We rented a tent site for 2 nights and did the chili bar trip.

The Campsite is vary clean and well kept. Bathrooms are great, warm showers. The check in area has ice and a few things you might need, water shoes, sweatshirts, t shirts, sunscreen, dry bags. The pond was not great, could be the time of year.

Be sure to bring a tube and a life vest to enjoy some swimming or tubing down the river. There are plenty of spots to watch people go down troublemaker and cheer them on.

The guides were all great for the rafting trip.

We will be coming again with a bigger group.

We had a great time camping! We will be coming back hopefully once a year!
We booked a campsite and to be closer to a bathroom/shower, but they have other options like RV with hookup, cabins, and cabin tents as well. You can pick to be close to the river or be inland.
Prices vary depending on how many ppl will be attending and the type of camping.(rv,cabin etc)
Sadly, we didn't get to have a campfire due to heat warnings, but you are able to have one if it's by propane.
Definitely have a seat to watch the sunset ;) or feed the ducks by the pond if you have littles and I suggest going to the 2nd river access that located by the cabins tents for them to explore the river and to see the rafters.
The staff was amazing. They kept the place clean and were available to help out if you needed any assistance. The office has the essential things you might forget at home and some snacks/drinks. I would recommend going to the store before heading in or driving into town to get what you need. It really is the basics in the store. They have souvenirs, water shoes, bug spray, and sunglasses. The resort has a pool, bathrooms, showers, and a pond for catch and release. They offer rafting with transportation. Mark this spot in your "want to go" you won't be disappointed.

We typically stay in the River Cabins. Each cabin has a full/queen bed, roll away single, and pull out couch. The pull out is variable depending on if they have a good mattress. The other beds are comfortable. They ha e minimal kitchen supplies. Grill on the deck. Super fun location. Pool on property also if the river is too fast for you. River rafting right from the resort.

For our 3 nights Memorial Day Weekend Camping, we stayed at American River Resort, Mt. View Site #69 and #71.

The Check-in is between 3:00PM-10:00PM and check-out is 12:00PM. For the cabins, check-in is between 4:00PM-10:00PM and check-out is 11:00AM.

The site was pretty small, the facilities are good like electric hookup, water, good and clean restrooms, nice and free shower, small swimming pool perfect for out kids to cool down in hot day time. View was nice and overall nicely managed.

You can also explore and do activities like:
* Hike to Dutch Creek Fall which is just 2 miles away from the resort
* Walk around and explore Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park
* Visit Gold Discovery Museum, you can also watch short movie and shop some sovereigns.
* You can go to Folsom Lake which is just 21 miles away.

Overall, this Campsite as activities for all (family, single and couples). Really had an awesome camping full of fun.

My family completed a White Water rafting trip down the South Fork of the American River. We had an absolute blast. The water was high and fast, we had a 13 and 15 year old in the raft and everyone stayed in the raft as we hit every large wave for 3 plus hours. I would highly recommend the professional crew that operates American River Resort and Whit Water Adventures to anyone with an upbeat and adveturistc attitude.

It was our first time with American river resort company and I would say they did their best to make the trip fun and comfortable for their guests. We took full day river rafting trip and our guide/coach Rich was amazing. He kept educating and entertaining thru-out the trip and did not let it become boring at any given time during the 6 hour expedition. Food during the lunch break was very well administered with adequate precautions for social distancing. I would definitely recommend this company and revisit them again. I also liked the pictures taken by their staff and option to purchase for all the picture at very nominal price.

Our family had a Great time at the American River Resort. The staff was very friendly. The large group campsites close to the River was a perfect size and location for a hot weekend. The guided Whitewater Rafting was AWESOME for our first time, Nick the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We'll return next summer and recommend friends & family to join next trip.

This is the the best resort. We stayed in one of their river view cabin on weekend and everything was perfect including reservations, cleanliness, comfortable bedding, well equipped kitchen and grill outside the cabin with propane. Rafting trips start from this resort (by American river whitewater expeditions) and that makes the location resort convenient.

We stayed here for a corporate outing and it was great! We stayed in the riverside group campsites #17 & #23. The sites were beautiful and very shady. They had the tents and several camp chairs set up for us in advance. The campsites had river access, which was fun. The only slight negative were the bathrooms, which have some room for improvement, but they were fine. The hot breakfast buffet before rafting was delicious. We went rafting through the resort too and it was also amazing! The guides were great, and the lunch wraps were perfect. Overall, our group had an awesome experience!! The staff was friendly and easy to work with.

This is a great little resort on the river. My boyfriend and I stayed in a cabin tent that was already set up for us upon our arrival. We did a combo trip and rafted for the 3 days we were there. Breakfast and lunch were included in our total as well as one dinner. The food was really good (way better than most hotels). The bathrooms were super clean and I liked that our tent was near the showers. It was an absolutely perfect weekend getaway and we will 100% be returning.

We had a wedding there for my best friends daughter. It was beautiful, with the American River and mountains the backdrop. There were 4 cabins rented out for the bridal party for several nights. They all had ample space for families as well as a basic kitchen...stove, microwave, refrigerator, air conditioner, bathtub and shower. In summer months there are also several great places to put up tents for outdoor camping.

We took a youth group of girls here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. We booked the entire river front area. There was some miscommunication with the reservation as to which camp sites we had reserved. Be sure to always list each and every camp ground site number. Other than that, the bathrooms and showers were great, location was excellent. We would consider coming again.

Our guide Christian was great! He was very personable, entertaining, and most importantly a great river guide. He made the trip fun and gave us good instructions. The river itself provided awesome rapids. It had a lot of fun sections and really made it a great time. The lunch that was provided was delicious and there was plenty to eat. Overall, would highly recommended this trip!

The best rafting company out there. This was my second time using them and everything was just as awesome. The first time we had Michelle as our guide, she knows what she is doing and makes everything fun and exciting. We requested her this time around, but we got Christian instead. He was just as Awesome, fun, and hilarious Our group of 5 girls had the boat to ourselves which was great also. I HIGHLY recommend this company and ask for either Michelle or Christian, you wont regret it.

Booked an all day rafting trip with them. We were a group of 15 people on a weekend and it was perfect! Our trip guide Nikki was amazing. Cheerful and kept us engaged the entire day on the raft. Would love to go back again.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and service! Our experience here was amazing and the Whitewater Rafting was perfect! Jay was our guide and he was so fun and experienced; he went out of his way to make sure our excursion was the best it could be and lunch was great! The photographer Scott was on point the whole time and our picture package was extremely affordable and the images were amazing! We will definitely be back!

Love this place! Being outdoors with the most friendly people. The guides and staff are so friendly and eager to help make your stay what you want. Rafting is great with the knowledgable guides who take the time to make you feel safe on the river. The owners Arnie and Jen are so helpful, my only regret is that I don't live closer to go more often. I recommend this place to anyone who really wants to enjoy the outdoors. 5 stars to American River Resort!
