People's Cafe

We had a nice breakfast experience at People's Cafe. You could tell this is a very popular place in Cambridge as locals packed the place while we were there. Had side orders of toast, ham and cheesy hash browns with coffee which satisfied my appetite. My guest had an omelette with hash browns which she said was tasty and the portion was almost too large to eat. Service from our waitress was fantastic and kept the coffee topped off while there. A little tough finding a parking spot but eventually drove around the block and found one opened up right in front of the building. They have both on street parking along with a small private lot in the back with access to the restaurant. If you are in the Cambridge area and looking for a real homestyle breakfast or lunch I highly recommend stopping by People's Cafe.

Really tasty and great value. If you have ever been in a small town diner, this is it. My coffee was topped off a lot and the portions delightfully filling. My meal was exactly as ordered. Very efficient staff. It is like taking a walk back in time. The only thing Id change is upgrading silverware.

First time at People’s Cafe, it was amazing! The Everything Omelette, hash browns and cranberry wild rice toast were so yummy. The server was attentive and kept our coffee cups full!

This place was EXCELLENT! Our server, the food, everything was top notch. My family and I were in Cambridge all day for my sons basketball tournament. We decided to grab breakfast with our two hour window between games. The eggs benidict was to die for!!! I hope the owner appreciates the servers and cooks because they are amazing. ❤ we may have to make the hour drive to Cambridge JUST for people’s cafe.

Lots of food for the price. Excellent quality for the price. Sausage and bacon tastes homemade (idk if it is) but tastes like exactly what you’d get from a good butcher. Quick service despite always being packed. Not the prettiest surroundings, but feels like grandmas kitchen, and the no frills atmosphere means no yuppies to complain about.

Best lutefisk dinner that I have ever had (sorry Grandmas Herland & Miles but you would have loved it too)…Lutefisk, boiled potatoes, rutabaga, clarified butter, white gravy, coleslaw (mayo based), Lefse, julekaga, butter, cranberry orange relish. Then went on to banana crème pie- nice real banana chunks, homemade (not package) pudding base, pressed but not full crumble crust. Beautiful texture, too cold and could have used more vanilla flavor in the fresh cream whip. Coffee was a disappointment, but could suffer it. Restaurant itself was crowded with lots of second generation or so Scandinavians enjoying the Monday lutefisk dinner special. Restaurant was a bit unkept as a result but understandable.

Went for breakfast on my birthday yesterday! Food was really good! The kids enjoyed it also! Waitress was very nice and made sure we were happy! I’d definitely recommend this place to anybody!

I could eat here every day! This place is absolutely delicious! My favorite is their mexican omelet with hashbrowns! And lets not forget their giant mouth-watering cinnamon rolls! Not only is their food always amazing but their staff is extremely friendly! They make you feel at home. I couldnt recommend this place more!

We discovered the cafe that is well know by the locals as a favorite. The place was clean, people were socially distant. Morgan provided us with excellent helpful and friendly service! They had an All Up Can Eat Fish Fry on Friday. They serve breakfast all day and had good size portions of food. All three of us gave it a 5 star rating on our food choices! The rest room was clean. We will be back! The chili was homemade and very good! Located in downtown Cambridge, Minnesota. Worth the drive. Family Friendly.

Very well established restaurant. Has existed for years, and well known around the area. The kind of place you step back in time to when family and friends were important.

Old fashioned cafe/restaurant. It's a bit noisy but that's because they're busy! The blueberry pancakes were DELICIOUS 😋!! And the sausage patties were very tasty. I only ever order 1 pancake because it's literally the size of the dinner plate. I was only able to eat about 1/3 of it while sitting there. I brought the rest home and I had enough left over for 2 more meals! THEY ARE HUGE AND DELICIOUS! I've had other items off the menu in recent years and also many years ago. The food here is just like good ol' fashioned homecookin and VERY reasonably priced!!! Highly recommended!!!

been here many times. Food is always delicious. Pancakes and hash browns are my two favorites. Wife thought the Mexican omelette was delicious. Have not had a bad meal and always walkout full wait staff is always very attentive

Very nice diner with a small town atmosphere . Wait staff were always nearby without hovering over us. We were there for lunch. The french fries were delicious and the lemonade was excellent! Next time we'll try breakfast. Menu has many good choices

Great hometown restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is great and a great value. You certainly get your monies worth.

First time visiter, the cafe was clean, the staff was friendly and the portions were plentiful.
I ordered the meat lovers omelet and was surprised to see all the meat in it. Real big chunks and flavorful. We will be back. A++++

Best breakfast anywhere. We especially love the pancakes and French toast. Lunch is great too. I usually get the hot beef, but have had great chicken strips there as well as some of the seasonal specials. Prices are VERY reasonable bordering on cheap. Crazy you can get food this good for this kind of money.

We’re from out of town and would definitely come back to this place. The food and service was great. Beware, the buttermilk pancakes are YUGE!
