Coreyswave Professional Surf Instruction

Coreyswave makes it really easy to learn how to surf. Kristin worked directly (via text) with me to schedule and was super accommodating to changing weather and schedule. The instructors are all warm and welcoming - they really want you to succeed and become interested in surfing. Personal shoutout to my instructor Aviad - he was great. After our experience with Coreyswave, I knew I needed to take the time to leave a 5-star review. I recently got back into surfing, and my partner has been enjoying learning the ropes as well. We were visiting Montauk with the intention of surfing at Ditch Plains, but I knew we'd feel more comfortable being out on the water with a local since we aren't super experienced. We surfed with Cameron, who was nothing short of a delight. Cameron recognized our strengths and weaknesses quickly and made the most of our time in the water with well-seasoned feedback and intentional placement. Kristin was a delight in terms of last minute scheduling (on our part) and she was very thoughtful with all communication. We also had the delight of running into Corey out on the water, he has a great crew.

I had taken 4 surf lessons in my life prior to my first lesson with Coreyswave - and they were SO much better than the others. Coreyswave prioritized safety and only took me out on days that would be appropriate for me; I always felt comfortable. They talked about and showed me skills that really helped me become someone who can actually surf! Their instructors are also great at coaching the more skilled surfers; I have often seen some really great surfers taking lessons with them. Couldn't recommend them more - whether you are brand new or looking to gain some new skills

Corey and his amazing team of instructors have taught my entire family how to surf! Each and every instructor is exceptionally skilled, patient and kind. While we all started as beginners, we continue to surf with Corey and his team and always will. Their depth of knowledge and range of expertise enable them to guide you (whether child or adult) through your first pop up and coach you through your first floater or cross step. Kristin is a joy to work with on the scheduling side. She runs the most professional and safe operation out there and cultivates an overwhelmingly supportive and positive surf community. Whether you're looking to stand up on a board or take your surfing to the next level, Corey and his team will be there to support you, and you will have so much fun in the process!

Corey and Kristin are the best! They have created a positive community where everyone is cheering one another on and there is no sense of competition. Each instructor is serious about surfing and wants you to succeed. The level of surf knowledge and in depth analysis of how to improve is differentiated and tailored to the student. I personally have improved exponentially. Could not recommend anyone better and wish I can take them with me when I travel on surf trips! However the Coreyswave instructors are in my head anyway with the foundations that they have provided me.

Kristen’s coordination and communication was amazing. I was booking on the last minute and I just flew to NYC so coordinating with me must have not been easy but she went above and beyond. Sam the instructor was also a pleasant to work with and enjoyed my time in the beach. Having surfed in California, the waves were a bit more consistent side at ditch plain so had to spend a lot of time paddling out but I enjoyed every minute of it.

If you want to learn to surf, call Corey and his team. I’ve taken many surf lessons in many places and this is the best operation I’ve ever worked with. They’ve made surfing accessible for our whole family and many of our friends. The team are professional, organized, encouraging and passionate about the sport. They have great equipment, take safety seriously and make the overall experience a positive one every time we’re there. And if you’ve surfed before they have amazing, experienced instructors who know how to help you progress. They’re also located at Ditch Plains in Montauk where the waves are gentle, fun and easy to catch. Highly recommend the lessons here, they’re amazing.

I've been taking lessons with Coreys Wave for years- and they've redefined how I think about coaching. Every instructor is a wonderful mix of expertise, empathy, and great coaching. The team at Coreys Wave has helped me grow both my love and skill of surfing. While I started as a total newbie, I now take lessons regularly to keep developing- and imagine I'll be part of the Coreys Wave family for years to come. Kristin and the team are excellent and easy to communicate with to make sure you have the best day in the water.

The most professional group of surf instructors in Montauk. I've been surfing with Corey, Gavin and Kevin, specifically, for 3+ years and they are the most patient instructors anyone could ever ask for! They will meet you where you're at in your surfing career or teach you from scratch. I have learned a tremendous amount from them over the years and I am forever grateful to them for teaching me how to surf!

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned surfer, the instructors and coaches at Corey’s Wave are exceptional. In the two years that I have surfed with their team I’ve learned more and improved my surfing tenfold. My only regret is that I hadn’t worked with them sooner.

After years of being too insecure to even try to learn to surf, a mid-30s me finally found CoreysWave. I often refer to it as the Google search that changed my life. I’ve been surfing with them for 6 years now and have experienced nothing short of excellence. Safety is paramount in every aspect of their instruction, from paddling out to wave selection and even how to fall in the best way possible for not just you, but everyone around you. And while I’ve gotten to the point now, both in skill-level and knowledge of proper etiquette, that I can confidently take surf trips around the world, what’s so much more important is that I’ve found a community of people that I can’t imagine my life without and a deep passion for surfing that I plan to cultivate for the rest of my life. My five grandchildren had a blast. The three instructors were fantastic, very patient and a a lot of fun. And I can't say enough about Kristen and Dalma and the great job they did on such short notice setting everything up and making the kids dream of surfing become a reality.

So knowledgeable about surfing and patient with me! We’ve traveled around the world on surf trips and he’s given me tips I’ll use for a lifetime! Cory got me over my fear a couple of years ago & now I surf with him all year round!
