Sophie's Cafe

Good coffee, simple but good breakfast and lunch options plus a variety of iced drinks (and boba) to keep everyone happy. They have a mobile app (Joe) for advance orders or curbside delivery to your vehicle out in the parking lot. Nice place.

I had a bit of a mishap after picking up my order. When I got to work I dumped all 3 of the drinks I had purchased all over my front seat. I went back to Sophie's, they remade my order, and when they found out what happen they wouldn't let me pay for my second order. Great customer service, food and drinks are great, and always have service with a smile. I believe in supporting the small town businesses 🥰

SUCH A CUTE AND LOVELY PLACE WITH A FAMILY VIBE. MADE ME FEEL LIKE BEING HOME.

This review is based solely on my own experience and personal opinion.

I went to Sophie's Cafe on a cold Monday evening, 1/13/21, and it was my very first time here.
Sterling is a small town in Illinois and while driving there you do not really have high expectations, but then you get there and it's a vibrant city with many surprises and one of them is SOPHIE'S CAFE. Yes, a very nice surprise indeed, with a unique style and attention to details.

FOOD/BEVERAGES: They offer a big selection of food and beverage, especially coffee based drinks. I had a Muffin and a Cappuccino. My Muffin was very nice, great flavor and fresh ingredients. My Cappuccino was absolutely well made.... right Coffee/milk balance that is not easy to achieve. I enjoyed both my Muffin and my Cappuccino alot.
They Offer a great selection of coffee product for sale, roasted coffee beans, ground coffee and other locally sourced products.

STAFF: all the staff were young girls and one young boy. they were all super nice and friendly. They would talk to you with a big smile on their face and a great attitude. They were helpful and have sense of humor.

CLEANLINESS: The place was very clean and neat, and the restrooms were very clean too. Table and chairs were cleaned right after each guest. great policy.

PLACE: cute little place with a family vibe and a sense of home.... weird feeling, maybe it's the fireplace?!?!
I love the way they arranged tables and chairs, and I do love the way it is decorated. a oddly pleasant mix of designs and styles who made me feel like I was sitting in my own living room, surrounded by friends. just an amazing feeling. Plenty of tables and chairs to reunite with your friends and family and a few more comfy spots with armchairs and sofas.
The Bar area, where they make/prepare your order is a little island of modernism in a sea of old-like style. Something I had never seen before, sooooo unique and interesting.

SLOT MACHINE ROOM: They do have a slot machine room but I did not get in there as I do not support gambling. So, I wont review that specific section of Sophie's Café.

LOCATION: conveniently located right next to stores and the only Wal-Mart in town. You can do your grocery and then go and get some deserved relax.

PRICES: not expensive.

CONCLUSIONS: I liked it alot and I will definitely go back while in Sterling.

Absolutely wonderful, my favorite place to get coffee!! My daughter always gets a chocolate milk and the staff went out of the way to make a "Kid's Latte", complete with whip and sprinkles, so she could have something that look like mommy's. The look on her face when she got it was priceless!

I have gone here many times and really love the food and coffee ☕. My daughter likes it as well and it is now a place we go to sit and talk and have a snack or something. Very nice inside and all the staff has been awesome and are always in a great mood.

To start, this is my first time in the town of Sterling IL. And I must say that Sophie's Cafe is absolutely amazing. My visit was just as pleasant as the food and fresh Refreshing drinks,freshly made ciabatta bread, more meat on that sandwich than I would have imagined, see because back home in California, you would have paid so much extra. The atmosphere here was so comfortable, I will most definitely be back.

Sophie’s is top notch quality food, drinks, and service! They saved me in a pinch recently too - I needed to go carafes of coffee for a conference, I actually went across the street first to the corporate coffee chain, thinking they’d be able to fill my large request easier, but was actually told no by them! Luckily, I stopped by Sophie’s after, who was more than happy to provide me with boxes of coffee and brewed some fresh! Continuously impressed with their offerings and was blown away by her kindness and patience with me that morning.

Their Blast Drinks are delicious!!! Love the Atmosphere and ability to just unwind and enjoy some time with friends and family!

Adorable little upscale style Cafe at small Town prices. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Just what this town needed.

Employees here have always treated me well and go above and beyond with their timely service. Yesterday I spilled a drink as it was handed to me and the staff made me feel better about the embarrassing interaction and had my drink remade in a matter of a moment! Great local stop for some energy and maybe a quick bite

Sophie’s has amazing and delicious food! The drinks are just as great! The cinnamon rolls are absolutely to die for, get one… you won’t regret it. I also tried a pesto chicken sandwich (can’t remember the name of it) another time and they hit it out of the park again with size, taste and getting everything made and to me in a timely manner. I don’t make it to Sterling as much but when I go I definitely make this one of my places to stop!

It's our go to place. Affordable and fast. We have daddy daughter dates there all the time. We absolutely love the Mac and cheese. Daughter loves looking for Waldo! I've never had a bad drink or meal. So glad a second location opened up!

Such a cute place!! Love the atmosphere, the staff is always super sweet and for the quality of the food and drinks there prices are pretty good as well. I went to the rock falls location for the first time on Sunday and got a salad, it was the most delicious looking sald I've ever had. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend this place 😊😊

So far I’ve tried the Colombian blend and the Salted Caramel. Both were absolutely fantastic. I’ve been searching for a new brand to enjoy at home and I’ve definitely found it. Great prices for a great product and they’ll deliver it right to my door! I can’t wait for the cafe to open. I’m looking forward to discovering all that Sophie’s will have to offer!

Ordered a cupcake, pesto chicken sandwich and iced matcha latte. I hardly order iced matcha lattes from Starbucks because they just don’t taste that great. Well, let me tell you this place is spot on which how to mix it. The chicken sandwich was so yummy and tender. I wish I didn’t live 1hr away because this would become my regular place.

I recently snagged a bag of the Highlander Grogg beans from Sophie's. Since hearing of a new cafe opening I've been patiently waiting to see what was going to be offered. I opened the bag and was immediately slapped in the face with an evenly balanced aroma of butterscotch, liquor and caramel. As the bag sat for a moment the notes began to intertwine and create a pleasant scent that lit up my kitchen. Again, this was just from opening the bag. The beans are excellent quality, ground perfectly to my preferred coarseness. As the pot began brewing my house filled with the scent and became an aromatic heaven. At the first sip it was obvious it needed no additives other than maybe your preferred sweetener. The flavor is rich and creamy, without overpowering the coffee flavor. My next pot will be made with french press and I assume it will be even better.

TL;DR excellent quality, rich creamy flavor. No milk or creamers needed. Notes of caramel, liquor and butterscotch.

I haven’t been here in months but my husband and I still talk about how much we love it 🥰 Some of our best coffee dates were here.

Very delicious lattes! Their menu has a plethora of coffee, tea, espresso, and iced beverages plus yummy baked goods and sandwiches! You can order through the Joe app and collect points & coupons. They have curbside pickup that is super convenient!

Sophie's offers the ability to purchase the bags of coffee to make in the privacy of your own home. I've never seen such wonderfully packed coffee. These bags come as a zip lock resealable bag to maintain that maximum freshness, not the roll over bread tie closer like all the other coffee brands. Sophie's coffee is always of prime potency and never bland or or stale as it doesn't sit around in a warehouse or truck or store shelves for weeks at a time. It is in customer position in a short number of days or less after leaving the roaster. You can smell the beans before even opening the bag through the small fragrance portal, and will fill your home with fresh coffee scent as soon as you open the bag. I can not wait for the store to be open to have a tasty snack with cup of coffee.
