Magic Castle Hotel

This hotel is amazing for family vacations! The kids loved the pool, the unlimited popsicles, soft serve ice cream, snacks, and soda. The magician had them bewildered. The rooms are spacious and clean. They're perfect if you are staying for a while and want to utilize a full kitchen. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The 5 minute walk to Hollywood & Highland (and the train to so many other places) is extremely convenient. Plus, it was awesome to get a reservation at the exclusive Magic Castle Club. And best of all, it's budget friendly. 😊

Excellent accommodation . Our family were greeted by Darren with champagne on arrival who along with all the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful in any way possible including any requests throughout our stay (including late check out)
The location was excellent and surprisingly quiet being only a short walk to Hollywood Boulevard (Walk of Fame)
Stayed in a one bedroom with 2 beds also with a pull out sofa in the spacious living room giving our family much needed extra space .
Our family also loved the free laundry service.
Snacks and drinks were not only free but convenient as we would be downstairs at the drink machine all hours of the day and night or the ice cream machine or off to reception for the coffee machine and snacks 24/7
Breakfast was pretty good and had everything we needed to eat and drink
Great pool/seating area with a relaxed atmosphere!
Hope to be back one day!!!

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay fantastic. It was lovely to stay at a place where you weren’t just a number. The room we had was pretty basic, if you want to stay here it is definitely for the service and not a fancy hotel room. We enjoyed our stay and would say the hotel is more for families with all the free treats you can have by the pool or in your room.

My family stayed, yet again, at the Magic Castle Hotel at the end of July for 5 nights. The staff were fantastic and they treat my son, who is disabled, like a king. We have stayed at most of the hotels in the Hollywood area but we only stay at the Magic Castle hotel now. I don't think that our son would like to stay anywhere else.

We stayed there this past week and the place was amazing. The staff made us feel welcome! I have traveled all over the USA and have stayed in some expensive places and some side of the road places and have never experienced such an amazing staff! The location was perfectly located to EVERYTHING! My kids enjoyed the service and the way the staff treated them. We are already planning our next visit to LA and there is no other place we would consider staying other than Magic Castle Hotel. This place delivered on all levels!!!!!!

Fantastic experience. Rooms are amazing and verumy large and comfortable. Outdoor patio is included. Staff is amazing and very courteous and friendly.
The castle is quite amazing. Shows were fabulous!
Dinner was really spectacular and service was awesome.
You must come here and experience this place. Better than Disneyland.

Our first hotel in LA and we were blown away by the service. We are a family of four with a 6 year old and 3 year old and from the moment we set foot into the lobby nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Kids loved the free snacks and drinks. The rooms are a little old school but no problem with that at all, are they made up for it with the large size, everything worked and was clean.
Absolutely will stay again and absolutely would recommend.

Update: Darren was so helpful and kind in resolving this issue. He went above and beyond, and even told me the bed in question has been replaced. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay at the Magic Castle Hotel, because they really care! Thank you again Darren, and all the staff!

My fiancé and I live in LA but did a little stay-cation so that we could go to the Magic Castle. The hotel is of course old, as everyone says, but very charming. And the staff are so sweet and wonderful! Especially Nick at the front desk, who snuck a gift with a personalized note into our room. Unfortunately, we had to check out at 1 AM because the bed in our room was not fit for human sleep. This mattress has been through five major wars, two Darren’s on Bewitched, three Star Wars Trilogies, and two Bush administrations. This mattress is overdue for retirement. When you lay down on it, the part under your back sinks down and your legs shoot up at a 45-degree angle. We are lucky that we could go home to our own bed, but I cannot imagine coming from out of town, booking this hotel, and having to try to sleep on this bed. When we went down to checkout, it was kind of a bummer that we weren’t at least offered another room, a partial refund, or anything to make up for the situation. That would’ve been nice, but we still appreciate the staff and the positive things about our experience, excluding the bed. To the owners - please replace the bed in room 209.

Absolute best hotel customer service experience. I was greeted with a glass of champagne when I arrived to check in. Every single Team Member was looking out for our comfort and joy while there. Seriously, it is this Teamwork that makes this hotel flow in such an effective manner. Rooms are dated but we love the old school feel of the space and it works. They keep it very clean and that is so important to us! Off street and garage parking. Complimentary laundry service, popsicle hotline, pool open 24/7, full size snacks available 24/7, poolside movies each evening, self-serve ice cream, guest puzzle table, soda, coffee & cappuccino makers available 24/7. Everyone is so helpful and kind. Two blocks to Hollywood Walk of Fame. Our second day we chose to stay at the hotel and just relax while enjoying the cool amenities. We were in #205, a 1 bedroom with bathroom, living/dining area, kitchen and balcony overlooking the pool with table and chairs. Loved sitting out there with a book. The hotel was very clean, family friendly, and very accommodating. The staff really made the experience amazing. Kudos to Kevin at the front desk for going the extra mile for guests and setting the time for an incredible experience. He set the tone for the level of quality and service that was provided the entire stay and is a stand out asset to the organization.

