We had the Enchiladas Verdes and Enmoladas. They were so delicious! They are definitely on a spicier end. 9/10! Cafe de olla was also delicious great for a day that started out in the low 50’s!

Came in close to closing time and had to find a waitress but very friendly and provided good suggestions. Green enchilada's were the best I've ever had. Bright lime, spicy but doesn't linger, Chicken perfectly seasoned and moist, fresh avocado and queso fresco. We'll be back to try breakfast.

I recently enjoyed an extraordinary dining experience at METZTLI Traditional Mexican Cuisine.

Excellent place to eat Mexican food. They way to cook is very close to real homemade Mexican food. Just heads up, the salsas are spicy. Price is fair, and the dishes are well served and filled. It would be nice if they could have free glass of water and not pay for a bottle of water considering their level of spicy food.
I love how they turn out the place inside.
Really really worth it, you won't be disappointed.

The service was fantastic! Our server was very friendly and helpful. He happily gave detailed explanations of any dish. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. The portions are generous too. And, they were happy to make my wife and my dishes dairy free. We will be back!

For me, this is a special place. I thought I picked a (one of many in Madison) random, well-rated Mexican restaurant to grab lunch. As soon as I walked in I could tell it was something much more. The fun and classy atmosphere was an unexpected joy. The service was prompt and professional. The food was deliberate and had a unique, home-cooked "gourmet" style. There was craft to each of the items we tried (pico/chips, pambazo, quesadilla and one other dish I can't recall the name). I can't wait to go back and try more of this menu!

Excellent traditional Mexican food. Good flavor, fresh ingredients. We’ve liked the tlacoyo and the tacos. With more publicity and a sign outside I think the restaurant would fill up with people that enjoy tasty food.

Appreciated that the cuisine is unique from other Madison Mexican restaurants. Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Delicious and generous portion sizes. More authentic spice levels than others. Highly recommend it!

Amazing tacos! Chorizo is full of flavor. Salsas taste really fresh. Prices are super reasonable. Can't recommend this place enough!

We had lunch at METZTLI this afternoon and it was wonderful. Big flavors and great service. I had 3 tacos, and I loved each as much as the last: the pastor, carnitas, and barbacoa were all excellent. I’ll be back for more!

Delicious food and coffee! I was surprised by the great value and portions when the enmoladas hit my table. It all felt like money/time well spent, and I left satisfied with my lunch and leftovers.

Carnitas and carne asada gordititas we’re on point! Enchiladas had the perfect heat. So glad this opened up down the road. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent traditional food, try the homemade mole! Clean inviting atmosphere, friendly staff and terrific chef. Highly recommend this new addition to the neighborhood.

The outside and parking looks shabby but inside looks good and great fresh flavors that are different in a good way. Looking forward to going again!
