If you go around the bridge side you'll come out on top of the hill at the spillway. Once you come down the hill from spillway, stay next to the lake to enter the trail on around.

My oldest son went ahead of us and he missed it and took the graveled service road. That road will get you back to the parking lot, but not quite as fun as the trail.

We were finally packed up and leaving when we took this picture of the moon and its reflection on the water. We thanked God for such a beautiful sight!

It is a beautiful place. We take our recycling there. The rruck is there two Thursdays a month.

Very nice park with a nice lake and cabin. Had some really great pictures for my daughter's senior prom.

Beautiful area but the boardwalk seems unsafe. There is a nice walkway by the lake though.

Great park to go for a short hike. A trail circles the lake and is a relatively easy hike with occasional wildlife views.

Escape the world here. But you do have to leave. Great for runners and walkers

Great for family fun. The fishing is ok. They need to have it stocked every now and then though. Id recommend that they stock trout if they would want to boost their fishing program. They have many shelters with grills if you and your family wanna cookout and enjoy the day. Also they have a trail that goes around the park. Also have a few Geocaches on the property to. Download the Geocache app on your smartphone. It's fun.

Great place to take your kids, but I believe it's been fished to death

They have a neat little playground with paddle boats and miniature golf.

Another park to go to located both near Princeton and Bluefield. It is quite a big park and has paved roads and a trail by the water. Big flat area with less trees as compared to some other parks in the area.