Service was impeccable - this is the reason to stay here. Location great. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Pool was fine, unfortunately it was too cold outside to go swimming - I chickens out after getting up to my knees.

Things I'd change: pull-out soda bed was unsleepable, so 1 guest slept on sofa itself (luckily she was comfy there), shower head was ancient and produced such a weak stream it was difficult to wash soap out of our hair, would love to see a keurig in the room (even though there is coffee downstairs, first thing in the AM I dint feel like putting on enough clothes to be seen in public).

Our hotel stay was wonderful. We were visiting from NJ and heading Universal. Not the newest hotel but the experience and amenities were excellent. Heated pool, big rooms to accommodate a larger family, unlimited snacks, continental breakfast. The staff went above and beyond. Our kids loved the popsicle hotline. Excellent. We highly recommend.

This hotel is OLD. You can tell driving by and walking in.

That being said, the rooms are still nice and clean, the unlimited free snacks and drinks are fantastic, and room fees are reasonable.

Not to mention, a room can get you free admission to the Magic Castle next door, which is such an amazing experience in itself.

We tried booking to get the free 200$ dining credit, but you have to book a special room in order to get it.

We booked and called over the phone to make sure if we did it correctly, and we were told that we were fine and had nothing to worry about. Sadly, when we arrived, we were told we couldn't get the credit, but at least they comped our parking. Definitely needs to be a bit clearer and have better confirmation on their part for this promotion, but it was still a pleasant experience

Thank goodness for the Magic Castle hotel! They saved us from a truly terrible stay at the Hollywood Hills Hotel just above their property!

They got us in last minute and were so helpful and kind - carrying our luggage, making sure we were comfortable, and doing it all last minute!

I have stayed here many times and it's such a lovely place that truly cares about their guests. I cannot recommend it more!

Amazing service. Friendly staff. Generous amenities all included in reasonable rates. Huge 1 bedroom apartments, especially for the price. Excellent location for Hollywood Boulevard and Universal Studios.

All the reviews are true, this place is really great for families. It is actually a really interesting concept - the hotel building itself is not super modern and could probably do with a renovation. But the rooms are big, the location is great, and most noticeably the service is spectacular. Free breakfast, snacks, ice cream, soft drinks and laundry probably do not cost the management that much, but they engender so much goodwill. Once you visit, you will be mystified why other hotels don't adopt the same approach.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Magic Castle Hotel! The hotel itself is an older building. It shows. Old doesn't have to be bad though. If you are expecting everything to look immaculate and perfect, this may not be the place for you but if you want a fabulous experience and to feel like you are special, this is the PERFECT hotel for you. We loved every minute of it. They welcomed us with cider and champagne. We don't drink alcohol so they gave adults champagne like the kids. There was never an employee that treated us like a burden. They must hire the best, happiest people because that is all we encountered.
The room was an apartment room with a kitchen, couch bed, dining area, bedroom, and bathroom. They had added an extra rollaway bed without us even asking which was nice. Our room had a balcony where we spent a lot of time. It faced the courtyard and pool. The whole place felt like a cozy neighborhood.
The kids spent a lot of time in the heated pool in February. They loved it and there were even toys to use. They had towels out at the pool and music playing after 10. The pool is open 24 hours, you just have to be quiet after 9. They have unlimited free soft drinks all day(Freestyle machine), and soft serve ice cream after 10. There are even cones at the machine.
There is a list of snacks they will provide at no cost if you go ask for them at the front desk. There are games to borrow as well which we did a couple times.
The Popsicle hotline was a favorite with the kids. While they were out swimming they could pick up the red phone by the pool and request a Popsicle. The super employees(they must have been superheroes in disguise) would bring a platter with different flavors for them to choose from.
This hotel was a magical experience in itself and my family is ready to go back. We dedicated most of one day to just hanging out there. It is walkable distance to the Grauman theater and walk of stars. We walked it. They gave us a map at the front.
Breakfast is a basic continental breakfast with cereals, milk, fruit, yogurt, some delicious pastries, toast, and maybe a few other things. The espresso machine has hot chocolate! Perfect for cold mornings or nights.
The biggest negative about the hotel is that the parking lot under the building is small. The spaces are tight so it is difficult to pull in and out. It was nice having a gated lot though. I felt like my car was a little safer than out in the open.
We definitely recommend the Magic Castle Hotel! The employees and perks created a magical stay for our family. We hope to come back again some day.

Friendliness and efficiency seem to be all the staff care about. The location is perfect and if it's not the newest hotel then everything else makes up for it. Highly recommend
