Don's Seafood & Chicken

Can't say enough good things about this place. Not only is the food great (quality, taste, and portion sizes), but you cannot beat the price ***A little over 20 bucks for a 14 piece bone in dinner!?!?* 🥰*** After chatting with them, I found out that keeping prices reasonable was extremely important. They have had increases in their food costs and refuse to raise the prices if they don't have to. These folks really care about their customers. Think that's honestly the most important factor in who I choose to spend my money with. They have the best customer service. Hands down. Didn't take long at all before she remembered my voice and knew our entire order. Heard the rest of their menu is just as good as the chicken, but we haven't been able to find out. Can't get enough of their fried chicken. Looking forward to trying everything else!.... Someday.

This is a very small establishment so I would assume a large portion of their business is carryout which is what we did on this visit. I called in our order the gentleman who answered and took my order was very friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 half chicken meals (which came with a choice of potato and salad) & onion rings. We were told our order would take 30-35 minutes and that is what it took. Our food was very good everything was hot and fresh even though we took it to go. The onionrings were not the frozen type you get at most places they were hand dipped and fried to a perfect doneness and so was the chicken.
Don't let the outside of the building influence you because the inside is clean and comfortable. They only have a few tables so it is not set up for a huge group. I should also point out tbey do not take credit cards.

Best tasting and best price in town. This place is a very old building that has pumped out millions of pounds of awesome food over many years.

I go to dons seafood for the friendly atmosphere, the food is excellent. If you're looking for great food at a great price, I highly recommend eating here.

Loved the BPT. Wish I got everyone's name there, all the staff was awesome. We stayed way longer than it took to eat and jawed with the girls and Don. Very reasonable priced food, breading on the BPT was great. Believe me if you get the big BPT, you will not need any other food. It's monstrous.

Best pork tenderloin EVER. Great for chicken and other comfort food. Macaroni salad is excellent too. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

After years of going to Candlelight I stopped 2 months ago because I got tired off overcooked chicken 50% of the time at the takeout in Sterling. Tonight I tried Don's Sea Food and Chicken and it was very good at a great price. Thumbs-up I'm going back.

Great food and large portions. Not a good place for a large group. The place is small. Three picture is the seafood platter.

Probably both sides! And the macaroni salad is great too. I've liked everything I've ever ordered but I like the fried chicken 🍗 🐔 the most!

The seafood was outstanding. Very generous portions and the Pollack on the seafood platter, was outstanding.

We have never had a bad meal or dining experience at Don's. Really enjoyed our visit today, onion rings are homemade and fried just right, no onion pull out when biting into them. Clams, steak fries and Cole slaw have been hubby's go to. I have been enjoying the bacon cheese burger and tater tots last 2 visits.

Love this place. Incredible food, incredible staff. I came here all the time when I was pregnant and hadn't been back for about a year and a half. The owner still remembered us! One of the best restaurants in the area

Good food and great prices. Very friendly. Real small place though but they don't want to go bigger. Rated one of the best tenderloins. Hand pounded, but you have to call a day ahead to get one.

Best chicken in the sauk valley.. would recommend getting this over the other places.

My husband and I travel all over the country for almost 5 yrs now, chicken tenders are our go to fast meal. When visiting family in this area we got to experience Don's chicken strips and were not disappointed one bit! Actually we enjoyed the food so much we ordered and even larger amount of chicken strip just a couple days later. The strips are tender and juicy 😋 you'd still be able to eat them just fine without teeth lol so i recommend these chicken strip for all ages!! Check it out friends, I promise you'll dig it! P.S. DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER friends because you'll truly regret it this time!!

I'm 67 years old and I guarantee you Keith has the best giant tenderloin from here to California best onion rings best catfish best chicken strips and you won't believe the burrito until you've had one !!! All hand-dipped cooked fresh to order ! Worth the trip from anywhere... call ahead the giant tenderloins go fast...
