Surah Steak Seafood Sushi

We celebrated the 19th birthday of my eldest and everything about the experience was phenomenal. From the time we were greeted/seated, to the drink orders, soup/salad, sushi and finally hibachi. The staff was aware we were celebrating a birthday and went above and beyond to make it special by giving all the kids at the table a balloon as well as a small dish of ice cream for each person and very special happy birthday song with a gong the honorary guest was allowed to smack. Definitely recommend for family dinners or special occasions.

Went here with our family on a weeknight. We did the hibachi table but also got some sushi appetizers. Everything tasted great and our service was very good. The chef was entertaining and personable. The food portions were large. Definitely will come back here again.

Drove almost two hours to try, and plan to make the journey again. I've always been a fan of Asian food, and go out of my way to try asian owned businesses when I get a chance. I can say for certain that Surah is by far the best and most enjoyable dining experience I've ever had. The staff is kind and informed, the food is well prepared and delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I have said before that there are some restaurants that you feel that you have to force yourself to relax and enjoy. I can say safely, and without a doubt, that Surah takes no effort to bring a smile to one's face. Can't wait to come back, and can't recommend it enough!

A wonderful habachi house with generous portions of fresh sashimi, sushi, and grilled food. We could not stop smiling — it was a celebration. We will cherish this experience for the rest of our life.

First time here ordered couple different sushi rolls and dumplings everything was delicious. Really good hand rolls.

Best sushi we have had in Maryland. It is surprising that it is in the little town of Mount Airy.

Great food and great people. You can easily eat here as a vegetarian - great tofu, fried rice, etc. If you want to keep it dairy free, you can ask them not to cook with butter or yum yum sauce. We did Hibachi, just two of us and the chef happily put on the show as if the table were full.

Love their tofu, rice, noodles, vegetables, Japanese beer, etc. But the people on top of that… they are so sweet! You can tell they’re genuinely happy, nice people. One of the owners, a lady, is so sweet and gave us the best goodbye on the way out, then proceeded to open the door after we left to say ‘thank you guys, bye!’ It was a Monday so a slower day for them, and that was so kind. They take great pride in ensuring you enjoy yourself and your meal.

We were there while a family was also for their sons 21st birthday. The birthday show with the gong and singing was so sweet.

This was the best dining experience I've had in years. Absolutely amazing atmosphere, food, and service.

We are really picky on hibachi and this place was fantastic! Kids loved the ice cream at the end . 5 stars all around from this super picky family!

FANTASTIC! Incredibly friendly service. I showed up with my three kids, four and under. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was fantastic, especially the steak. Generous portions, very reasonable prices. And they throw quite a birthday celebration. Mt Airy is lucky to have this place. Thank you to all the staff for giving us a great night out!

I ordered a lot of sushi for carryout on a Friday night, and it was super busy. The employees felt so bad for missing pickup ready time for my order that they offered me a discount on my order and deep apologies (which were nice but completely not needed). The sushi looked beautiful, rolled well, and was delicious. This is definitely a spot you want to give a try the staff is awesome and so is the food. Thanks for the great meal!

We placed an order for carry out tonight and were very impressed! Everyone was super nice and very friendly when we picked our food up, and it was ready only 15 minutes after we placed our order! The food itself was amazing. We ordered some sushi and one order of hibachi, and it was all delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the scallops. We’re so happy to have Surah here in Mount Airy!
