Astor Shipwreck Park is a great place to see some of nature’s best. The shoreline is beautiful. The stream, the rocks, just everything is amazing. If you are in the U.P. you owe it to yourself to stop by and see how nice everything is. We highly recommend this park. You can typically spot an American Bald Eagle here.

Nice small park right on Lake Superior with explanations of a famous shipwreck. There are nice beaches to walk and lots of rocks for rock hounds. Toilets on site.

Wonderful stop and a great place to catch a picture of the Copper Harbor lighthouse, as it's privately owned. Walk along side the parking lot for a view of Fannie Hooe Creek falls; very small but always idyllic.

Beautiful beach! We were there during trail fest and it was very busy but you still have tons of space. Dog got to plop around in the water and we had lunch.

Beautiful harbor and so interesting. Makes you appreciate the hardships endured back in the day.

A quick stop to see the light house and read about the shipwreck. There is a path to the left and if you take it down to the beach and follow around the bend you will find a cute little waterfall that is nit advertised at all, worth a look! Very close to Fort Wilkins State Park and the Beginning of US41. Lots to see and do in the area.

We visited to get a look at the Copper Harbor Lighthouse, since the road to it was closed for the season. But ended up enjoying the history of the shipwreck, and afterwards we walked over to the Fort Wilkin's historical site.

You can see the spot where the ship wrecked but there is nothing left. It's just a really nice spot to get pictures, and read about it. You can go on the lookout or on the beach.

Beautiful little park. Lots of information plaques, and very clean. Bathroom is an outhouse, but it does have one! You can see the lighthouse from here and a cute little waterfall.

Scenic bay. Can hear freighters if they are in the same area.

On a sunny summer day it's hard to imagine that a ship once crashed upon the rocks here. But Lake Superior is fierce. If you come to Copper Harbor don't miss the interpretive signs at this Park. One sign shows a photo of the coffee with an overlay of what the wreck would have liked like. It's a great beach to walk, too with a good parking lot and vault toilet. It's right along Fannie Hooe Creek and across the road from Fort Wilkins.

Very pretty park along Lake Superior shore next to Fanny Hooe Creek. Great view of Copper Harbor Lighthouse and interesting information regarding sinking of the ASTOR. Lovely place to stop.
